I really hate doing it this way (for sake of keeping a "clean" device). For those of us that are anal, you can always type *#0808# at the dialer and select MTP+ADB to keep the debugging menu hidden. Actually anything with ADB will enable USB debugging without having to go through those hoops. To each their own though...

No it doesn't. There are no options available for the app to even allow this. Perhaps there is an app out there that allows you to open up a certain app when it's plugged in, just like how there is one to turn off wifi and such.
OP you definitely have a lot ot time on your hands
Nice job
Nice,, I am going to make me one of those.
HAHA. I have to LOL.
yea you do have a lot of time on your hands. hehehe

The best desk clock/alarm app I have found is Kaloer Clock: http://www.kaloer.com/kaloer-clock
Not only it looks better (IMO) than the Samsung desk app, but it is simpler and it can come on automatically when connected to power. Moreover, you can set it so it comes on automatically when powered only during certain hours.
And it's free
good find, I'm gonna try this bad boy out.
there are two big problems with this docking station....
number one-- those are erector set pieces... way better than legos...
and where is the A/V cables that plug into your tv? (step your game up)
two thumbs up tho... ima make one outta fiberglass...
My 9 year old son made me a Lego desk cradle also, took him 10 minutes and mine had a Lego guy on top keeping an eye on things. I love it!

I'm going to have to go down to the basement and rummage through everything to find my Legos now. Thanks guys
My DD had her legos out all week. I played with her, so the time I spent wasn't exactly wasted. Too, I was inspred by this thread (and the lack of available hardware).
picasa
went through some of my toys in the attic today and found the LEGOs so i said lets see how creative i can get lol i think i might super glue it all together though because if not im sure my cat will walk away with a little flag or something first pic was taken by my phone and because our cameras batteries were dead i took the second pic with my girls phone (Samsung Katalyst)

If any of the devs feel like doing it, sure lol. I could see some battery drain issues though because that means the front buttons would have to be polling still when the screen is off.
I'm usually all for extra possibilities, but this one is kinda meh.
Why would anyone ever prefer sliding over pushing a hardware button once?
This would be great to extending the life of the phone's natural power button...but I'd be on to a different phone long before this button mechanism on my phone have a chance to think of failing. Maybe good for people who keeps there phone for over 2 years?
Palm pre wants its life back....

This would be faster. I hope someone ports the mod.

How would it be faster to swipe across all 4 capacitive buttons than press the power button? Pressing the power button takes literally a split second. Keep in mind this mod doesn't unlock the phone, it just turns the screen on. You still have to unlock from the lock screen like you normally would. I agree it would likely drain the battery because the phone could never fully sleep if it's constantly looking for input from the capacitive buttons.

Anything to make the power button last longer I'm for..
I could see the phone getting unlocked constantly in your pocket.
My screen times out often, especially while reading... I hate reaching for the power button. To me this would be easier. However 2 things will keep me away:
1. Battery Life concern
2. Unlock in the pocket
I would definitely try it
i have beenw anting this since the og evo...i dont have the biggest hands and loved how all the older android phones had hard buttons at the bottomt hat made it wake
PLEASE PORT THIS SOMONE PLEASEEEEEEEE
This port would be nice.
I'm on 4.2.1 with the Paranoid Android Rom (version 3.0).
Today while writing to a friend in WhatsApp suddenly the screen went black.
Now I'm not able to turn it on anymore. It doesn't work with and without connected charger.
What are my options to try before sending it in?
Is my warranty void due to the fact that I've got PA installed and the device rooted?
Bend tab up about middle ways up in the charging port that is why I swapped my gnex for a sg3 I didn't like having to do that every other day

Where you plug your charger there is a small tab take a tooth pick, small knife , or something like that I used a small flathead from my phone kit and push the tab up about in the middle towards the led light (front of phone) no more than middle ways and that will give your phone a charge you most likely had a false charge like I did and other people from what u have heard

Please pull the battery before starting to bend! Put it back in and see if you can get anything. Maybe try a key combo to boot, like volume up+down+power.
Is there a device a can get to snap a picture remotely? I'm trying to use my phone to take a picture of my family for our Christmas card. My Note 3 camera is actually better than my old point and shoot, so I'd like to use it. I'm hoping there is some way I can press the button on my bluetooth headset to snap the picture instead of having to touch the phone screen.
I could connect a tv to the phone and mirror the screen so I can see what the picture will look like before snapping it, right?
Why not use the timer
NOTE 3
Turn on voice command and you can say shoot, cheese, and like 2 other words and it'll take a pic for you. I tried it last night since I got this thing yesterday and it works great

The smartq zwatch had this feature along with many other cool features. It's only $99 and is a fully featured smart watch. You should really check it out in the Other Watches forum.

I'm not sure if it's my phone or if it just doesn't work well but having loads of issues with it. Sometimes it works repeatedly other times it just won't recognize my finger. Not sure what to do about it
Sent from my phone using Tapatalk
the fingerprint scanner works but its not consistent. I was able to get it to work better by scanning the same finger using different angles (i.e. side of the finger, then scan the tip, then scan the other side...) but it still doesnt always work the first or second attempt.
it actually ended up being more of a hassle to use, so I switched back to the standard swipe screen.
Yeah I'm thinking about giving up on it as well. I like using it for lastpass but not sure if it's enough to deal with the inconsitency. I'll try registering another finger print as you mentioned

Yes working great for me.

I use an app called "wear unlock" and linked it to my moto 360, if the phone leaves the range of my watch it automatically locks with a hard password.
But it means in normal use I just swipe to unlock which is awesome!
Yea works great for me as well. When registering swipe vertically for the first 5 and then horizontally for the last five. And try to swipe at different angles. If u really want to be accurate u can scan the same finger twice, but I honestly haven't had to do this. Also sometimes when swiping, push the button when coming down seems to work alot more that way

It takes a fair amount of time to get used to. I'm at 2 weeks now on mine, and I can usually hit it first or second time now. I find it quite handy, but now that winter is coming, I'm wondering how well it will work with cold chapped fingers. Cases also interfere with swiping.
I wish you could specify a PIN with a fingerprint instead of a 6 character password.

The same here. It did take a bit to get used to, but it recognizes my fingerprint swipe everytime.

I already notice a difference after a long hot shower - I would imagine no different being out in the cold as well. I will put it to the test as soon as I go on my first snowboarding trip of the season
I've found it to be pretty useless unfortunately, Apple definitely did a better job in that department, albeit at the cost of some extra real estate.
It works well if you scan different angles on your finger.
Personally haven't had a chance to try the Apple version but as for our phones it is quite big so I would recommend at least have some side swipe scans in there so you can scan with one hand.
Never accurate for me. Can never get it to recognize the first time. Had to stop using it out of frustration.

That ends up taking longer to unlock the phone. I know it's more secure but swiping twice or someone three times is frustrating.

Yes, it takes longer. I'm Ok with that though for a little bit of security. Is just as fast as the numeric pin I used to type in...
