Is anyone working on a Stock rooted 4.3? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Just wondered if anyone was working on a Stock rooted 4.3 Rom?
I don't care if knox is there or not but I need the stylus and stylus software fully working.
Thanks,
Adan

Well if you dont care about knox and voiding your warranty then there are rooting methods in the general section

True but i was hoping for a update zip without having to re-root my phone. I don't care about knox or my warranty as I'm already a year out and i have best buy insurance which means the warranty isn't important.

Is 4.3 a fota?

My grandma has a sprint Note 2 (I have an S3) and is the 4.3 a FOTA? I won't be able to get to her until like Dec 20th and root her phone.and install CM or modded stock. I told her to click no whenever possible for the update. And she said she will. But if it forces I can't help that. I'm trying to avoid KNOX.

The Sprint Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 update did not include KNOX.
Yes it is knox is on that update I had to use root to remove it . But lorjay589 has a rom with 4.3 without knox bootloader or any of the knox files that's what I'm running now. Try reading the threats for more info to help you out more.

So Knox can be removed on these phones?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
Yup it can read around the forum it can be completely non existent on 4.3 using lorjay 598 rom or removing it your self. His rom even remove the knox bootloader which prevent you from downgrading . Read the thread he has

Well she is 100% stock not rooted. Fota stands for forced ota so can she just keep tapping no until I can get to her and root it and flash a 4.3 ROM?

I had read that Samsung did not push KNOX out on the Sprint Galaxy Note 2 (4.3) update because of file size, but I found the files on my Note 2 using Elixir. I don't have the app icon, but the files are certainly loaded on my phone. Thanks for the heads up!
No problem. Some devices have the icon in the app drawer like my s4 but this does not sneaky samsung.

4.3 and KNOX

So for the people that updated to 4.3 and run ROMs such as s3rx , dandroid, infamous, etc... Did you guys not care about flash counter and warranty and just updated anyway. Or have no intentions of going to anything lower than 4.3 because risk of brick.

With 4.3 and 4.4 around the corner I am sure I will find one I like. And my phone is more then 1 year old so not worried a out the warrenty.

You can still go below 4.3 but only by flashing the ROM, not firmware

I don't think there's a way to root 4.3 stock note 2 without tripping KNOX,your best bet was not to upgrade to official 4.3 KNOX only comes into play if you care about warranty

New to rooting

I have a S3 I747 4.3 and have never rooted before. Can anyone help me to root with a Mac. It relay frustrating trying to find a method for a Mac. I tried motochopper but it didn't work

Will that work on 4.3, and what do you know about Croat?

Do you have any warranty left on your phone? If you do, rooting may trip the Knox counter and void the warranty.
I'm not worried about the warranty I just want my phone to be better

Rooting will certainly allow you to remove bloatware and the like.
Do you have VMWare on your mac? If you do, you may be able to follow one of the 4.3 rooting guides that requires a PC.
No I don't have amything. So I need a step be step that can be used on a Mac.

At&T
As a side note, rooting will not automatically make your phone better.
If you have access to a PC, try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2538991
My main reason to root it the battery, bloat ware, and free tether. Sadly I only have a Mac and its like pulling teeth trying to find a way to root for 4.3 on a dang mac . Looks like I may have to find a Buddy with a pc

Just noticed that it doesn't work on 4.3

Roms ?

So with firmware and kernel released why is there no roms. Wether it be a rooted stock, debated stock or custom KK roms.

There is a CM11 Rom, look in the development sections of this forum. It's still early days and developers need to get them first. These are not Nexus devices so you loose your warranty if you root. So far the Knox counter cannot be reset.

I found a Samsung bloat and Knox remover on the GS3 forum. Do you think it will work on our tabs ? It's supposed to remove all samsung cap and Knox as well. We all know when you root you void warranty LOL.

As for the GS3 software I'd be cautious. One example of where rooting does not void warranties is Nexus devices so it is not so obvious. I've seen a copy of a Google customer response email to that effect on the XDA Nexus 5 forum.
