Hi all guys,
here it is... I like it... more or less:
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/For-...n-Flip-Leather-Case-For-Nexus/1473189118.html
I asked seller if it's possible to have a modification on that model. In particular, I didn't want the hole on the speaker, but I'd love to have the same hole in corrispondence of the notification LED.
She replied she's just a retailer, but ... "if you need many,I can ask the supplier to check it out".
Could be interesting :silly:

So i work for at&t and as such had the good fortune to win one of these amazing devices that I have decided to switch to as my main device over my Galaxy Note. That being said I really dont like the black finish and would really much rather have a cyan or white one. Is anyone aware of anyway to purchase replacement casing for them? And roughly how much they would run? With these phones being so easy to tear down I would much rather replace the casing than just buying a case for it.
I did a quick search and didn't find any replacement parts available just yet for the Lumia. But, I've never seen them not be available for a phone eventually, so I would stay on the lookout.
Ooops, did a quick look on ebay on found a cyan and black one http://www.ebay.com/itm/Blue-Origin...463?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item416480afd7. Guess these didn't come up on the Bing or Google search as they're the only ones. Better hurry
Can anybody tell if the speaker is included in that housing?

I would ask the guy who bought one.... assuming its the guy above on this thread?
Its hard to tell from the pic if the speaker is in there. There is the black square part that is off-center at the bottom where the holes are but its not easy to see if it is a speaker or not but it has two gold contacts next to it. You might try asking the seller a question.
interesting that they have a "Make an offer" button but it auto-declines as I just tried $45 and it fails instantly.

Based on the service manual in the following link, pages 19 & 20 it does appear to be included.

I found this case on Amazon. It was described as the Onite Black Ash TPU Case and is intended for GS3s with the extended battery. I really liked it because it had a wide lip around the screen, looked fairly thick, and had a wedge-shaped section on the inside that filled in the recessed area around the camera on my back cover (I'm running the EZOPower extended battery). I thought that filling the recessed area with extra rubber would look good and give a little more shock protection. I also looked at the Onite extended battery and the back cover was identical to mine. I ordered it, thinking I had found the perfect case..
...and this is what I was sent!
Unfortunately, the case sent had little resemblance to the one I ordered. The pics below are of the one they sent. Hmm...different color, thinner construction, definitely seem flimsier, and transparent. I thought I was ordering what looked like a well-built and sturdy case, but received a flimsy, generic case that I could probably find on eBay for $1.99.
I thought they might have sent the wrong one by mistake, but the package was clearly labeled with the proper description. Bummer! I think I'm the victim of a bait and switch. Now I'm running a generic Hyperion clone. Does anyone know of another source for a case like the one I originally ordered? I've tried googling it, but no luck.:crying:
Have you emailed the seller? Looks nothing like the first one

I just found this Case just 5 minutes ago may be it can change your mind and buy this kind of case also. Elements Case Eclipse
No, I didn't bother to e-mail the seller. If it was labeled differently, then I'd think it was a mistake. But the label on the packaging clearly stated that this was supposed to be the one I ordered. I did a little digging, thinking that a mistake could have been made at the manufacturer and then saw that the company that sold it to me owned the Onite trademark. I'm going to get my money back.
I like the looks of the Element case, but I need something that will accommodate an extended battery. So far the Hyperion is the best one I've found. I'm going to keep looking. Eventually I'll find one I really like.
Leave a review to save someone else time and money!

I contacted the seller and they said Amazon must have sent me the wrong case. Here's my e-mail and their reply:

Hi, I ordered the Onite Black Ash TPU Case for a Samsung GS3. I based my choice on the pictures and description shown - solid color, wedge-shaped area on inside to fill in recessed camera area of Onite extended battery cover, wide lip at front, etc (See pics Ordered1, 2, and 3). The case I got was completely different from the one I ordered. The case I received is mostly transparent, much flimsier, and lacks the filled-in section (see pics Received1 and 2). Was I sent the wrong case, or are your description and photos completely different from the actual product?
I am returning the case for a refund, but if you tell me that I received the wrong item by mistake, I will place another order.
Thanks,
Joe Gonzalez

Dear Joseph,
Thank you for contacting us with the problem and sorry to hear that you got the wrong products.
Since the order is fullfilledd by amazon, we would like to figure out the problem. We are afraid that amazon send the wrong products. First, we stopped selling the listing. Second, we will contact amazon and check the inventory for us.
Once we figure out the problem, we will get back to you. Since you have asked a refund, we are really helpless on this. Sorry again for the inconvenience we caused to you,
Yours

So it looks like a mistake was made, but they are trying to set things right.
I admit that I did leave a pissed off, but politely worded, review on Amazon at first, but I figured it would be better deleting it and giving them a chance at fixing it. Hopefully they will resolve the issue and let me know. I didn't want to do an exchange at first because 1) I was disappointed and 2) I didn't want to get the same thing again. I figure that this way if they resolve the issue, I can reorder and if they don't, I won't go through the hassle of returning a product twice.
Thanks to 1slow4G for prodding me in the right direction! I'm usually pretty understanding about issues like this, but I was pumped up at finding this case and really bummed when I got the wrong one and thought that they thought they sent me the wrong one but mislabeled it so I would think it was the right one. Now maybe they will find out that Amazon sent me the wrong one thinking it was the right one instead of them sending me the wrong one and trying to convince me that it was the right one. Then the one that I thought was the wrong one but labeled the right one will turn out to really be the wrong one and I can return it and get the right one! :fingers-crossed:

I bought my Moto 360 when it first came out. Since I'm from Canada and bought it in the states, I don't think my warranty applies. (correct me if I'm wrong!)
I got two watches - black and silver. Both have cracks. The silver one is pretty severe that the two cracks are about to meet (not sure what will happen when they meet).
My question is - what do I do?
Do I just live with it? What happens if the two cracks meet? Does the piece of the back fall off? If so can the watch still be worn?
Is there a place that can repair or replace the back?
Can i go to best buy, purchase two new ones, switch them for the broken ones and then return the watches claiming they cracked? I know its 'unethical' or whatever, but will best buy accept my return or will they only offer exchanges?
Thanks for your help! If you have any other suggestions I'm all ears!
Motorola should warranty them as long as you have a US address for them to ship a replacement too. I don't think they will do an advance exchange though as they like to put a hold on a credit card and won't accept anything but a US one. If the cracks meet the back shouldn't fall off as it is stuck on with a lot of double sided tape. I shaved the ears on mine down, no cracks so far and I've had it since BestBuy US started selling them.
I'll call motorola and see if they will cover it under warranty. Thanks!

Hello,
I'm a "happy" new owner of a Z1 compact with a now broken screen ...
No money ... so I checked youtube first, then ebay for a do-it-yourself repair (+xda ...) ...
I know now I should pay attention to many things (genuine assembly vs chinese copy, and so on ..., among which sticker and tools)
So, does anyone know a good OEM (chinese) assembly or a cheap genuine one ?
And in case, when buying an assembly, should I pay attention to the "frame" sold sometimes with it ?
Cheers to XDA people (my previous phone was a Sony Arc S modded thanks to Jader Rom ...)

I sent my phone back to Sony when the screen cracked and they fixed it under warranty. Depands what the screen break looks like I suppose. If it's obvious you droped it, then possibly they wont fix it. But mine was a single. very fine, crack running from left to right.
Sorry that didn't answer your question
@Didgesteve : thanks but ... your reply doesn't answer my question (my screen is cracked in 2 points (one long and really thin crack going from top to bottom + one close to the top left) ...
So ... I'm still looking for a cheap but good replacement to Do it myself + answer on the reason some assembly screens are sold with frame ...
Cheers !
Hello,
Is there something wrong with my message ?
Cheers !

I think xabzzz is looking for the actual glass, not screen protectors.
But a quick search on ebay reveals that they are easily available
You are right, when I overflow that thread it looked like it's not only screen protectors.
Anyway, here is the replacement part thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2672194
So, I've been so silly to drop my Mi 5S a little while ago and the glass of the front-side broke, together with a slight damage in the aluminium part of the phone.
Now, I happen to stumble upon one slight problem:
I bought my Xiaomi Mi 5S on eBay, importing it from the UK and their service said that if it breaks and it's outside of my warranty; I'll have to pay shipping costs.
I live in the Netherlands myself and I'm not the best at reparing smartphones myself.
So then, my question is...
What's the best option here?
I have a lot of repair shops asking me 150+ euro's and it could be better if I knew what part to order myself, because one shop said that they ask this much because the parts are hard and risky to get.
I would like an original replacement and I wouldn't know if it'd be a good idea to get it including a fingerprint scanner or not.
Could anyone advise me on this regard?
Some users mentioned that the fingerprint sensor will always break when replacing the screen. One even got ripped off eventually when a shop said it wouldn't break but they did break it anyway and still asked the full price. So yeah, definitely buy one with fingerprint scanner if you want to replace it yourself. Otherwise, don't really know anything about repairs unfortunately.
Goedemorgen landgenoot,
To be honest I'm surprised you actually found shops that knew what to do with the phone in the Netherlands. Haven't heard or seen anyone that ever saw the phone before.
With that in mind I don't think €150 is a bad price. The question is if it will actually be an official screen.
I strolled the internet myself beceause my screen has a small crack too. But I gave up. Also after seeing the videos of the DIY's it had put me off trying myself
Not much help, I know.
Good luck
