I have an htc one x update and I want a new rom that gives me better nettwork connection and longer battery life. Can anyone help me with that? Never done this before. If possible I would love to get an ABC list over What to do and maybe in norwegian? Please?
Well, trying searching here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-x
You could get better solutions there! This is a wrong section to ask!

Hi,
I really hope you can help...
I'm looking for a fast, stable rom for my P3600 (danish version). I don't think that there is any 6.0/6.1 danish rom out there, so an english would be great.
Sooo... please give me some recommandations. I would like to try it out tonight...
/Malke
Please, not another "recommend me a ROM" thread!

Not a very usefull answer. Its understandable, that you as an expert regard this as a stupid question, but I simply havent got the time to read through more than 50 pages of posts - sorry.
On the contrary - a link to a page like this would have been usefull: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=385579
I found it, installed it, and it works brilliant! This could have saved me from hours of reading...

...and still you've learnt from it on your own rather than me or someone else giving you a link to what we like.
We all went through almost every ROM till settling for one. Ones were too [email protected]#, others were too $%^ and so on. The point is that liking a ROM is subjective, many users like speed, others like functionality, others the looks, others prefer memory, others prefer lots of apps, others prefer ballance!
Which one of those are you? Can you answer this question without trying at least one ROM from every category I've listed?
People don't answer to threads like yours for two main reasons:
1. there are plenty similar threads started and people get tired of giving same answers to same questions posted by users who are not willing to use the search function to get the info. Hey, it is always easier to just post and ask, huh?
2. ROMs are subjective like the people who make them, like the people using them. We like sweet, others bitter, some love blondes, others redheads, I like fast ROMs, others app packed. Bottom line: free will! Let the user decide for his ROM/chef of his choice. Plus, reading the ROM thread tells you almost everything about bugs, fixes, tweaks, tips, etc.
There's no bad blood in it, it's just we're too tired of answering a question that has been asked so many times and which can't even be answered!
Hope it's clear now!
P.S.: Thanks, but I'm not even 5% close of being an expert, but I search and read alot!

And maybe it wouldn't be so messy, if there wasn't so many threads created just to ask a question that has already been answered in 10 similar threads. Or threads created to ask a question about and issue of a particular ROM, when it should be asked in the ROM thread....
Many situations contribute to the mess you're refering to...
Even the forum search has been enhanced with google search, directly in the forum's search function, but still, it seems to be easier to many users, to just ask instead of searching.
Sometimes a thread is started with something like this:
"I've searched for this but couldn't find it...."
When this happens, search some more, use different keywords, because 95% of the times, the question has already been answered before.
I'm not flaming anyone with this, and I don't have nothing against noobs, as i consider myself one, but please use search, read and then read some more.
I don't know if this would be possible or not. There are a LOT of rom's available for the evo. Coming from the Hero I can't believe how many rom developers there are for the Evo. It would be nice on the rom wiki to have 2 extra columns on the table to tell whether it is SenseUI or non-SenseUI and to tell if the rom is fully functional(4G and camera working). I don't know if this could be added but it would be very useful when looking at the rom wiki. I understand if it is not something that can be easily added. Good job on the rom wiki by the way.
moved to general section as its not development.
on another note to answer your question. yes you can update the wikis if you like anyone can for that matter. every contribution helps no matter how big or small.
Hello *,
I just added a wiki page to the XDA Dev wiki together with some links from the development forum.
Please feel free to edit the page and add the information you deem important.
Cheers,
CS
Nice work!
I've stickied this thread in the General forum for everyone to see.
P.S. I fixed the Android logo and added a redirect on the main index photo

Why don't you sticky Sorensiims "How I mod my defy" topic?
Thank you!
Would you mind making it also sticky in the dev sub-forum? As most of the links point to dev-resources and since many questions arise concerning these topics it might help people to get started.
Looks great! Nice to have all the information gathered in one place.. will be helpful when I finally dive into the world of rooting/flashing after my exams
added new section: Recover Nearly Bricked Phone (hopefully)
if anyone wants to contribute, feel free.
will take some time until i posted everything i know
(quite busy right now...)
thanks guys!
This along with other guides saved my ass so thank you for this majorily appreciated

very nice
There should be a directory for all of these wiki pages. With all this info in one place, more unregistered users will end up registering just to be able to access this stuff.

T-Mobile 3.4.2
The "Android 2.2 (Froyo) Stock ROMs" section on the Wiki needs to be updated to reflect the 3.4.2 T-Mobile ROM
IP67 it fake in Thailand don't work.
can't proof water (Some Device)
can't Proof dust (some device)
Can't Proof scratch on Screen Gorrila Glass. cause Key Scratch in my pocket.
Just updated the custom ROMs section.
Add cm7 Tom too
Sent from my MB525 cm7quarx
Dumb question: Asking here since the development forum isnt open to me yet.
I have CM7 beta5.1 but there's been alot of force close of android.media process. I want to reflash 5.1 but the custom recovery does not recognize the SD card. Is there a suggestion on that account which may be of use?
Else it may be included
Maybe an update for the Nordic ROM 2.2.2 as well

Great. Thx very much!...i searched a lot for Eclair but now it`s so easy
It's very good!Thank you!
I NEED to find the best ROM out there for the G2/Desire Z! let me know what you think it is!!
-Post what rom it is.. INCLUDING Build Number
-Explain why it is the best!
-Post a screenshot of your favorite screen i.e wallpaper..favorite widget etc..
If you could, let me know how good battery life is and stability!
-Looking for an everyday rom.. if possible
-Thanks!
Please do no post in the general section and the question and answer section at the same time. it will not help you in getting your question answered.
This question has been answered (debated) many many many times in many many many threads. Its all subjective to the user who will be using it. You'll find people from all ROMs saying that its great.
OP I suggest you try them all and just keep nandroid backups of each and find out for yourself to see which you like the best. They all have pros and cons.
Hey all, I've been searching for a couple of months and all the links for joyos on the epic 4g touch are now dead and gone. If anyone has the file on their computer and wouldn't mind posting a link I would appreciate it, yes I know the rom is old, but after going through rom after rom after rom, Joyos has always stood out as my favorite

So where is this thread that you speak of that has dead links?
I see one thread for the E4GT requesting a port that I can't seem to find that took place. I see the Epic 4G video from QbKing.. all kinds of other variants.. Maybe I'm over looking it..
I know we had it on the Shift, they never updated past Gingerbread

I get that the thread you linked is a request to bring it to the Touch (and that's the one I could find) but the way your OP reads is as if it was already done and now the links are dead..
So at this point it seems as if it's still a request to make it happen.
You could reach out to @VeNuM and ask him if he still has his previous work.
Or @locoboi187 and see if they still have it.. Looks like it was shared on IRC only and no dev thread was made here for it..
The link you shared has this post.
Looks like barnacles got JoyOs's link for ya. If you want heres LewaOs
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/65463789/LewaAlphav0.01.zip
Flash from el26!
To turn data on go to System settings - Mobile Networks - Access Point Names - and click the dot for sprint.
Just to let you know this is a extremely alpha build. I don't think the camera works... might have some force closes. Not a daily driver.
It's located on the second to last page. It downloads something. Maybe reach out to barnacles(the mentioned dev) or _dan(poster) and see what exactly LewaAlphav0.01.zip is
Edit: after Googling a bit, I found that LewaOS is similar to JoyOS. I have yet to find anything downloadable for JoyOS, but I did find some porting guides, so it can be done
