Hi,
I'm wondering if Kindle Fire HD 4G LTE will work with T-Mobile's 4G LTE network. I'm considering to buy one on Black Friday, but I'd like to make sure it's going to work. I'd appreciate any advice on this.
Thank you,
GT
When I put my T-Mobile SIM in it connects to the network but not data. Probably need to fix apn settings which I have not had luck doing on this device.

h+ stands for HSPA+, or "3,5G". It is an evolved version of 3G, offering higher speeds. But not close to 4G, of course. See wikipedia for more details: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GSM
Unless you got a carrier-locked CDMA model from the US, AFAIK, you have a international GSM device, only capable of connecting to GSM/UMTS networks, and using any of their data protocols (EDGE, 3G, HSxPA). Any ROM that tells you that you're on 4G, they're lying to you, purely an appearance tweak.

I'm having a difficult time understanding your post (probably due to autocorrect). Please verify the following:
You have a Sprint version of the Galaxy S3.
You're currently on the Prepaid service MVNO which allows Bring Your Own Device (byod, had to google that one).
On TW Roms, you have working 3G and LTE.
On AOSP Roms, you only have working 3G (not LTE).
I honestly don't know how to help you on this one. I just wanted to verify the information above so others can help you.
If that is the case, when he flashes aosp her may have to go into the settings and switch from cdma only to cdma/lte

4 yes only 3g works when i put lte/cdma on an aosp rom it shows bars for 4g.. but does not actually connect 3g and 1x work fine its only on touch wiz that i get 4g lte and it switches from 3g to 4g fine on touch wiz roms cuz here in tampa its patchy

Then I have an easy solution for you. It may not be what you want to hear but just stay on TW.
all kidding aside flash the tw update profile and prl. Then flash an aosp and see if that works.

Yeah i havnt tried that but ive done this ##72786# that is supposed to reset the network config to default or factory. ...so after doing that i have let it set up the connection after establishing a 4g connection and making sure it works correctly then i flash a rom.. ...now the rom i really want js miui v4.1.. but i cant even confirm lte works.. but it doesnt work on any aosp or aokp

What MVNO are you on that allows you to have a sprint GS3? I have a GS3 flashed to boost and am trying to figure out how to get my lte working.
I'm looking for an inexpensive way to get data on my soon to arrive N7 since my phone plan doesn't include data and I plan to be on the road a lot next year.
Also open to suggestions one good ones if the answer is yes.

why not just use the 3g connection of ur cellphone via wifi tethering?
Since you're going to be on the road, I'd suggest getting a Verizon mobile hotspot. Verizon is expensive, but you'll get the most consistent connection with them wherever you go. It's not USB, but the batteries last a while and you won't have a dongle hanging off your tablet. If you're in a car or hotel, you'll be able to keep it charged.
Also, with the hotspot, you can connect your laptop and phone to it. Just out of curiosity, your signature says that you have an LG-LS970, which is the Sprint LG Optimus G, how do not have data on it? I figured they would've required it.

Yes you can do it. Get a program called PPPWidget
You need to be rooted and you need a kernel that will support the 3G driver. I am using CM 10.2 with glitch kernel. ElementalX works too however I think you have to have Stock ROM or something AOSP based.
I have a Huwaei E303 3G dongle that I use. I think the dongle support is limited in these kernels.
Just used mine in Guam / Saipan / Tinian. It worked.
Thanks for the answers. I've been wondering this as well.

Hi all,
I am currently running a non H3G ROM on my Note 2 LTE.
As Three UK are pushing out 4G to London users, I wondered if I would need to be on an official Three UK ROM for it to happen?
As I understand it, a message is sent to the phone and a reboot is then required for 4G to be activated.
Does anyone know?
I would call Three, but they are shocking with the easiest of questions - so I think this would blow their mind.
Many thanks!
Hi
I not in london but in cardiff and h3g were testing 4g and no message or reboot was needed.
I am on stock rom 4.1.2

Thanks for the info, but I want to know about non standard ROMs.
Out of curiosity, what speeds did you achieve on 4G?
Signal still a bit weak but looks promising

Hi Kieron,
Im running 4.1.2 baseband version N7105NEDMA1 Build number JZ054K.N7105XXDMB2 and have a N7105 LTE on Three UK, and am awaiting 4G to become active
I would just like to confirm this is what you are using as you have confirmed 4G Is working for you - or if anyone else has THREE 4G working on their N7105 what their baseband and build number is so that i can confirm im running the correct one to receive the update? Many thanks
It doesn't matter what ROM you are using I've found out.
There is no software update or any other change to the phone, an update is done on the network side only.
Mine switched on without notification or reboot.
Very strong in Central London and 40MB down and 20MB up.
You just need to wait your turn sadly.
Hello all. I'm currently attempting to flash my SPH-L900 (Samsung Note 2) from Sprint to MetroPCS. I've been looking 'round the net for information on doing this and I'm kinda spinning my wheels. I'm getting info that the MEID need to be changed to ESN, I need to obtain the SPC (and the MSL would be nice to have as well), Does anyone have any links to a good tutorial or information they could share on this? I've gotten quite a bit of information already, but I want to be sure I don't brick this phone, and I want to keep full functionality (4G data, text, ect.). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
@fhaq While this is not exactly for metropcs it will cover the basics. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35753067 I used it as a guide to flash my sprint note 2 to cricket. You just have to use metro's info in place of the other.

That info was right on point. Now I have a solid base knowledge to work off of. Thanks jlmancuso!
4G speeds?
Anyone know if I'll keep the 4GLTE on the Metro network? I think that it would now that they do 4GLTE.
Doubt it. Most providers use different frequencies for LTE. If they are the same the next issue is our LTE/gsm card is integrated into the board. Not completely sure but think only sprint companies can use the LTE (virgin, ting, etc..).

Well looks like I wont be flashing to Metro then. I didn't even think about different frequencies for LTE.
If the ESPN's are good then you could use one of sprints sister companies. I use cricket and 3g is not bad get between 800k and 1.5 mb. Yes a long way from 4g but if you have WiFi you won't notice the lack of 4g most times.
