I tried, nothing that is close. most are "reset to factory" solutions
Im thinking of installing a different rom that may work, suggestions?

I don't like to suggest roms.... I say try them all. Lol Everyone has different needs and tastes.... So it's pointless to give my opinion.
But yes... Flashing a new rom should fix it. Just make sure to read the opening post for instructions.... Carefully. Reading through the last however many pages of the thread is always a smart idea also. You'll find out about bugs and stuff, and see what folks at saying about it.

Phone call connection problem

Has anyone had an issue with connecting to phone calls with T-Mobile lately? I have tried 3 different radios on multiple ROM's with no luck.
Problem kind of goes like this. I'll make a call....phone will not ring and sometimes say call connected, sometimes it won't ever do anything. I'll hang up, call right back and it does ring. This doesn't happen every time but it happens enough to piss you off.
Any help would be great. Thanks community.

I have the exact same issue. Don't know what is causing it. I have also tried different radios and ROMS. Seems to only have been happening on Jelly Bean ROMS, but don't know if that is a cause, or just that I have only been on those ROMS for a while now.
What Radio/ROM are you using? I am on LiquidSmooth with the UVLH5 radio.
I'm currently on the UVLH radio and PACman latest release.
This is annoying, not disabling my phone but annoying at any rate.

Yeah. I have noticed it a lot when I call my girlfriend. It will say it's connected but I won't hear anything and usually it will disconnect. So if it starts doing that I have started hanging up and recalling and it rings from the start. I just found out today though that it is ringing on her end even though I am not hearing anything. She said most of the time I call it rings, I hang up, and then call right back, but to me, it seems like it's not connecting the first time.
Same thing happens sometimes when I receive calls, I will answer and hear nothing and have to hang up and call back. I wonder if its a T-Mobile thing in our area.
This is a typical issue with Samsung phones and T-Mobile and has been noted in multiple threads.

Having trouble with SMS issues please help!!!

I'm sure this question has been answered b4 and I'm sorry. So just hear me out. I've had problems over the past week with getting my phone to receive SMS and calls. I can make calls but I'm not able to receive them. I was on the phone with the sprint the other night and they were doing all these things to try and fix it. They had me do dial pad codes and my phone did not respond to those. They had me send some SMS messages to myself the text went through but didn't go back to my phone. And when I reflashed the modem and rom on Sunday afternoon I lost 3g I used to get almost 5-6 bars in my house on 3g and now I barely get 1 bar. I am on Stock Gb27 rooted stock kernel but I was on agats Gb27. I need help I would like to avoid getting a new phone. Thank you in advanced

Well I was already on Stock Rooted GB27 and was having problems so I tried to Odin GB27 to fix it and factory reset through stock recovery and then update the prl and profile but that didn't fix it. And I've tried reflashing GB27 modem but that doesn't work either.

The signal issue is a funny thing to work out...I would try going back to stock ICS and ICS modem...before that you should make sure no tower work is going on in you're area.. ..if you go to ICS update prl/profile .... Check signal...then proceed to gb27.....rom and modem or another job modem...just my thoughts...let me know how it goes..
K thanks man! I will do that but it won't be till later tonight. I probably won't be able to Post results till tomorrow afternoon.

So I did what you said. It only fixed it for a day. Only ##722136# works in Gb27 dialer. Before it didn't. Would I be able to install ICS dialer apk and not mess up the JB dialer. I might have to get a new phone if it keeps this up and if I do which phone should I get.

i dont think the ics dialer idea would work...you can keep trying different modems and see what happens or tell sprint that they suck and demand an airave..they will probaly charge you for it..
As for which phone to get...there is no way for me to answer that man...But i'll tell you this. When i get my next phone it will be the water/dust resistent S4..But i dont see a new phone helping the signal..
You could change you're prl to a roaming one..there are guides here and there online..But this only works for sprint not boost..If you're on sprint..a custom prl would be my move..

well..then before you go flashing a custom prl and having sprint freak if you use to much roaming data..lol
I would odin a one-click back to stock rooted ics...you might have something left over from rom flashes messing with you're signal. Make sure you back everything up on you're pc...because you need to use the wipe data one-click..i think its called ''no data''. I'll look to make sure.
edit..nope. Its full restore...not nodata..im a dummy..

Ya know I'm not trying to annoy you dude. But screw it I'll just use a different app for SMS for now. I'm just gonna save up for a new phone. And get a job at the sprint store right by my highschool lol. Employees get new phones for free.

Sorry..i seen you have signal now..ive been jumping around and helping others in about 3 different forums. If you're problem is just sms or mms. I would wipe the cache for the sms app in app manager. Then boot to recovery and wipe cache and dalvik cache.Reboot. If it is still wonky..try checking you're apn settings..if they are wrong.change them and reboot.
Should I just look online to see if they're wrong.

Hello and Thank you for any help you all may have.
I have a T-MObile S III rooted, stock with 4.1.1 Kernel 3.0.31. I'am able to place and recive calls with WiFi Calling on however after about 2 minutes the calls start to break up be do not drop. If I call over the network I have no issues, it is just with WiFI calling. I have wiped Cech and reset to factory but it is still happening. Please help!!! Thank you!

Connection doesn't seem to be the problem. My GF has the same phone and no problems. I have also confirmed the connection breaks up on 2 other wifi networks. All 3 are home networks. I'm going to unroot and see if that helps.

It won't. I can only recommend trying 4.1.2.
I'm going to have to go with Aerowinder on this one.
I had problems with 4.1.1 call quality on every ROM I used a custom kernel on. When I hit 4.1.2 all of the call quality problems just disappeared out of thin air. You could also update your bootloader with the MD5 firmware script (search for it) and flash a different modem like MD5.
And once you update if you're looking for a problem free kernel, I'd try the newest stock kernel from AT&T, MG2.

Yes you can but you will need to read more on the rotation fix.
Does anyone know how to get wifi calling working? I have the newest sim card (TM9177) and have activated and setup my 911 address. I know wifi calling works because it did work when I was on GB and ICS.
Now on Jellybean (this rom and the stock rom) I can't get it to work. Wifi Calling is stuck on "enabling"

I have tried that. It doesn't seem to do anything. Is it because my Sim card is not the right one?

Losing service

I searched and didn't find anything. So my problem is I have a stock i317. I randomly lose service. Sometimes it's just data, I'll have 3 or 4 bars but no data. Other times it is everything just the no service symbol. I usually turn airplane mode on and off and everything comes back. Any idea what the problem could be ? I just updated ota to ucamh3. Hoping that would solve the problem but there is no change.

Some devices had internal antenna issues that required a repair /replacement ....
If a stock rom is used and the device has been factory wiped ...but you still get antenna issues ...
The device may have a problem ..
It's not uncommon ...
And if the device is truly stock and no tampering has occurred ...then the odds of a hardware issue certainly go up...g

I found what works with my phone is a quick smack to the thing. On the side or the back Im not sure I hit it a few times. Then it goes from not being able to find a network to having full signal strength. Im not hitting it hard enough to hurt it. I hope this continues to work for me.
(Update)
Upon further testing smacking it does not seem to make a difference. We are on Straight talks BYOP sim plan using AT&T towers. My wifes skyrocket does it sometimes and has Cyanogenmod Rom. And my note2 I just got and immediately flashed with Pac Man Rom does it a lot. Cyanogenmod Rom has some of Pac Man rom built in it hmm. My skyrocket never does it and it is still stock 2.3.6. Im thinking of doing a nandroid backup of my hard work setting up my Note2 and then flashing back to stock to see if it still does it. Or try to see if it only does it on a low charge. Or only wail plugged it. Or flashing a different radio, or different modem or baseband how ever you are supposed to say it.
Right now my Note2 is on baseband I317UCAMCE.
My working Skyrocket I727UCLD2.
Wifes Skyrocket I727UCLL3

Iam having a very similar issue with my Note 2(sgh-1317).
If you could please walk me through this. Permissive and Enforced are both greyed out using WanamSELinuxModeChanger. It is rooted(CF-AUTO-ROOT), os IS 4.3, IMEI under battery matches IMEI as listed under [SettingsAbout Device/Status] as well as that listed using Android System Info from play store. Radio is "UNKNOWN", KNOX status empty
This is the 4th phone, all note 2s, that I've had "No Mobile Network" issues with since I originally got this device last Christmas(2012).
the 1st 3 were replaced under warranty by AT&T. But now I'm on Straighttalk and rooted and the issue remains. There is an iPhone 4S in the house, also on Straighttalk, that has no network connection issues at all. I have verified APNs etc etc and am at a total loss.
Any help is much MUCH appreciated.
thanks
