[Q] The best Jelly Bean ROM? - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Guys!!
Recently I've decided to root my DHD and flash a custom ROM. I prefer Jelly Bean roms but I don't know which is the best.
So, could you recommend me which rom to use? Maybe JellyTime or MIUI rom, it doesn't matter. I just want a stable and fully working rom without bugs.
Or maybe i should use ICS rom?
Waiting for opinions

codefireX 4.2.1 nightlies if you want the latest version of Android, though Bluetooth doesn't work yet.
codefireX 4.1.2 Periodicals if you want everything working.

4.2.1 nightlies? But I don't think we have any nightlies for 4.2.1

Sorry, they're not nightlies. Wrong term. But synergye releases a new build every day or two anyway so they can be counted as such.

So, codefireX is the best among JB roms? Is it better and faster than JellyTime and other roms?

It depends on which version of android you want
JellyTime for instance is 4.1.2
CodefireX is 4.2.1
I have tried them both and they are quite nice
I for obvious reasons want 4.2.1 as it is the latest version
JellyTime is a unofficial Cyanogenmod
CodefireX has its custom mods named the CodefireX Toolchain
However sins sunday someone has released an unofficial Cyanogenmod 10.1 which is running on android 4.2.1.
It can be found here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2073992
Im using it right now and i am rather impressed i recommend this one .

Pesonally I prefer the 4.1.2 CodefireX Periodicals, great performance, good battery life and nearly 100% bulletproof/stable. Highly reccomended with one of these Themes:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1864549

Correct me wrong, but I thing that volume speaker is not working on 4.1.2. Just a word of warning to everyone!

so far i still use the JellyTime R30....i've been using this ROM since R19
on its latest version, it has good battery life, fast response, good radio even though I have to upgrade my radio to 12.69a.60.29U_26.17.14.11_M
ever try install the codefirex but I forget the version (can't compare...sorry)....

I think Jellytime and Super Galaxy are one of the best JB roms out there. I have tried quite a few. Codefire X is good too but I like JB and Super Galaxy better.

I would suggest exactly the same with Franco's kernel.
Aaaaand which one is AOKP rom ? [ROM] Android Open Kang Project - maguro - build 23?
what about [ROM][16-02-12][AOSP][4.0.3] Codename Android 1.4.0 | Fully Open Source |
?
What is the difference between AOKP and non AOKP roms ?
Sorry for noobish and stupid questions
Thanks
+1 for aokp. I prefer lean kernel but franco is good as well.
AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project developed by Team Kang. So I think you should know which one it is. Non AOKP are ROMs not developed by Team Kang. lol...
Ok i got it
Downloading it atm
And those are not Cm right? (Another stupid q )

Has there been an official release for 4.0.3 or 4.0.4 yet for the GSM version I am still on 4.0.2 have seen nothing from googs
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
I don't think so. A bunch of the roms are on 4.0.3 and I heard a that 4.0.4 was supposed to come out mid march... ?
Some people are on 4.0.4 with current roms and are doing well with it and others like me, have just stuck around with 4.0.3 with the 4.0.4 radios.
Roman, from aokp, says he won't have 4.0.4 until Google drops the source code.

[Q] Whats the best custom rom for Desire HD with Android 4.1?

Hey Guys,
I have a question:
What is the best custom rom with android 4.0 or 4.1 or 4.2 (soon) for desire hd in your opinion?
I want to stay on basic android, so the rom shouldn't be to extremely different on the UI.
Thankx
the_zoker_09
I'm running jelly time r24. Its fantastic and stable. I'm not sure 4.2 is even available yet.
sent from my Inspire 4g running Jelly time, pimped and supercharged.
Only you can answer that question. Take a few out for a test ride and see which works best for you and what you want out of it. You wouldn't buy a car without test driving it would you?

Unfortunately, inspiredbyhtc hasn't has the chance to update the development list as much as he would like. I know of:
JellyTime CM10 by randomblame
Unofficial CM10 by synergye
codefireX by synergye
PACman by blindndumb
Super Galaxy by krisjanne
Also Unofficial AOKP by synergye and JellyTime AOKP by randomblame, but they haven't been updated in a long time. synergye's is stopped, and I don't know about random's.
To be honest I think Vipers HTC Sense rom for the DHD is amazing. Version 2.2 is out right now and its great!
Thread has been closed. These types of thread are not allowed. Each rom behaves differently for each person.
The best thing you can do is to try the roms for yourself and see which one suits you best.
Many thanks,
Ghost

[Q] Hboot 1.36 and JB 4.1/4.2?

I have Hboot 1.36 and I want a stable ROM. Would you recommend a ROM with either 4.1 or 4.2? For instance, Cyanogenmod has two ROMs for either 4.1 or 4.2.
Obviously 4.1 is more stable because it has been around longer.
In fact the "official" CM10.1 for One X hasn't been released yet.

How does this work then? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1784185. I guess they took the CM10.1 source code that is in development and built their own implementation?
That is correct, if the dev gets it to a stable state on the one x, the cm team may make it the official build for this device

newer AOKP port for DHD/Inspire??

has anyone or can anyone port a newer version of AOKP for the DHD/Inspire? like milestone 1 or whichever one is newest? I personally only like aokp and not too fond of the aosp or aospx. I flashed Pacman rom but had too many problems with it.
so if anyone can port one it would be GREATLY appreciated.
thanks a lot

You mean AOKP Android 4.2? We've just got an AOSP based 4.2 ROM, so I'd just be paitent for a AOKP based follow up. If not, maybe you can suggest it to synergy or RandomBlame? I believe RandomBlame already has a 4.2 ROM, but it's in its baby stages as of yet.
no a JB version 4.1 im back to running aokp release 7 from the github. but hasnt been a new one since like September.

RandomBlame is on Release 30 now, look for JellyTime in the Development forum
I don't know about 4.2 AOKP, but if it's options you want you could try cfX 4.2.
I tried aosp ROMS and cfx 4.1 but I don't like them as much as AOKP for some reason. Although I have not tried cfx 4.2 yet. Was waiting for Bluetooth to work. Also I've tried jellytime aosp and I always come back to aokp. I ran Icecoldsandwich for the longest time but I want to stay on JB and not ICS. If I actually had the time (kids, work, wife) I would try porting a newer aokp over to dhd/inspire myself but I never have time. Even dropping a deuce is apparently a "team sport" according to my kids. LOL.
bump?
cfX bluetooth works now, if that is what's still preventing you from using it.
And just today: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2113047.

The reason is very obvious one
AOSP - clean unbranded stock android
AOKP - unbranded android with cleanly built in to settings menu additional features like CPU OC, status bar tweaks etc.... with everything else as close as possible to AOSP.

2 rom available for 4.2.2 link
1) base on theam kitkat rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2537603
2) cm rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2530050
AFAIK there's no stable CM for 4.2.2 yet. Either you downgrade to 4.1.2 and flash CM10.1 (which is quite stable and fast, I'm using it daily) or keep your 4.2.2 and flash the newest alpha build from CM10.2 thread (unstable, many things not workig)
The stock 4.1.2 is really huge to download, especially on a slow connection (because Samsung really likes to fill it with bloatwares) but trust me, it is worth the waiting time. CM10.1 and its derivatives are mostly bug free.
