Try to reinstall the os. How? Connect down load the Sony pc companion. Install it. Then connect your phone to the pc. At the left of the software click on support zone in some were say "repair“ click there and follow the instruction. This is the first you must do.

You exexperiencing what i have been experience...this is due to battery or battery management problem...and nothing even flash factory firmware will solve tis problem...unless you can repair by change the battery yourselves...otherwise there's nothing you can do except return it to sony service center for repair....
I have experience this problem and sony return my phone with great conditions....if you have warranty of course so nothing to worry about...
You must relock bootloader and unroot first before sending it....trust me, its ok...hope this help...

Hey guys, i'm crazy with my xperia ion.
I've flashed a GI kernel, all good, all fine, but, when i try to power on my phone for the first time after flashing, they don't boot. No led, no screen, power+vol up don't work. Someone can help me?
Sorry for the bad english, brazilians don't receive properly education. HA HA.

Dont panic. Can you desemble the phone? If yes, dissemble it and remove battery ribon from motherboard and reconect it. After that try to flash stock fw or kernel.

It took 48h for my ION to recover, just waiting...
Yea 36 hours for me the one time it happened. Think I was one of the first to have it happen actually. With the Ion being as old as it is I have yet to see a device that was actually bricked. If your patient it will come back.
Finally, after 37h of charge i got the green led, flashed the official ftf and BRING BACK LIFE TO MY ION \o/
See now you are back up and running. Now you can get back in line for the official JB update lol.
Good thing you didnt panic bro to open your x-ion, you just wait. Cause I believe that may cause your warranty to void and go to waste. Patience is virtue!
Damn guys, again my phone is dead, now cuz i'm tried to root the 4.1.2 ROM, but the battery was with 7%. Maybe now the red led can appear faster than before?
Thanks.

Yeah, i solve the problem. Buying another Xperia Ion \o/
A big problem
I don't wanted to open new thread so i will post here.
My Ion is bootloader unlocked and i was flashing a big rom with 30% battery. It didnt't flashed and i tryed to restore the back up and that failed. Now my Ion is dead, it was long connected on wall charger, just red light was constantly burning and after about 10 min it disapeared. Tryed to connect to pc in flash mode or fast boot but it's not going. What to do, i think it's hard bricked
So, me and a friend of mine tried to Root my brand new Zl ( model no. c6502 ) after that, whenever I try to turn it on (without a charger), the device vibrates, Sony logo appears and then shut off itself. With the wall charger, right after I plug the USB cord, the LED Notification turn on in the red color, Sony logo appears again and then resets, but with another thing, after reseting the device enters in some kind of boot-loop and it simply don't stop. After I had all this headache, I tried to use both Sony Update Service and PC Companion in order to restore the "original" rom, with no success by using SUS, but with PC Companion, although, by holding the OFF button until it vibrates 3 times and then try to turn it on by pressing Vol-Up + Power Button with the charger plugged in, I managed to make it boot. The only problem is, if I take the Charger cord out, the device simply shut down, recreating the whole problem again...
My ZL is currently without BLU ( BootLoader Unlocker ) along with the original Rom installed directly from the PC Companion.
I'm worried because it looks like some hardware issue or a problem with some kind of file that assist the device in it's boot...
Besides me, is there anyone that had the same problem as mine and know how to fix this issue? Can any of you guys help me, please?
Thank you so much for the attention

I don't know if this is the same thing, but yes, I do see something like 13w18
Something similar happened to me, I fixed it by pressing the OFF button and let it go when the phone vibrated, by OFF button I mean the one that is under the cover with the sim and sd card

But you managed to make it work after only vibrating once? or after the three times?
So...After struggling with my phone for what now...5 days, now i'm having the same problem from a guy that I say these past days. While out of the Wall Charger, Sony logo appears but it doesn't boot. With wall charger, it boots, Android starts and everything works just fine, until you take it off from the charger, working for like...2 seconds, it turns off...
I think that I'm almost fixing it XD
Is anyone having the same problem as mine? Anyone who actually made it work? Please, share with us how? xD
P.S.: I'm still trying to figure it out, but help is greatly appreciated
Anyone? D:
If flashing new rom can't help, I advise you to get a warranty. There is one guy here having that similar problem, he tried so many method to fix but to no avail. To save ur time just claim the warranty.
Ur problem seem to related with power source which related with battery.

If your phone isn't even going into flash mode than better try pulling out and reinserting the battery or try another one, and if that not works than take it to service center, no matter if you have rooted it they won't notice unless you have unlocked bootloader.
But mostly I think it's a battery problem so try another one from your friends or anyone. Good luck.

My xperia m phone is dead I can't unlock my bootloader. I used PC companion but it won't help me!. I went to service centre they told me to change board but the board is good!. What should I do please help me!
My Sony Xperia ZL is NOT booting up unless it has an external power supply. The phone vibrates, shows the SONY bootscreen, and then dies. Also, the phone runs perfectly until i disconnect it and it simply dies in the blink of an eye. I have an unlocked bootloader and was on CM10.2, flashed the stock ftf for 4.3, then 4.2, and yet nothing worked! My device is just around 8 months old and i doubt that my battery can be dead all of a sudden when it was giving decent backup until today!

my bootloader is unlocked so the warranty will most probably be void. Also, since this is a sudden development, am hoping it's a software problem.

If you have taken a backup of your TA partition, then relock your bootloader before you go to the service center.
I'm pretty sure that your battery is dead.
Do you have a Trim Area backup? If so, restore it and then take it to service.

ITS YOUR BATTERY! TRUST ME!
I had the exact same issue. Just spring for a 30$ battery from eBay. Worked for me! I also brought an Xperia T back to life by replacing the battery ?. It would only show a blinking red light but wouldnt boot or charge. New battery fixed it. Sony DEFINITELY has some kinks to work out with their batteries. At the very least they need to go back to removable ones.

You can use it while charging but not while its off charge. If the sony center denies the problem with the battery, No one can help you. You need to check the battery. Hardware related issue. So none of us can help you out online. Please try to get your battery replaced. I think you can do that.
