I've got a Galaxy Nexus on the way for my mum bought off eBay.
I'm gonna make sure it's updated then unlock it, root it, flash a custom kernel and just remove all the system apps she won't need.
But I was wondering about the extended batteries I've seen advertised... Are there any that actually fit in the original back case with making it a big ugly lump?

Is this any good?

Hi,
I have searched but didn't find any information, and for good reasons... They former hasn't launched globally yet.
Would it be possible to use a SG3 battery in GNex? I understand the GNex is a smaller device, but could have same battery compartment as SG3?
Anyone tried? If it's possible, imagine the battery benefits... But me thinks Sammy is a little smarter than that
Thanks!

Why not just buy an extended battery.. basically the same capacity and a guaranteed fit.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Just buy the GNex extended battery...
I wanted to get the Verizon one since it's pretty much OEM quality, but cannot ship to Canada...
I prefer to stick with OEM, which is why I am wondering if a battery swap could work... Hmmm

The Verizon battery won't even fit in your phone.

The Verizon battery won't fit the GSM model.

Verizon battery won't fit. The Samsung extended battery for the GSM model is OEM.
Where can I obtain the Samsung extended battery for GSM?
What's the capacity?
I am still interested in seeing if anyone had luck using SG3 battery in GNex...
Thanks

Samsung one is 2050mAh
It won't make a difference. Just buy a battery that is guaranteed to work.

They're all over eBay from Korean sellers, about $30-$35 right now including a new back cover (you need it).
The SGSIII one won't fit. Just buy the 2000mAh Samsung GNex one.
Just Google Samsung Galaxy Nexus OEM extended battery..
The vzw one won't fit.. you could always just buy a after market battery with the same mAh tho

I had a verizon nexus two phones ago and i am going through my desk drawer of random electronics, i have two batteries and the micro-usb stand alone charger that chargers one battery at a time, i have a brand new back cover for the phone and the black two piece belt clip holster (holds phone screen in often called clam shell) and they are of no use to me, i could problably sell them for a couple bucks but then i thought someone here could use them. Both batteries have only been charged a few times, i could not deal with the radio issues as this was my primary phone and returned the phone. PM me if you are interested or have any questions.
Interested in a battery what would u sell the battery for with shipping

Yeah I would like the stand alone charger. What are you asking?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Ok, two batteries and charger seem to be spoken for how about the case or back cover? Anyone?
Case with holster please and is the back cover for the extended battery. My kid broke mine in half

All the stuff has been spoken for as of this afternoon. And my desk drawer is less cluttered now
Sent from my Verizon S3 with locked bootloader but I would love to change my signature.
Hey, thanks man.

I would appreciate any experiences with these or another recommendation that is not overpriced like the Seidio or Mugen.

Okay I just ordered the trexcell, we'll see how it works out.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Trexcell is good, a full charge enough for a day of moderate-heavy usage. Best in its price range. I used it for almost half a year until I started missing the sleekness of the phone and started hating the huge tumor on the back. If you can deal with the weird shape in exchange for awesome battery life, go for it. I just settled for two extra slim batteries that I can swap out.
Qcell 4100 mah is the best battery for its price(20$) comes in either white or black back cover to match your phone. If you check the qcell thread youll see mine and many other positive reviews and pics of it.

There is none in stock anywhere, I was going to get it.

Its in stock at amazon, just looked.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I don't see any in stock. It doesn't matter I got my trexcell today, but these are not in stock.

I just checked they only have the white one in, I need black. Its weird it wouldn't show on the amazon app when I looked it up but I went to the website and it showed on there.

I'm thinking in getting the Galaxy Nexus, price is nice.
I'd buy this version "Samsung I9250 Galaxy Nexus 16GB" that is GSM, which extender battery will work why that model?
I understand that the i9250 is not LTE, so, I cannot use the LTE extender battery from Samsung?
I'm confused, please help me!
Best regards.
That is correct. The battery door and shape are very slightly different so they are not interchangeable. Samsung has an OEM extended battery you can buy on eBay with shipping from South Korea.

Wow, thanks for your email.
That OEM extended battery fits in the stock backcover?
Do you have a link for buying the battery? (Amazon or Ebay)
Thanks!

The OEM extended battery does not fit in the stock back cover. If you buy one it should come with its own door.

Yeah. The bottom the the stock door bends in towards the phone. The new one will follow the curvature of the bottom of the phone, making it as if the battery door was just part of the back. Find pictures to see what I mean.

I have then official extended battery for my gsm nexus. Definitely worth it I think. Should have just came with the phone.

Thanks for all your replies.
Do you have an amazon or ebay link where I can buy that OEM extended battery?
Does it include the back cover?

I don't see it in Amazon
Instead of using an extended battery I use a pocket USB charger. My phone is connected by a USB to the charger which is in my pocket. The charger holds 5000 mah so I can use it for any least 3 days.
Also it was for only $30 at future shop so it's a good deal.

im trying to find a practicle portable usb charger but they are all too big and require u to carry around a cable to plug it in. which one did you buy? sounds pretty insane if its small and fits in your pocket with the phone AND packs in 5000mah. did u mean 500mah?

Thanks, Do U Happen To have A Link For Amazon Or Ebay, Or Wherever U Found It?
I use the 3800 seido battery with NFC and it works fine. Just do a search on amazon. Don't buy generic Chinese crap. It won't last as long and its not a true 3800.
The supposed 2100 extended is a joke. The phone comes with 1850. They expect an extra few ma to last longer...don't bother.
I can go a full day with my seido. U pay a little more but its worth it to not have to charge all the time.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
I believe you can search in Amazon the Samsung Spring Extended NFC battery or something along those lines, and it should come up. That's what I did with my Verizon phone.
