Dear guys,
I've been trying to get my LGE975 international device to run on E97520a-EUR-XX, but I had no success on flashing. My device was running on E97510h-232-10, yesterday I updated to E97520a-232-10. If I flash back the E97510H_00.kdz via KDZ Updater in 3GQCT, CS_Emergency, but it says that my sw version is E97510h-232-10... My apps and settings are gone for some times, but my background image...
I think, that the "232-10" part is referring to an MCC-MNC code. It is saying that the referred carrier is the Austrian H3G. I checked the kdz file size, and it is matching with the referred download link on the following site http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=20
What I really want is that make a full, clear flashing procedure to get the original E97510h-EUR-XX, and then update to E97520a-EUR-XX via the official LG support tool.
What lg firmware (kdz or zip) should I use, and
what is the proper method (software, and setting) to flash the file?
Thank you for your reply,
YS, Mate Palocska
You should use E97510H.kdz. I doubt it would work with the kdz updater, there is a better kdz flasher you can use. Flashing the E97520a.kdz will be exactly the same as updating via the support tool, so I'd recommend just flashing the 20a kdz.
Is that makink a full clear, deep software change? For me, it seems like that only the characters stated with underline "_" in the SW version "E975___-232-10" are changing.
Not clearing my apps, even my background image stays the same
Should I make a hard reset before flashing? Or should I install a CWM and format the entrie /system partition?

I'm a little confused here, if you flash a kdz it restores your phone to a factory fresh-like software state.

So I tried to hard reset, and flash - SW version stayed [...]_232-10
Rooted, installed FreeGee, and flashed TWRP:
made a full wipe, including all caches, and system partition - no OS to boot.
put into download mode and flashed the kdz, same result
So it seems like that I'm using the wrong KDZ to install. (E97510H_00.kdz - 1 026 643 KB)
I really need the exact link to the KDZ to E97510H-EUR-XX

I have found the link to E97510D which is a little outdated yes but you can do a software update once you're installed. Here's the link http://csmgdl.lgmobile.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=FW238386573210987654321/E97510D_00.kdz

Thanks for the link.
It seems like that my SW version is changing well 10H, 20A, 10D. But my version postfix "232-10" stays the same. As I wrote previously, is it possible, that the postfix number is referring to a specific carrier's mcc-mnc? If so, is it possible, that my bootloader somehow locked to that carrier, and no matter what eur-xx version is being installed, the sw version postfix "232-10" is every time stays the same?

Have the same "problem' to 466-92 and I'm on Artmod that is v20A euro-xx based, flashed befor the euro KDZ and nothing, the same numbers.
I think is the flash method used, because I used the simple method that works with my windows 8.1.
I dont understand whats wrong with having 232-10 as the sw postfix. Seems fine to me.

Well, the 232-10 version is not containing any information about my carrier (21601). Therefore when I'm on 3G, there are a lot of wakelocks keeping my device awake (like 1hr awake vs 12min screen time). After some research, it seems liket that this is because my carrier does not provide fast dormacy, and my device is not receiving any confirmations so the 3g modem wont close the connection after the data transmit completed. That is caught in the huge amounts of wakelock "msm_hsic_host", and the com.android.internal.telephony.ACTION_CHECK_NETSTAT alarm.
I tried to modify telephony.db / dcm_settings table, but there is no record for 21601, just for 21630 - which is an another carrier here). I modified the row to 21601 and turned fastdormancy to 0. The result is that there are still a lot of wakelocks, but from another activities. This wakelock-killing chain leaded to the point, where I had to disable a lot of google service that I find useful and innovative, and I'm getting tired of this.
I also tried to flash a custom kernel, but with the stock firmware, I found it impossible
I hope I can fin a solution soon
Not sure about European OGs and carrier specifics. In the UK the only OGs are unlocked E975s.
for me i locked in gsm mode, any thing i flash it just keep in gsm, i dont know what to do now, restore to carrier stock and its the same , some one what can i do?

maybe it is because somehow flashed an other country's modem, and that modem is trying to use a different frequency for 3G/4G/LTE, than your carrier does. so your phone cannot access the network throught that bad freq.
flash the corresponding modem from here http://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B3AKIYS66ogAOUVOa2VjVjl1Uk0, and you might be getting correct 3G or LTE
I've already tested and is not a problem with the modem, it is a problem with m9kefs1 file, which contains the information of the Radio, i can get signal, but only gsm, that is why i need to know if anyone can give me a copy of that file, ideally someone from South America, because that way I can replace it with the copy that i have of my efs folder that i made with freegee.
I have royally bricked my US990, any time it boots up it goes to fastboot, including trying to enter download or recovery mode. Also, it's not rooted (I was trying to return to stock), so if I try to erase or flash aboot/laf/recovery, it just hangs. So I'm trying to follow this guide to recover it, but I need a TOT or BIN file to use it, and so far all I've been able to find are KDZ versions of the US990 firmware. I've tried following a couple guides to convert them to a BIN, but so far haven't had much luck. The .cab files LGExtract creates aren't valid, neither 7zip nor cabextract can open them, and P970 ROM CONVERTER doesn't work either. Most versions of WindowsLGFirmwareExtract crash when trying to extract individual BINs from the DZ, although the one included with ImagePrepGUI works. So I now have individual BINs, but no partition.txt
I have several different options for KDZs to work from, I'm trying to use US99023a, which I believe is the latest Lollipop update. I also have the LS990 ZVA tot, which I've extracted. It looks like the bin/img files from the kdz are the same as the mbn's that BoardDiag produces, is that right? And can I use the ZVA partitions.txt with the files from the US99023a kdz to get this thing running again? Or, if I try it and it fails, will it be any worse off than it is right now?
Update: the LS990 partition.txt was good enough to get download mode working again, from there I could use the Mobile Support Tool to reflash. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't work permanently though, since several of the files are different sizes. I would still really like to put together a TOT for us poor folks with the US990. It seems like I have a complete set of .bin files, except misc.bin and userspace.bin. Can anyone help me put this together into a flashable TOT or BIN, just so I can upload it for the next guy who needs it?

It would help if you were more specific about what you are trying to do.
With that said, are you talking a stock kdz or a rooted system image? If a rooted system image you can do it with TWRP-in-FiSH, provided you can obtain the one you want from a member who provides his own TWRP-in-FiSH system image backup but you can't do a stock KDZ. Cross-flashing any different model firmwares, at this stage (until steadfasterX completes and publishes his boot loader unlock process), runs a high risk of a hard brick.

Hi Sdembiske, I read about the unnofficial bootloader unlock: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/bl-unlock-unlock-bootloader-proof-t3648288 and it seems H812 is not fully tested yet (see Proofs section). I'm not brave enough to try it on my phone until it has been fully tested. I know if everyone thought like me, there would be no progress... Thank god theres some brave people out there....

Thx. I was provided a tot of genysys with Twrpinfish injected. Just thought there might be a way. Also, itd be neat to flash my kdz or tot from the device
Thx to @the_naxhoo for this tot
Also there seems to be easy ways to edit a kdz with hex editors apps than winhex for example, which requires a hefty priced pro add-on. BTW I've flashed different region kdz with LGUP without issues.

Being able to flash different region kdz's is very Model specific - e.g. H815 International/Europe version plus a very limited number of other models and only one or two with locked bootloaders (most of which have issues from what I can tell). Some models, like the H812 are locked up tighter, running a very high risk of hard bricks screwing around with other model/region firmware flashing- So again, you have to be specific.
Apologies. I own a H815T and have flashed H815 kdz's , so my question is- if there is any way to zip a kdz for flashing, extract correct partitions for the zip , edit the kdz for flashing from the device etc, i think it would be a pretty handy tool
Just a thought.

Sorry if I'm asking in the wrong place but I followed your guide to bullet proof method to get started with SALT - FWUL 2.5 persistent.
I get to the welcome screen but when I press enter on 'FWUL 2.5 persistent' it says no such directory.
I have chosen -linux ,arch linux32bit (64bit wasn't available on my laptop) after following steps to create the .vdi drive in VirtualBox directory
Nevermind ,I had to use x64 arch Linux.

We should move this over to the FWUL thread.
First, confirm you have downloaded only from this location in the FWUL OP for the persistent versions (my concern here is that you have downloaded a forgetful version):
https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=214529
Make sure you are running the latest version of (Windows) VirtualBox and that you have installed the Extension Pack as well.
Even if your Windows PC/laptop is 32bit, the VirtualBox drop-down menu should allow you, in the 'New' setup menu, to select Linux and under that entry, the 64bit Arch Linux OS (it should be right above or below the 32bit version in the drop-down menu) - that is what FWUL is based on ... i.e., it doesn't matter that your PC/laptop is 32bit.
Ensure you are matching your .img file name in the conversion command exactly to the persistent .img file name you downloaded, extracted and moved over to the VirtualBox original install folder to run the conversion command. Copying and pasting the conversion command from my post, is the most error free way to do it, provided the file name matches exactly to the .img file you downloaded.
Important: Insure you have enough available hard drive space on you PC/laptop to install the size of FWUL .vdi disk you created, in addition to the .img file you downloaded.
Check the following two locations on your PC/Laptop hard drive for the .vdi file you created from the conversion command.
C:\Users\Your_User_Name\VirtualBoxVMS
C:\Users\Your_User_Name\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\
If you need to try again, remove the FWUL install and delete all FWUL related files - double check the two file locations above to make sure there are no FWUL related files there whatsoever.
Any further questions, please post to the FWUL thread.
Thanks dude. It worked :good:

you absolutely don't need to back up every file because you have the kdz available. There are really just a handful of partitions that identify that phone you should backup; ftm, fsg, modem, modemst1 and modemst2 (both a and b sides if the partition has a and b). (these partitions have your imei / sn in them).
some additional partitions you could also backup; abl, laf, boot, xbl, vbmeta. But, keep in mind, because the kdz is available, you can use the kdz extractor utilities to get those partitions from it.
those that need full backups are those that have sprint and at&t phones, as there are no kdz available for them.
im on the same boat, i have the g820um sprint and i messed and never backup anything up, i somehow ended flashing what i thought was sprint backup files but turns out it was att backup files it worked and got my phone working again BUT twrp cant flash or erase anything and my imei is zeroed out but i dont care about that, what i do care is getting some other rom flashed like GSI or LOS android 10 no higher
