Hello.
I have SE xperia neo. I tried to root it and now I have a problem. It looks like i have changed model number. It was MT15i and now it is MT11i. Side effects are: camera is red and flipped horizontally (there is screenshot in attachment) and my computer (PCCompanion) now thinks that I have SE xperia neo v.
I have tried flash stock kernel with flashtool but with no results.
I really need your help. Thanks ahead.

Hello, guys, after reading and using the xperia x1 section here for years, yesterday i bought xperia neo - my first android device and of course, another SE device for my history collection . Since there isnt a Neo's section here, and I believe the difference between Arc and Neo according to the software is really slight,I would like to ask you :what now: - how to check if my device is rooted (and if so or not, what to do ?... are the ARC themes and etc. in that section appliable to the neo..10x )
to check your phone root status get Root Checker from market (free).
There's a guide covering the various ways to root ones phone here.
And I wouldn't try installing the Arc themes onto anything but an Arc.
Whilst the Arc and Neo are very similar, any themes created using files extracted from an Arc are unlikely to work with a Neo.

Well, arent they having the fuction of add ons and ready akp-s?If not, then i shoul check the general Adroid theme developing,i guess ? :-o. ALso checked that my phone is not rooted but as i know, more important and lets say vital for my device to get rooted is not to be with unlocked bootloader. Is there way to find out that and most probably, if it is not, i will try rooting it with the universal program(apk) for rooting :gingerbreak http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044765
Hi,
I realize that this question might have been asked and answered several times already, but searching the forum got me nowhere really
I use Xperia ARC (but it is detected as Xperia Arc S, its OK i guess), CM version is 10-20130623-NIGHTLY-anzu; Kernel version 2.6.32.9-FXP (if i'm reading everything right)
Problem: when using camera and trying to focus by taping on screen - gallery app crashes like 8 times out of 10. I've read that I have to install proper device camera drivers. Can anyone tell how this could be done easiest way? Where to get those drivers from and where to install. I've seen somewhere on developer.sonymobile that Sony were distributing their camera drivers for such needs exactly.
Thanks for your help
Hello! Greetings to all!
I have a Xperia Arc S LT18i handset running 4.0.4 ICS build (4.1.b.0.587) at the moment. I rooted it with the conventional way described by various individuals. Used flashtool to flash the (4.1.a.0.562) kernel, then ran the doomlord toolkit (thanks doomlord for this awesome toolkit) then reflashed the 4.1.b.0.587 kernel. So my phone is then rooted, so far ok now. I checked with root checker, even checked with terminal emulator when typing "su" the "$" turns to "#" to show i m now rooted!
I have also installed CWM after rooting my device!
But then i tried to install CM9 (stable version from anzu), it described that theres a "boot.img" file in the zip which we have to flash via fastboot mode. And put the zip on sdcard. So I connected my phone via fastboot mode (I did it correctly, it displayed a blue light on notification led). Then i used flashtool>flash>fastboot mode>"select kernel to flash">(selected the boot.img given from CM9 zip). Now here's the problem. It's displaying "device not rooted"! I m completely blank of what to do. Please help! If I m unclear about my problem, I can post screenshots!

Good luck!
You need to unlock bootloader to flash custom kernels and use source ROMs like CM9
http://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/unlock-yourboot-loader/
Else you will need to use only Stock based ROMs
Problem Solved! Thanks all!
Yeah it was due to locked bootloader, thanks a lot guys, I m running LegacyXperia cm11 rom! You guys rock! Thanks a million

Hi,
I have 3 year old Sony Xperia Z1 Compact, I really love with it capabilities! Last 7 months I unlocked boot, use dual recovery. And used 3 to four roms! Now m on stock pre rooted generic Indian version of. 236 downloaded from xda!
Two issues major are
1. Mirror link doesn't connect at all to my volkswagen (
Gives error on car unit as: device not supported.)
(where as stock z ultra connects in just secs)
2. Also I cannot connect to my Sony tv says error no hdcp is supported ( I had resolved this issue of hdcp long back on my second rom but can't figure out it right now)
Give me solutions,
Also you can suggest a rom with above function working great ( Sony stock roms are welcomed) I want stock zip!
