Hey,
does the case "stick" in your pocket, as thats the problem I have with most rubber cases
Thanks for the reply

Most of the back of the case is covered in a poly carbonate outside shell so there's not too much of the rubbery TPU part exposed. So no... Not bad at all.

Hi,
I just wanted to know if this case interferes with the flash when taking pictures. Like does the light from the flash bounce off the case and mess up the pictures. I hope you understand this. Sorry, this was kind of hard to explain. :silly:
Thanks

This case looks excellent. I'll be keeping watch on their blog from here on out to see when I can pre-order.
I had one on my s2. First week it was fantastic..
After that, garbage. The lining portion they provide stretches and causes a gap in between the back of the phone and the lining. Got pretty annoyed with it and threw it away.

They have updated it.
So what's different? In previous versions a silicone cover was used. However, we've updated the series is a new TPU material. This new material is still as soft and dust-resistant, but with added durability and protection. Perhaps the best update on the new Neo Hybrid for the Galaxy S3 is that there is absolutely NO sagging or expanding of the TPU cover due to heat from device.Great news to all Neo Hybrid fans out there!

It ses the harder material sits on the phone, while the softer TPU material is on the outside. Seems like that is scratches just waiting to happen. Now reverse that so that TPU inside, hard shell outside, and add an optional belt clip and I'll take 2!!!

Did you read the website?
The Galaxy S3 Neo Hybrid Case Series will be the same dual concept as the Galaxy S2 and iPhone. The case features a TPU cover with a hard polycarbonate frame. The TPU material protects the phone by absorbing shock from any accidental drops. The hard plastic frame protect the phone from scratches and scuffs. Having both the advantages of a hard and soft case makes the Neo Hybrid an all-around protective solution.

The frame (outside) is PC (hard). The cover, TPU, absorbs the shock.
Your phone wont be getting scratches with this case.
Bummer... the TPU is blue only the border of the hard case is white.
I've never clicked on their blog, and but they have really good stuff. Nano Clear Giveaway?? eek!

Has anyone had this case on the Nexus or other phone? Are they high-quality cases? (They appear to be pretty darn good.)
I like how there still appears to be lots of room around the home button for my fat thumb! Many other cases seem to have a lower lip that protrudes close to the home button...
Thanks!

I was watching this earlier when I did a YouTube search. When I saw the design for the Fusion and Ultra Hybrid, I was immediately attracted to the Ultra Hybrid. The Fusion looks a bit too round for me, which is a shame since I loved the Fusion case for the Nexus 4.
great review, thanks
edit: i think your spigen case might be ok, you might just have to peel off the plastic in the front and back just like the ringke.

I was also going to ask this, did you actually remove the plastic films on the Spigen one? because it doesn't have a message like the Ringke to remove it but they're there and I'm almost certain you didn't remove them because when you were comparing them it looked hazy.
Does the Ringke come with an option for a solid black back instead of clear?

Nope. That would be the Slim series but thats another case.
Damn I thought the Ultra hybrid would be about the same size as the Fusion... I like smaller cause my hands are not large. Unfortunately I order an ultra hybrid if I would have seen this before that I would have bought the Fusion! Anyone want to buy my Ultra hybrid?? lol it hasnt come in yet but idk I may need to sell it and buy the fusion instead..lol

I thought mine was scratched too, but you need to peal both the front and back protectors off.
I have both as well. The Spigen is higher quality, but the Rearth is slightly smaller and much more comfortable to hold due to the rounded edges. Also the buttons are easier to press on the Rearth.
So far I have all the Spigen cases and the Rearth and I really don't like any of them. I have a Supcase and a Diztronic on their way. Having a PITA time finding a decent case for this thing. I know I'll like the Diztronic, but I am really, really hoping UAG comes out with a case for us (they likely won't).

just got my diztronic. give me a few minutes to gather some thoughts about it.
Edit: Alright. First off, it looks very nice and sleek, and it definitely does not add as much size as the neo hybrid did (that thing literally gave the N5 the height and width of a Note 3). Fit and finish is OK, not quite as good as sgp or even the older Diztronic cases I remember having on my ATT One X. There is a little bit of flash at the bottom edge under the charging port, so if you usually rest your pinky near the charging port, you will feel a little bit of sharpness. Other than that, the case is pretty formfitting. The buttons actually have a nice click feedback, and it doesn't feel like the case is constantly putting pressure on the buttons when they are not pressed, which is VERY good thing and something I cannot say for most cases. Overall, a solid case, and definitely knocked the neo hybrid away. Waiting for the Supcase for further comparison and judgement.
so it seems that the diztronic wins over spigen and spigen wins over ringke fusion....hmm..
i wonder why no one here mentioned the slim armor from spigen...with all the differences of opinion and no seemingly "excellent" case out there (and with slim armor my preferred one ahving button problems) i dont know what to do ! please do post your reviews people specially if you have multiple cases and which one you like best

[VIDEO] Spigen Ultra Hybrid Case Review / First Look - Google Nexus 5

When I purchase a device, I'm on the search for some protection immediately. This case was available for purchase around the release date of the Nexus 5 so I jumped on it and the GLAS.tR (installed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=HIWv8zNgXpY).
For $10 I can't complain much about the case. It doesn't add too much bulk and keeps the phone safe under most situations. The buttons are easy to push, however some have mentioned they are too easy to push.
While playing games in landscape mode, it hasn't solved my personal issue with covering up the speaker on accident. A case would require a lot of padding around this area to fix that.
This case is only available through Amazon. I'll add the direct link if requested.
Thank for this video

Decent video but arrgh! the corner of your screen protector was bugging me. Did the case do that or was it already like that?
I got my case two days ago.
I must say, overall, the case is very nice.
I love the way the buttons are so easily pressed with little effort, feels great.
Only real problem I've found is that the headphone opening will not accommodate my AudioTechnica m50 over sized 3.5 mm jack. I'l started to file the opening to make it larger so I can fit my headphones plug.
A bit disappointing for a very nice case, but I can live with it.
Could anyone recommend on a good and not expensive headset that can fir with this case?

Looks like I might grab one of these.
Do you know this compares to the rearth ringke fusion (particularly the side buttons)?
I remember the ringke case for the nexus 4 was notorious for being hard to push.
Does this case get scratched easily since it's transparent and plastic I'm guessing. Also are there any other cases available with similar design just a frosted translucent back?? I'm looking for such a case for my phone

The buttons are actually really easy to push. In the beginning I almost felt the case was pushing down on the buttons. Any slight breeze of your finger over the power and it would depress. Over time I think that quit though.
I've never tried that other case.

Just asked my wife and she said it didn't scratch too easily. I'm checking out cases for the S5, and apparently not all clear backs scratch too easily. There's one company (no Nexus 5 case) that has a clear hard back with a rubbery feel too it. My 1 year old daughter test it out and it does a good job of resisting scratches.

Warning to anyone using the Ringke Slim case...

I'm sure people have probably mentioned this already but I just wanted to show you guys what the sharp edges on the case can do to your phone after removing the case. Very disappointed with Rearth, never had this issue with the N4 slim case and it was much easier to remove as well.
That looks awful! ;(

You should be able to request a refund without having to ship the case back. Just tell them that this case is unusable/defective, which it is honestly. I also left a review on Amazon with the picture to warn people as well.
What made this even more painful though is I waited 3 weeks for this case to arrive (I'm in Canada so not sure if it was a customs thing) and I did just fine without any protection
Gah! I have this case... I guess i'll try never to take it off... Can you recommend some alternative cases if I ever do have to hide a scar like that?

Wow, this sucks. I have N5 Ringke Slim case (haven't put it on a phone yet) but the edges doesn't seem to be that sharp.
The key is to bend the case while taking it off and on.

lmao.
All rigid cases can cause this. Gaps in between the phone and the case cause abrasion and will wear off the urethane soft touch finish. Go for a TPU or silicon case or cover your phone with a skin to prevent this.
The case will also pull your back plate off as well. I stopped using it after that. I am lucky I don't have any scratches.

Kinda glad that my case and screen protector never arrived, been over a month now, refund demanded!
is it only on the edges? if so ill just place a small piece of tape on my phone on the edges to protect it
I've had the rearth slim since it launched and have zero scratches on my phone. Not saying that this case won't scratch but I've taken it off and put it on several times without issue. It fits so snug and feels almost identical to the back of the N5 I love it. Adds quite a bit of additional grip as well

I had that case on my galaxy Nexus and when I finally took it off to sell the phone it had scratched the **** out of the back/bottom of the phone.

Get the Diztronic, have it for my N5 and had it for my N4, never a single problem and I dropped my N4 a few times even face down and it never had any damage with the Diztronic on it.
This is my greatest fear from hard cases. I only buy rubberized or tpu cases encased in a hard case.

Looking for a case like the Ringke Slim with full edge protection

I have the Ringke Slim and while I love the case I don't love the exposed top and bottom edges. I went on to try the Spigen Slim Armor but I'm not pleased with the sharp edges at the bottom, the added bulk, or the tactile feel of the buttons. Too difficult to press. The phone seems decently protected but I'm just not happy.
I want something like the Ringke Slim with full edge protection but I can't seem to find it. Any suggestions?

Says the guy that flies by the thread with a one-liner to search Amazon. Like I said, super helpful. I had a specific request. I didn't ask "where can I find cell phone cases?" You are the ass with the useless response. Just trying to troll my help request. The only way your response could be more unhelpful would be if you said "Try searching online." Please go away if you have nothing constructive to contribute.
If anyone has a specific recommendation for a brand or model I'm all ears. I've spent a considerable amount of time on Amazon, eBay and elsewhere searching and haven't found it so perhaps what I'm looking for just doesn't exist.

I just checked it out. Looks great but its polycarbonate
Why is no one making a slim TPU case like the Ringke that covers all the edges? I found tons of knockoffs on eBay but still no edge protection on any of them. Weird.
There's always "that guy" in these threads. sad.
I know it's tpu but the diztronic probably offers the best protection to slim ratio. I have them for my GS3 & 4 (also have Ringke slims) . I personally don't like them after experiencing the Ringle slim though and that's what I prefer. The Ringke actually does offer decent top and bottom edge protection as it comes up above and below the phone edges. It would have to fall just right to hit the phone edge. One thing I dislike the most about diztronic is how cheap it looks and how cheap it makes the phone look. Totally takes away from the N5 looks imo
You can lightly sand the Ringke slim sharp edges. It really works.
The ever growing more popular unobtainable LG hardcover covers the top edge. Good luck finding one though
Protection vs slim vs materials = tradeoffs

You'll never have a hardcase that provides coverage for all 4 edges and all 4 corners.
There needs to be physical bending points so you can get the phone in and out. If you had all 4 corners and edges covered it would not be possible because of the rigid material it is made of. A 1 piece hardcase by design, can never offer full protection.
TPU/Gel cases can do this because they are soft and can bend/stretch easily, hard plastic doesn't. It gives a little bend, then it snaps.
The LG Hardshell comes closest, but the exposed bottom is necessary so you can physically bend the sides out and slide the phone in. It does have the best bottom protection I've seen though, as the corners wrap further towards the centre.

If it was a softer TPU I think it would work without too many issues.
I think I'm going to try the Diztronic case. It seems like the closest thing to what I'm looking for that I can actually get my hands on right now. I'm not excited about the buttons and may need to cut them out. I love the cutouts on the Ringke Slim. They work perfectly. Third time's the charm right?????

When this LG hardcase was mentioned it didn't fully dawn on me that it was a rock hard solid plastic case - I'm a little dumb, I realize that. You are correct on all accounts.
Is the Ringke TPU? It is pretty firm. If the top and bottom were totally covered like most other cases except for a tiny bit maybe in the center (of the top and bottom edges) to provide a flex point when getting it off I think that would be perfect. Oh well.
Obviously these manufacterers should have consulted me!
