2 rom available for 4.2.2 link
1) base on theam kitkat rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2537603
2) cm rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2530050
AFAIK there's no stable CM for 4.2.2 yet. Either you downgrade to 4.1.2 and flash CM10.1 (which is quite stable and fast, I'm using it daily) or keep your 4.2.2 and flash the newest alpha build from CM10.2 thread (unstable, many things not workig)
The stock 4.1.2 is really huge to download, especially on a slow connection (because Samsung really likes to fill it with bloatwares) but trust me, it is worth the waiting time. CM10.1 and its derivatives are mostly bug free.

Hello Guys!!
Recently I've decided to root my DHD and flash a custom ROM. I prefer Jelly Bean roms but I don't know which is the best.
So, could you recommend me which rom to use? Maybe JellyTime or MIUI rom, it doesn't matter. I just want a stable and fully working rom without bugs.
Or maybe i should use ICS rom?
Waiting for opinions
codefireX 4.2.1 nightlies if you want the latest version of Android, though Bluetooth doesn't work yet.

4.2.1 nightlies? But I don't think we have any nightlies for 4.2.1

Sorry, they're not nightlies. Wrong term. But synergye releases a new build every day or two anyway so they can be counted as such.

So, codefireX is the best among JB roms? Is it better and faster than JellyTime and other roms?
It depends on which version of android you want
JellyTime for instance is 4.1.2
CodefireX is 4.2.1
I have tried them both and they are quite nice
I for obvious reasons want 4.2.1 as it is the latest version
JellyTime is a unofficial Cyanogenmod
CodefireX has its custom mods named the CodefireX Toolchain
However sins sunday someone has released an unofficial Cyanogenmod 10.1 which is running on android 4.2.1.
It can be found here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2073992
Im using it right now and i am rather impressed i recommend this one .
Pesonally I prefer the 4.1.2 CodefireX Periodicals, great performance, good battery life and nearly 100% bulletproof/stable. Highly reccomended with one of these Themes:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1864549
Correct me wrong, but I thing that volume speaker is not working on 4.1.2. Just a word of warning to everyone!
so far i still use the JellyTime R30....i've been using this ROM since R19
on its latest version, it has good battery life, fast response, good radio even though I have to upgrade my radio to 12.69a.60.29U_26.17.14.11_M
ever try install the codefirex but I forget the version (can't compare...sorry)....
I think Jellytime and Super Galaxy are one of the best JB roms out there. I have tried quite a few. Codefire X is good too but I like JB and Super Galaxy better.

They are all great roms , you should try them all before deciding. Like it was said above , official firmware upgrade for anything above 2.3.6 from Samsung doesn`t exist , you have to resort to roms if you want that.
Sorry if i missed some developer , it wasn`t intentional.
Well, Im using aokp 4.2.2 right now and it is really great. Smooth and fast. Everything works, only small issues

Yes you can try both AOSP ICS roms , really they are very good without any need for overclocking or tweaking , in my opinion. They keep about 170Mb RAM free.

You want custom or stock ROM? If you want stock, I.e., Samsung ROM then you don't have any other option but to flash the official lag ROM only. You can root it and remove unwanted Samsung apps to make it a but faster. I will suggest you to go for CM 11 by pawitp for best performance of you use single SIM only. Hope this piece of information helped you.

If you want fast touchwiz rom, the fastest is k2wl's ultralite 4.1 rom, flash it on stock 4.1. If you can use single sim only, use one of the kitkat rom (the lightest by size is SlimKat, but the performance is almost the same i think).

You can get KitKat in CM11 only and other AOSP ROMs.
Best one according to me is CM11 by pawitp: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2563557
Other ROMs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-grand-duos/development
i really recommend aokp 4.4 for you...i havent seen another rom which is so good on build 1 itself ...ts got everythng battery life less ram many features and yes...its a cm11 derivative
CM11 is a good choice now and the 2sim are working
I m on CM11 by pawitp and its really AWESOME..very smooth, Good ram and s dual sim functionality is added but is on experimental..i personally didnt try dual sim till now but the ROM is Awesome and i suggest u too Thanks to pawitp for his wonderful rom..
Word of explanation: Maybe i'm blind but i can't add poll to existant topic, so let's spam Q&A thread).
Time passes, and we have decent KitKat ROMs for Codina in great number. At this moment (or in a week, when i release new build of Carbon KitKat) - 4.4 version is as stable and funcional as my BUILD 7 of 4.3 Carbon PLUS it has many additional features.
I have the sources of 4.3 version on my HDD... So i want to ask you (if you care) if we can name last (build 7) version final, stable and close the project. As you know there will be no (serious) sources update... When i delete sources - there will be no return...
It would be cool love carbon

I love Carbon <3
But KK version

i love carbon but please made it 4.3 version. my personal reason :
1. we already have too many kitkat based rom and all of them have similiar features.
2. our 4.3 is almost bugfree rather than kitkat althought its very usable.
3. i like to playing game on my phone and honestly i usually use modded/cracked version of my favorite game/apps . lot of them didnt work on kitkat but works good on any jb rom.
continue development please
Please continue to develope Carbon 4.3. We need a stable JellyBean version as the KitKat is new not to mayn apps/games works on it also there are number of KitKat roms and they have same issues i think. In this stiuation a stable 4.3 Rom will be more useful for us. If you could resolve the last issues on Carbon 4.3, I will be very happy for a stable 4.3 rom.

But we've got stable 4.3 ROMs, and Carbon on 4.3 is stable too i think. If u need space, then u can delete it, it is ur deal bro . Carbon 4.4 is awesome and in normal using my phone i dont see any big issues, so u can Focus on kitkat, to make it better and better
