Hi.
In an attempt to revert my htc one x back to stock rom., I am now in a situation where I cannot enter fastboot.
I have tried al sort of combinations of power+vol down but it does not enter fastboot.
It comes to the white htc splash screen and then enters the old cyanogen mod boot screen with animation. That is where it is stuck.
Any suggestions?
Yeah keep the buttons pressed Untill you see the bootloader
Power + vol down is good. Just keep them pressed and do not let go of them. Make sure you press the volume button properly
Hi Hoff.
Thats what I am doing but it does not enter fastboot at any point.

Then your are not pushing right. Hold all buttons in and keep them pushed even after reboot of the phone !
Could not get it to work.
Ended with discharging the phone so it turned off. Then held the vol+down when powering up again.
Don't understand why the normal method did not work

You deserve a cookie sir
as to the question, connect to pc, open adb (surely you must be having it since you have a phone and an acoount on xda )
then typefastboot devices. this will ensure that you've connected your phone to the pc, and that all drivers are correctly installed. try more than one time, even if it doesn't work.
next, type adb reboot bootloader. this will get you to the white screen. you'll be navigating with volume keys, and confirming with power. I think that your volume buttons are malfunctioning.

Hello xda!
I'm in the process of sending my phone of to be reclyced. Gets me a bit of money and helps the environment or a third world person!
However, I think I have bricked my HTC Desire.
I wanted to put stock ROM on it, and I tried to flasjh a custom rom too it. Now its stuck at the purple circle at boot. (T-Mobile Desire)
Obviously could fix it going into bootloader, but the Vol Down button doesn't work so I don't know how to do it!
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Tim
Have you tried pushing, really really hard?
I thought mine was completely broken until I really had no other choice but to push it very hard.
Try that and when it does not work, battery out and in and try the same until it works.
Dont push so hard that something breaks inside
Just so u know my buttons dont work for bout 90 seconds so maybe just leave it for 2 mins.

I dont know what you mean you hold vol- down and switch it on, when the htc sign comes up it didnt work.
So you push that vol down very hard and keep pressing it and turn it on
When it works you are in the bootloader 3 seconds after you turned it on.
Black screen and then the bootloader.
When you see the HTC sign instead of the bootloader, take the battery out immeadiatly and retry.
Do that maybe 5 times and press a little harder each time.
You can also turn your phone off and hold the back arrow button and power on, from there you can go to recovery with the volume up button ?!

I've tried the Power On + Back Button, doesn't boot into anything, same purple-never ending screen.
I've tried pressing the Vol Down button really hard, nothing. Weird, as all other buttons are fine!

Starting to feel stupid now.
Pressing back + power, but still purple screen.
I'm guessing you mean hold down the back button first, then hold down the power button?
Yes !
Don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm pressing down the back button, then I press down the power button. Then it boots to the purple circle.

Hey. I have a big problem with my HTC ONE X. When I put it in my pocket it restarts because if you press the power button for over 5 seconds it hard resets. I read somewhere else that the combo for hard reset is the volume and power button. Is this true? If yes why my HTC ONE X resets only with the power button? Can I change it somewhere? Is very annoying because every time I put the phone in my pocket then next time I will unlock the phone it will request my SIM unlock code. Soooo annoying.
Thanks
Long pressing the power button forces the phone to abnormally restart, and the combo takes the phone to bootloader mode.

Oh there is nothing to do about it Just keep it always in my hand I guess.
Press the power button for 10 secs, the phone will have a force restart, which is helpful when it freezes. You can use a cover which makes the power button harder to reach, so it doesnt get pressed when in your pocket.

hiya guys
how about when the handset has not been sitting in your pocket and has been on charge in a location where there has been no chance of the powere button being interfered with, just happened to me 5 mins ago.

What happens if you reboot holding power and volume-down? What does it say? And if I'm understanding you correctly, CWM isn't responding when you select any options using the power button?

Hi. I have a HTC One X and while I was at work last week my phone was working fine. when i had a break I went to check my phone and it would not turn on. Everytime I press the power button the camera flashes. Iv tried charging it and plugging it into my pc. the charging light doesn't show up and it doesn't connect to pc either as if i never plugged it in. Try to flash it but bootloader wont appear on the screen. Please help.
Does it power off if you hold the power button for 10 seconds?

No it doesn't do anything. The screen is black and the only thing it does is when i press on button the camera flashes.

I had a similar problem a few weeks ago, although mine wasn't the camera flashing, it was the torch. I solved the problem by powering off and installing another rom. If the phone is powered on, hold the power button down until the hardware keys at the bottom start flashing and continue to hold until the flashing stops. Mine took about 30 seconds until the capacitive buttons started flashing then about another 4 or 5 seconds to stop flashing and power off. You should then be able to get into the bootloader

For me it was software, I had inadvertently set the torch to flash on pressing the power button, it worked fine with the screen on but once the screen went off it wouldn't come back on so I had to follow the steps above

Hey ,i have the same problem as well. I thought i was the only one. i am thinking about taking it to the shop to see if they could fix it. I keep pressing the power button and eventually it would turn back on and work fine again. I've tried installing different Roms and even installed the stock rom but still the same problem. I would use it for a couple of days then randomly it would just go black and just camera flash every time i press the power button. Guessing its a hardware problem since i've tried different roms?
My phone won't turn off. At first it would get stuck at the lg screen but it goes past it and stays at a black screen. If I try turning it off it turns right back on. I can't LGNSPT with my phone on so plz help. I also tried booting into to fastboot. Iy was a no go.

try this.
to get into download mode,
leave your phone on and connect to pc
press and hold both volume buttons
press and hold power button till OG's screen goes black black (don't let go volume buttons yet)
release power button (still hold volume buttons)
your OG should turn back on by itself in my experience.
and see if you can get into download mode.
This method took me to download mode when I soft bricked my OG.
Good luck!
P.s. same way for fast boot except it uses only volume down button.
