Hello,
I successfully ran RumRunner and the bootloader is unlocked.
If possible, what steps should I take to flash ParanoidAndroid?
Do I have to wait for a "Verizon-Specific" Build or will the "Att, US, International" Build (m7ul) work?

You should only flash ROMs you find in the Verizon HTC One forums. I know the PACman ROM has several PA features. Someone more familiar with AOSP ROMs might be able to point you in a direction that's as close to PA as we can get right now.

So, I'm about to send off my aluminum baby and be phone-less for a few days (booooo) to Sonic so he can java magic my phone (yaaaaaay!) and I see there are several ROMs based off CM at the moment. I'm curious if anyone is going to try to port the official GPE rom over to VZW? I want to basically turn my phone into GPE. I haven't seen anything from VZW about the official GPE version of the One yet. I know the Moto X has a GPE version but the only GPE I see on the google play site is GSM based. I thought I remembered reading VZW was getting the GPE version but haven't see anything about it since. If we're not going to get the official version I will most likely run andy's rom he posted. Has anyone heard any updates on the VZW GPE?

Yeah I saw that. You're right, it's 4.2. Thanks for the response. I'll just use newt most likely when I get the phone back or just use CM. I didn't know if anyone saw anything about Verizon actually releasing a GPE version of the One or not. Was hoping they would so we could have the straight stock optimized for the device.

not to hijack, but along these lines - how would I go about getting the stock android lockscreen? I much prefer the ring to the sense lockscreen...

On previous versions of Sense, you simply delete or rename HTCLockScreen.apk to HTCLockScreen.bak and reboot.
I'm assuming the same still applies.

Yes, modifying system files and apps always requires root.

Since the kernel allows /system to only be read-only, what is the best way to do this?

Does Flashing SGH-I747 4.3 to a custom ROM will remove the carrier lock of the phone?
No, you are Still locked to your carrier
Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk
Couple of things to keep in mind:
1) if you want to unlock the phone, get a code and unlock the phone while running a stock ROM. You will not be able to enter the code using a custom ROM; and
2) do not attempt to downgrade the bootloader. Any attempts to downgrade could, and probably will, brick your phone.
Does this really works?
I have read through the forums. And I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/themes-apps/app-galaxsim-unlock-1-02-jb-compatible-t1846451 Does this really work?

I doubt it. If it did, there would be a big thread about it in the i747/i747m forum. Also, under FAQ, it states the following: support international Galaxy S3 i9300 (Us qualcomm based GS3 are not supported at this time)
The last post in that thread was 2013-06-14.
That unlock app will not work as it does not support U.S S3 variants
There's a working downgrade to 4.1.1 check it out and while on it, try the free unlock then upgrade again
Edit: my bad.. You can't do the free unlock even of you downgrade because the bootloader is still 4.3... Only way to do it once you're on 4.3 bootloader is to purchase an unlock code
Good luck

Hello Everyone,
As you can tell by the title, im new to this thread. I have a AT&T variant and was wondering there isn't much on the carrier specific thread. So does that mean that the mods and roms here work for it too? or the ones in the carrier specific site are the only ones.
I just want to make sure before i root and go on a crack-flashing marathon.
Thanks in advance

I'm looking to just root right now. Are OTA updates from HTC or carriers (Rogers) possible with root?
Not with a custom recovery. I suggest running a custom stock ROM. Usually within a couple days, those ROM's are usually updated to include the OTA's.

Root doesn't affect OTA, make sure you have stock recovery and firmware/system, might have to reroot afterwards ?

In the changelog for 4.4 RC 1, we are told that we need to flash a new bootloader and radio. This has not been part of my normal process. Why do we need to do this? Also, I wasn't able to find any threads on suggested bootloaders and radios for PA. Please point me in the right direction if this is something I really need to do. (using a Nexus 5)

Dose of awesome sauce on this week from PA Headquarters, again. As you may know we merged 4.4.3 into our source. You will need to flash new bootloader, radio, Gapps and update to latest recovery before going forward. Many bugs have been also resolved on our bug tracker thanks to community’s reports, less to go.

Flash stock 4.4.3 and then flash PA. Did the same for my primary N4

I ended up unzipping the stock package and selectively flashing the stock Bootloader and Radio.
I'm not sure why I needed to do this, but I did it and I'm using 4.4 RC 1 now.
Thanks!
It was mentioned to do so but should have specified that it was only for those old 3.99 holdouts that weren't ready to switch. Mainly only applied to mako users.

I'm kind of in the same situation, except a Nexus 7 2013 LTE is my device in question. I've been searching everywhere and haven't found any answers.

You don't need to update anything then. If your device didn't come with any new boot loaders or radios then there is obviously nothing to update.

Hey guys, I saw a thread a while back and I can't find it now but it was a method to get AOSP onto the VZW HTC 10. It involved adding some files into the radio or firmware or something along those lines. If anyone could point me to that thread or a tutorial on getting AOSP on my VZW 10 that would be awesome. Thanks!

S-off is needed if have a Verizon 10, it's the only way of flashing anything on it as Verizon disables bootloader unlocking by default on their devices.
But even sprint says have to be soff and do a firmware with no radio then u can use aosp I'm on sprint I just say that every aosp for spr and vzw need soff

This was fixed just a few days ago, see post #5 above. @tabp0le found a solution for the firmware problem affecting Sprint/Verizon users. S-off/modified firmware is no longer required. All ROMs built after April 28 should boot for all users thanks to https://review.lineageos.org/#/c/170030/
