HELP! I just replaced the LCD, digitizer, frame, etc with a unit from Ebay, now the phone is stuck on the flashing "Samsung" screen. Is there any verbose boot that will display where in the boot process its getting stuck? I'd like to figure out if its a problem with one of the frame subcomponents or just an error with my assembly?
I already flashed back to DLK3 via Odin, so I know that wont fix anything.
Thanks in advance.

Hello again. This is sort of a continuation from my previous thread about trying to replace the touch screen, but it's an entirely new problem, so I figured it warranted it's own thread. Since the replacement screen that I received didn't allow touch to work, I thought I'd try going back to the old cracked screen to see if it was the screen, or the hardware. I got all the way through the process of swapping the screens, and put it back together.
Now when I try to boot up, I get the Free Xperia Project boot up screen. After about 20~30 seconds, the purple LED comes on. At that point, I'm used to seeing the Cyanogen Mod boot animation, but now it just sits on the FXP screen. After a short wait, the screen dims and there's a very tiny vibration, even shorter than the power-up vibration. If I tap Volume down during the FXP screen, and try to enter CWM, all I get is a screen full of randomized snowy rainbow colored pixels
I've tried disassembling and reassembling the phone several times. I've tried reflashing the boot image in fastboot mode, which I don't seem to be encountering any trouble with. Does anyone have any advice for me at this point? Or should I just give up and get a replacement? Thanks.

Did you follow the instructions and do you have a unlocked bootloader? ? Did you use flashtool to update the xperia play to the 2.3.4 before flashing FXP? Did you wipe dalviche cache, data reset, and cache during Clockwork mod recovery before installing the zip file? Did you download the correct zip for the Zesus file? If you downloaded zesusc =CDMA varient and zesus = GSM varient.

Thanks for your concern chery2k, but this didn't happen as a result of the FXP installation. I have been successfully running FXP for around a year now. This all started because my touch screen got stepped on and cracked, and I had the bright idea that I could buy a touchscreen replacement for $30 and do the installation myself. While I was successful (somewhat) at replacing the screen, the touchscreen itself was defective (no touch), so in my impatience, I attempted to put the cracked screen back. Once the phone was reassembled, this was the outcome. Even though nothing about the process should have directly contributed to the state of the phone, there's no telling how the frequent assembling and disassembling may have damaged the electronics or ribbons, despite how careful I tried to be.
I have regrettably downgraded back to my old HTC Eris. I'm due for an upgrade, and looking at the HTC Droid DNA, but the lack of a card slot bothers me. The SGN2 seems just too big for me as a phone. As much as I'd love more powerful hardware, it looks like I may have to find an Xperia Play on eBay or something, and pay to have the bootloader unlocked
I was trying out using a keyboard with a cheap USB OTG cable, and all was good. Then all of the sudden the screen went buggy, where ever other line of pixels was shifted to the left or the right, almost like some sort of corrupted video file. It started to reboot itself, and it got to the black screen with the Google logo and then the screen fuzzed in the same way as before. It then starts to reboot and does the same thing over and over again. I find that I can get to the recovery screen with the scroll arrows. From there, if I tell it to reboot into recovery it goes back into the same Google logo bootloop. I then went back to the original recovery screen and I decide to try out adb to see if it works. Sure enough it does, and I unwisely start flashing a stock 4.2 bootloader image. However, while it is flashing the screen does the same fuzz thing and and stays fuzzed. Then it doesn't respond to anything. I take out the battery, and try to restart and with will not turn on at all, no vibration, no light from the screen, nothing. I tried a unbricking methods from there, and nothing can make it come back alive. Any ideas?
Additional info:
GSM tajkju
Bootloader unlocked
Running stock unrooted 4.2 that I flashed manually

hate to start a thread as a lot of answers are already available by searching but Ive tried and no luck , so heres my issue:
I have a s3 with rogers and was flashing new roms successfully for a couple weekends and one day my phone dropped and when I when I picked it up the screen was not cracked at all but there was some pinkish discoloration at the bottom right of my screen, but there was no signs of the lcd cracked behind the glass. as the day progressed the discoloration took over the screen and eventually went black.
so in order to send it in I needed to flash back to stock but I couldn't due to no screen use, I tried with odin and it worked but upon boot it just gets stuck at the Samsung logo. so im thinking a soft brick now. I have triangle away but cannot use it so I bought a usb jig aswell as a mhl adapter from monoprice. I just received the mhl adapter and I cannot get into recovery mode or download mode it just goes to the Samsung logo.
can I try and reflash the stock rom through odin and hope maybe it was just a error in the file causing my boot up issue now?

With your phone off, hold the home key, vol down and plug in the usb cable, should go in to download mode that way

I had the same problem of being stuck at the Samsung logo after restoring stock with ODIN. Boot in to stock recovery (hold vol-up + home when powering on phone) and wipe data, reboot and it should boot properly.
and bytdedo
it connected to odin, and just tried to flash the stock rom again and it all passed according to odin. so I hooked up my mhl and booted it up and again just gets stuck at the Samsung part waited about 10 minutes still nothing the screen flashed blue a couple times due to the screen being screwed.
pulled the battery unhooked the mhl adapter and tried to get into recovery and it vibrates and then I released the buttons right after and it does nothing.. tried a couple times incase I released the buttons to late and still nothing just tried to boot. wont even go to download mode either..
I know when I put in my usb jig with the phone off it vibrates but I cant see if theres anything on the screen as I cant use the mhl and usb jig at the same time so im kinda stuck atm
mnlentsg one
anyone else have any ideas?

Had to RMA mine to Asus within 24 hours of receipt for this very same issue. It was a failure on the motherboard and they had to replace. They noted the problem as LED (Indicator) Error on the packing slip as the reason for the repair. Hope you are still under warranty. You did not get a 16G from the recent ebay sale for 129, by any chance, did you? A few people have reported the same.
Mine just did the same thing.... screen started acting wonky, it did a reboot and BAMN google logo. No recovery, only bootloader. No amount of factory image flashing brings it back.
Have no warranty due to it having had a screen replacement in the Spring... ...
And it's a Deb. This tablet has been a terrible experience.
So pressing the power button does not cause the device to boot normally (the second screenshot)?
I was playing around with my Tablet. Being a mad scientist trying to get root working on 5.1.1 and I did something that messed up the First boot screen that says. Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro. Well its not there any more just a crazy screen lol Some times its a whiteish screen like static some times I swear it was my desktop after it boots up. The tablet boots up just fine. But the First Splash screen is toast. Anyone know the way to fix that?
EDIT: I have tried reflashing the whole 5.1.1 update with ODIN and still the first boot screen is bonkers.
I believe there is two logos, one is built into the kernel / boot (the one that says Galaxy Tab Pro), then the other animated logo is stored under /system/media/bootsamsung.qmg (Swirling Samsung Logo), so it sounds like something with the kernel or boot loader is messed up
I would try doing a factory reset, (you will loose all data), then a re-flash, if that doesn't help you might try to downgrade the firmware to kitkat (if possible) then re-upgrade again, maybe it skips flashing the boot loader if its already the same version ...but really it might not be worth the hassle if it's just the logo...

Try reflashing with Bootloader as you have nothing to loose
