About Carbon
CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub.
We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.

Features
Simply stated, we can't really list features here. There are too many and they change too frequently, and we now support a truly insane number of devices. Chances are, if you like a feature, we have it already. Seriously.

Special Thanks Go Out To
For helping me learn to build: @oblikas, @madmack , @Shelnutt2
For teaching me how to behave on XDA and inspiring me to be more than just a user: @car vs driver, @xcrazydx, @mtdew, @mindmajick, @toyes
For their development and sharing it with the community: @CarbonDev, Google, The Android Team, The CyanogenMod Team, Ricardo Cerqueira
I'm sure there are others that I'm forgetting, so please don't be offended.

Bugs
So far Bluetooth Share crashes at setup, but that's all I've noticed.
I'm not a developer, just learning how to build, so expect a bug here or there. If you find one, please report it to me (logs are preferred) and I'll try to straighten it out.

Great man ! Congrats !

Now I want an Optimus! I appreciate the shout out bro!
Good job.

Thanks man! Skyrocket forums really shaped my appreciation of Android and ROMs so I thought it was only fair to recognize the major contributors.
You should definitely get a G Pro if you're in the market for a device; they can be come by pretty cheaply and it's a great piece of hardware.

I'm running a build now to see if that commit fixes it. I'll post it later if it compiles. I'm on AT&T so my testing won't prove anything.

I should never have tried to run two builds simultaneously! Lesson learned!
I'll post the link to the build with the T-Mobile fix in the morning, if all goes well.
EDIT: New build in the OP. I added the T-Mobile Audio fix from @tdm but it involved a little modifying so I'm not sure if it took effect. Please test for in-call audio and any other bugs.

Is this based on Andriod 4.4?

Due to your inability to read you shouldn't even be allowed to flash. What part of Carbon 4.3.1 you missed?
Happy Thanksgiving.

[2013-02-13][ROM - CyanogenMod 10 - JB 4.1.2 - UNOFFICIAL]

Hey fellas,
I just start to compile a CM10 rom for my own use from the source and I wish to share with you guys.
So far so good, seems everything is working fine.
Instructions..
You probably know.. but just in case..
1. Boot to recovery (MANDATORY A TOUCH RECOVERY) - I strongly recommend the sk8erwitskil or TWRP recovery (plenty of useful features)(Respectively): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1844637) or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1768742
2. Wipe data/factory reset
3. Flash the rom
4. Reboot
5. Flash the GAPPS:
- http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip (Thanks to casonswag for suggest)
6. Reboot and have fun
Attention:
1. Do not install any kind of cpu manager, like setCPU. Keep for now the stock frequencies. It can cause SODs and RRs.
2. When using Titanium Backup do not proceed restoration of data. It can be corrupted or even incompatible in some point to new releases. It can cause FCs.
Attention about to post a bug:
1. Before to post a bug, PLEASE, try to reproduce it at least twice.
2. Make sure that is not related to a bad and dirty flash, you can try to wipe cache and dalvik.
3. Be polite, after all, we are doing this for fun and for the pleasure of share, with no benefits at all.
4. You can contribute here with some debug methodology lol
Changelog (?!) (just a short description about what has changed in CM10 Source):
- Usual changes at the CM source. For more details http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#/q/status:merged,n,z (Thanks to krazeecracker)
- More about official CM changelog http://changelog.bbqdroid.org/#hercules/cm10/next (Thanks to mobbarley)
- much more to come soon.. (just let me have some time to go through the kernel source code )

For old releases:

ATTENTION
You DON'T need to install any other kernel. Everything works fine, at least in my end
For additional GAPPS:

As usual, THANKS everybody involved somehow in CyanogenMod development!
Hope you enjoy as I am enjoying this awesome branch.
PS. As also usual, I don't wanna get in flame with anyone over here. So please, any issue PM and I will, promptly, try to resolve any dispute or simply remove the content. I am posting this for fun and for the pleasure to share something that has been cool for me.
Oh, and please, just note that I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards and so on.
Have fun!

Lol...wow, another thread. Nice that others are compiling their own, but do we really need another thread? If he is tweaking it, thats a different story, but right now it is straight source like my nightlies.
Hope there are some uniqueness soon.

Not trying to flame or nothing of that nature, but pls see what happened in another thread. That was the reason I had asked for screenshots. Don't want to get the same vibe I got from the other rom... but I'm one in 10000's. I believe always safe than sorry. Once again just my opinion.

Now track the status of your issue on -

Quick Tips:
◘ Make sure you do a Full Wipe and then flash the ROM.
◘ DO NOT restore data via Titanium Backup. More often than not it will cause stupid issues.
◘ Lean Kernel, as verified by Woodrube and antiochasylum (Thanks!) works rather well on this build
◘ If you have done all that, and still face issues please post a logcat. (Search on how to do that)
◘ For battery related issues, please post a relevant screenshot from an app like Better Battery Stats etc.

No logcat or no screenshot effectively means your issue doesn't exist

I have always flashed after fully wiping it will run good for a day and will start doing random reboots 1 to 2 times a day. this is without messing with anything inside of ktweaker. Ktoonsez said something about it having to do with the tweaked buses in which would affect phones with weaker chips, hence my phone :/

I gotta say this is a pretty darn good ROM. Great Job !
. I've customized it a bit with Semaphore Kernel (s version) and bigmem patch, sorry I haven't tested it without those, but i can't live without Semaphore kernel and 409MB of user-available RAM
. Restored my 138 apps, changed some settings, rebooted, tested for 1 hour and I am happy with the performance in and out of games and with the system interface and customization. Gonna test it more for a few more days and see how it goes. :fingers-crossed:
EDIT : There are no ringtones for Calls, Notifications, Alarms. They are missing from the zip too. Pls fix.

Thanks for the heads up, going to wait until they update, then I'll try. :silly:
I had to flash a kernel .tar via Odin for it boot, otherwise stuck at device bootscreen and no recovery access.
We're two users for which it happened.
Semaphore 2.9.22 .tar if needed: http://www.semaphore.gr/downloads/gt-i9000-jb
No apn list (only T-Mobile).
Flash this if lazy as me/not wanting to set them manually
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/25071013/Apns-conf.xml_CM10.1.zip
And go to Settings>More>Mobile networks>access point names and (menu) reset to default.
FC on settings>permission management it seems.

Ahh darn. Was going to make my own thread. Oh well I'll just keep compiling it for myself. Thanks for taking it over so other people can have some Carbon awesomeness.

Yeah you should be fine. I haven't changed anything and it worked well when I did it. I should have a new build ready later tonight.
I had to do a fresh flash over 10/20 non stop android.phone fc.

Not to step on anyones Toes, but here is a fresh build from late last night with proper APN for data fix. Have yet to have the phone FC and data is stable, been running since last night. I use same sources as Spleef used. I wouldn't flash the NH Kernels, even though i love them too, it makes the builds way too unstable (no offense NH).

You are not stepping on any toes. Sorry I missed the newer APNs, I am still getting up to speed and acclimated. I will make sure the new one is included in tonight's build. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

Really strange, I've got better battery than usual, been running good. Here's my battery so far...
Installed the agimax version this evening. LTE speeds are just about normal. Customizations all work. GPS locks quickly and is very stable. WiFi connection is solid and stable. Will put it through the paces over the next couple of days but so far impressed.
