MAGLDR 1.13
After long (about 4 months) under awful developing, DFT proudly presents MAGLDR bootloader - The first bootloader with built-in Tetris!
LEO512 and LEO1024 are supported both.
MAGLDR doesn't replace OSPL/HSPL. It runs in the chain after. So it's safe to install and remove it.
You need HardSPL 2.08 before installation!
History:
V1.11 fixed "GO GO GO stuck issue".
V1.12 added WPH support.
V1.13 added AD Recovery support, fixed few bugs.
Installation:
You need radio which support 576 RAM.
Run ROMUpdateUtility.exe and install it.
Notes:
"Boot AD SD" - boots android from SD card.
zImage and initrd.gz loaded from directory selected via "AD SD Dir" menu.
rel_path=%ADSDDIR% added to kernel command line.
"Boot AD NAND"- boots android from NAND.
zImage and initrd.gz loaded from YAFFS2 partition with "boot" flag.
"Boot WPH" - boots WPH from nand. WPH must be flashed before.
"USB MassStg" - provide SD card as USB Stick to computer. You can copy files via it directly without OS.
Allow to change kernels fast for Android developers.
THIS FEATURE IS STILL EXPERIMENTAL. BE WARNED.
"USB Flasher" - use this item to flash Android or WPH.
"USB TTY" - need same drivers like MTTY for SPL access
"AD HardReset"- erase android partitons with "hr" in the flags. usually you need erase userstore.
"Tetris" - Tetris game. Get 111111 score to activate hidden features of MAGLDR
"DMESG to SD" - dumps dmesg android log to SD card. useful for developers. EXPERIMENTAL.
"DumpUDtoSD" - dumps asize partition to SD card. BUGGY, SLOW and not tested. Don't use it.
"UseLast24NAND" - allow to use last 24 megabytes of NAND. EXPERIMENTAL.
But if you update MAGLDR via RUU or press WM65 hard reset keys.
you will lost this 24 megabytes of data. I
It means data will be corrupted or device won't boot more.
Default is OFF.
Use "Home" key to return back from submenu.
Use "Power" key to enter main menu during autoboot.
New in MAGLDR113 :
*Added support for Android Recovery
*Added support for raw boot partition format (like in native android devices)
*Fixed USBMassStorage data lost on big transfers
*Fixed Power-Off-Cable-Plug-Stop. Phone now detects this situation and reboots. Battery controller inside LEO needs runtime control during charge, it implemented in OS.
*V1.13 still compatible with 1.10 1.11 1.12. Future version maybe not compatible with previous, be warned.
*Added option "ClearSD MBR". which erase MBR, so card can be formatted via any program after WP7 boot ("200 Mb problem").
Future developerment :
*planned to add Haret's startup.txt support for Android SD
*fast boot support (?)
*support of fixed partitions layout with ability to reflash any partition
*WM65 NAND boot with any rom (?)
*WM65 NAND boot with special designed roms for MAGLDR boot.

I have tested an upgrade myself to these releases myself, and have not encountered any problems. But everyones setup is different, the upgrade process may work for you. But would recommend to do a NAND backup before you do. FINALLY, I will not be held responsible if you lose any data.
If you experience any boot loops, then expect at least 2, please report if you do get this, and what was your process, so that I can understand where the problem is happening.
DFT releases have been only included for experimental purposes, I will not guarantee that this works.
The build of this ROM is available here, If anyone wants to have play with this build, then feel free to checkout the repository by running the following command in Linux. This will grab the whole repository onto your machine.

For the Revolution 2.6 you need at least 288 MB in /system, so for EU users you need to flash the CWM build with 300MB /system, you can change the flash.cfg from the ClockworkMod and the change it similar to
Code:
system ya 300M
You can use the attached Recovery_300M.zip instead, which has the files changed, and flash using the attached file.

1. Extract the zip
2. mount the /boot on the phone using adb
3. copy the zImage in boot to /boot
4. copy syste/lib/modules/* to /system/lib/modules/.
5. reboot the phone
It is very likely the following may work, but I don't know your environment to be sure
if /dev/block/mtdblock0 is not your boot then, this will not work. You want to check to make sure
The Link in the first post is not meant for installing using manual process. but for CWM, but if you know what you are doing then you can use it
Code:
adb shell mkdir /data/boot
adb shell mount -t yaffs2 -orw,nosuid,nodev /dev/block/mtdblock0 /data/boot
cd boot
adb push zImage /data/boot/zImage
adb remount
cd ..\system\lib\modules
adb push bcm4329.ko /system/lib/modules/bcm4329.ko
adb push tun.ko /system/lib/modules/tun.ko
adb push cifs.ko /system/lib/modules/cifs.ko
adb push fuse.ko /system/lib/modules/fuse.ko
adb push msm_rmnet.ko /system/lib/modules/msm_rmnet.ko
adb push nls_utf8.ko /system/lib/modules/nls_utf8.ko
echo Cleaning up...
adb shell umount /data/boot
adb shell rmdir /data/boot

1. How big are your system partitions?
for the Revolution HD 2.2 it needs to be ~300MB
2. Have you done a factory/data reset from the CWM menu, before installing via CWM? (make sure you are running 1.2 of ClockWorkMod)

New release
All,

After every boot I need to press the volume up/down key once for it to boot.
Something about audioflinger. Anyone have any ideas?
Volume buttom?
Are you talk about auto boot?
I'm not sure I understand the question well.

added English (US) through MoreLocale2 app
I know this is a work in progress so keep up the great work arif
Update 27Mar11 -
have been using this ROM just over 24hrs and so
fare not to bad
Battery drain is a little higher than what I am used to
Have to remember to us speaker phone when I make first
call after reboot due to Robot voice and subsequent freezing of my phone if I fail to do so.
Also have periodic data connection failure of which I do not
experience on my other HD2 with a diff. ROM.....This was just FYI and not meant to degrade your hard work Arif

feedback would be great
Why sdext doesn't work? I have properly partitioned card which works with other roms, but here my phone states that I have 3mb free space after install. I even re partitioned card without success.

* create a file called config.txt
* add the following contents to the file
a2sd_mode=data
* run "adb push config.txt /sdcard/."
* reboot your phone.
If this doesn't work, then run the following commands
adb shell ls -l /dev
adb shell mount
adb shell df
and let me know the results
Thanks, I'll report results in a moment.
Edit 1: It will be a longer one, because my connection is ridiculously slow and I have to download sdk and jdk
Edit 2: None of your advices helped, still have 3.85 MB of free space.

What do you mean writing "the new version"?
There isn't a new version yet, and haven't planned one as yet. But I have some ideas that I wanted to try to fix some of the issues that this ROM has
Most of my time has been spent on doing the CM nightlies and the CWR updates, and getting RM support for the leo. But I will see when I can get time out to do an update here as well.
Edit: Hey HD2 Folks! I was just checking in to see how my old thread was doing and im surprised by the number of people that are still using and updating the toolkit. It has been quite a few years since the HD2 has been released, and it is still getting updates that not even new phones are getting. HD2 has gotten a special place in smartphone history because of this. I would really like to thank all the developers that made this possible and all the users that supported the developers. I obviously don't have my HD2 anymore (i actually cracked my first hd2 and got a second one which i lost and got a third one which started having power button problems, then i moved on, i would still use one if i had one), but i will always support hd2 users. And im sorry to everyone who donated and didn't get their names on the donations list. I really appreciate your donation, i just wasnt able to update my thread due to different problems, and im sorry about that. I hope HD2 gets more updates and ability to run more oses (Ubuntu OS etc.) in the future.

Please Do Not Modify/Rename/Delete Any Files From The Program Files Directory! Doing So Might Brick Your Device!!!
Hello XDA Users / HD2 Owners,
This is an All in One Toolkit for HTC HD2 NAND Users. The main purpose of this toolkit is to simplify many complex tools/guides which are difficult or unsafe to use. As we all know that HD2 has got a powerful hardware base, but the pre-packed Windows Mobile operating system just ruins all the fun of having a device with high specs. So, developers on XDA like codesmith and Cotulla have created alternative bootloaders which can load Android kernels so that we can use Google's Android operating system on our devices. This tool will help you install those bootloaders, and also do many other customization/modding works easily from one control panel. Here are the main features of the Toolkit:
Simplifies Installation of cLK and MAGLDR (Android Bootloaders)
Simplifies Installing Roms, Radios, SPL's and other things by letting you install NBH Files with one click
Makes it easier to Re-Partition your Android Phone
Makes it easier to install Reicvery
Automates process of flashing NBH Files

Well, those were just the main highlights of the tool. There are a lots of other numerous features that will let you easily do many complex stuff. After lots of nights without sleep and red eyes, i have finally made this small piece of software able to do most things that a normal HD2 NAND Android would want to do easily.

About The Software
Hd2 Toolkit is the result of a lots of nights of work with help from recognized developers such as arif-ali, seadersn and others. I have tried my best to make the software as user friendly and powerful as possible. I really appreciate the fact that you guys are using and loving this little software i made. At first, i made a tool that was intended to make it easier to repartition MAGLDR bootloader. Then gradually you guys started using it and started suggesting more and more features which i implemented as soon as i could. Version after version, i started to add new new features you guys suggested and soon i changed the name to ClockworkMod Installer. After few versions of developement, and bug reporting from T-Macgnolia, i finally added support for cLK bootloader. Then after adding a lot more features you guys suggested, i changed the name again, and this time to a name that makes broader sense, HD2 Toolkit. I will keep on updating this tool as frequently as i can. I hope you guys will like this tool. Any suggestions, comments, questions, bug reports or anything related to this tool are welcome. Thanks to mods who made this post a sticky

Linux Users
mardurhack has confirmed that Downgrading Recovery works on linux using WINE.
I did not create an installer for linux users as the main tool required to flash CWM for MAGLDR hasn't been made for linux by DFT. I would suggest using WINE to emulate the app (haven't tried it yet but should work).
As for the cLK version, you can easily install it on linux. Just download a fastboot binary for linux and use the following command:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

A: Depends on what you are trying to do, refer to first post.
Q: How can i avoid loosing data?
A: Update, dont reparittion, or use nandroid.
Q: How does one decide what partition size to set?
A: It depends on the rom you are using, some ROM's suggest you to use small partition and some suggest you to choose large ones (specially sense roms)
Q: Where can i find this software? please..
A: LOL, this made me laugh. Its in the zip file named HD2_Installer.exe
Q: It says no memory left, what should i do now?
A: No memory left means the last version of recovery you installed was smaller than the current one. You need to completely repartition MAGLDR in order to install new version in that case.
Q: The last version seems to be confusing. What is Magldr partitioning? Should it just say "Install CWM Recovery" instead?
A: I will add a documentation after few minutes.
Q: I have the following error:

first answer: yes, currently, magldr doesnt support flashing recovery without recreating the partitions. if you are using clk, you wont loose anything.
second answer: just use nandroid from your current recovery and you will be good to roll

hi!
i installed the regulat 1.6 update to my FP1 and everything was just fine.
then I tried to install the "unified 1.6 update" which worked but the problems begun:
things I noticed:
1. backup ist not really a backup for the apps but just a way to reinstall the apps I had installed without any settings. not a fun way to find that out when reopening your apps.
2. the update to the 1.6 unifyed also messed with my SD card and deleted files and put new ones there. not something I was expecting. luckily I had a backup of the SD card.
the thing I am looking for a solution:
after merging the partitions I cannot acces the phone storage on my PC (mac osx 10.9.4). not directly as a drive. the android fil transfer tool works, but it does not have all abilities finder/explorere provides. how do I get acces to the phone storage again?
As all my settings are gone anyway I am open to reinstall the phone from scratch.

Because of the partition layout it no longer is possible to expose the internal storage as mass storage device. Adb will work but the preferred way of transferring files is using the MTP protocol.
I am not a mac user but I think you need to install some additional software.

hi, i'm also have an upgrade problem: mine is that i can't upgrade at all.
i've repartitioned earlier with the app mentioned in the wiki (wiki/Fairphone_Fairphone/Guides#How_to_partition_your_Fairphone).
i've also done the steps _keesj descripes in thread "unified storage setup on re-partitioned FP1" ("Steps for "fiixing" your upgrade").
i'm having Cherry 1.6, and two 7 GB partitions.
does anyone has a solution?

thanks, i've read it again and tried _keesj's solution again, unfortunately it didn't solve my situation.
i'm a layman in this area, so probably i shoudn't haved 'played' with partitions at all (but with the app it was easy).
my previous post wasn't quite complete... i have had an unified partition before...
because of an app that didn't work, i used the repartition app again to see if that could solve the problem.
it did, but later i wondered if a wrong install in the unified sistuation was the problem... so i thought 'let's try the unified partition again'...
i thought i could simply re-use the Fairphone Updater...
so maybe i'm now having a unified partition divided in 2?
and lost the ability to ever upgrade to newer versions of the Fairphone OS?
i hope someone can help me...

how do I allow it? i didn't get the question you've got ("ROM may flash stock recovery on boot. Fix?").
i downloaded Cherry 1.6 again and chose Install, gave it SU (forever) access, it automatically restarted to the Android with the text “Installing system update…” (no progress bar), and after a few minutes it restarted and nothing is changed. After starting the Fairphone Updater again, it immediately gave the Install option again. Same after selecting the Storage Upgrader.
I also tried restoring from the recovery (default, never replaced), from sd and adb (1.6 does install, 1.3 doesn't, and 1.6 partition upgrader doesn't either, gets aborted)…

Non unified images have a different signature. The moment you use the partition upgrader it will change the accepted signature and will no longer allow older images. If all is as I expected your running image is still the parition upgrader image and it contains the tools to perform the last step of the re-partitioning (e.g. calling the script and performing a recovery with format).
If you want to know what is going wrong with the zip install check the /cache/recovery direcotry. it will contain logs of the failing install.
As for a solutions I think you either need to run the script or flash your device using a 1.6 FUSE image.

thanks to _keesj, Rick (from Fairphone) and Christian (Fairphone forum)!
here is Rick's tutorial (with a few notes of my own):
You can only fix this by flashing your phone:
For GURU's only! (flashing with ADB). The alternative is to use the windows flasher tool.
1) Download the original image binaries from Fairphone's site (as a new user I, jjjanssen, can't post links yet).
(Download FP1U's zip: Fairphone_Cherry_1.6_FUSE_Image_2014-07-31.zip)
2) unzip the file
(I chose to unzip to location D:/FP1U.
after that i moved all content from the directory which contained EBR1, to D:/FP1U.)
3) enable usb debugging (on your phone: Settings, Developer options, turn USB debugging on)
4) push EBR1 on the phone: (Open (if you're using Windows) the Command Prompt)
adb push FP1U/EBR1 /mnt/sdcard/
(For instructions on how to use ADB search this site)
5) become root:
adb shell
(after that I also became super user (command su), but maybe that's not necessary; Rick didn't mention it. )
6) override the partition inforation:
dd if=/mnt/sdcard/EBR1 of=/dev/ebr1
7) reboot into recovery:
reboot recovery
8) choose to wipe data and cache
(after that, choose reboot)
