Screen time out set to 10 mins by itself.. - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

My note 3 has been randomly setting my screen time out to 10 mins by itself, although i just needed to change it back to 30 seconds but still very annoying, in fact, right before I sold my note 2, it did the same but not as often as the 3 so fa
Any suggestion would be great.

Assuming you have a similar setup of personal apps, and the fact that it occurred on both your note 2 and now your note 3 - my money is on it being something peculiar to one of the apps/mods you have installed. Not much help I know, but that's where I would start looking if I were you anyway

Thanks, this make sense and btw, both note 2 and 3 are fully stock, no mod at all ...

If you have a lock screen replacement, LED Management app or battery management app, they have all been known to mess with screen timeout. I would check those out to start, then go from there looking at other customization.

Might be happening when you log back into Google after you have reset your device.
It turns to the settings you had when the Google account was backed up.

If you are rooted, freeze via titanium backup.

I have a similar problem regarding the screen mode. I have to tap Save in order for my Natural settings to be enabled again. Like you said I barely restart my phone but it's kind of weird.

Does this mean for me too. Though I didn't notice it until I dirty flashed a ROM over stock.
But I may just have never restarted prior to the flash, so I can't be sure it's related.
This is a know issue with JB 4.1.1 and was corrected with JB 4.1.2 update. We now just have to wait till AT&T pushes it to us.
I've only noticed the keyboard issue on the stock ATT rom. I've been on the tmobile rom for 2 days and haven't noticed a keyboard issue at all.

Sometimes my phone has gotten wonky on time usually as a result of battery swaps. happened even prior to my rooting.
All i needed to do was toggle off/on the Auto time set feature and it resets as it should.
All most over slept one morning because I for got to check the time after a battery swap prior to going to bed. Phone is my main alarm clock.
Just go to settings then under system go to date and time and then set the time yourself.

Samsung has introduced a qualcomm time service that might be responsible for weird time behavior. I know on my phone it can be off by up to two minutes, so what I did was disable this from running. If you're rooted, you can either disable it in titanium/application settings/adb OR just remove the application from /system/app/TimeService.apk

(Q) Super Slow Screen Rotation

I've noticed that if my screen goes off whilst in landscape orientation it takes a full 10 seconds to rotate to portrait. Idon't have any rotation apps or setting turned on so I'm thinking it's native TW issue. Has anyone seen this and/or found a fix?

Yep....I've seen it many times as I run TW based builds...
The only fix I've found is getting away from the stock stuff..
CM/AOKP/AOSP seem to have it fixed, and If we know where to look, I'm sure it's a setting we could change.....(maybe)
TW framework is big...and I have no idea where to start looking......g
I'm a little disappointed, I mean 10 seconds is flat out ridiculous. Everyone keeps saying that this is one of if not the fastest phone out there, but I'm greeted with this unusual issue that bugs the he'll out of me.

Agreed. ...
You may have some data corruption. ..
Although my screen rotation is slow. ..it's not 10 seconds of slow. ..
Closer to 5 I'd say. ..g

Yeah I go through and use the task manager a couple times a day. I'll give cleaning up caches later today.

Turning off "Smart Rotation" helped for me.
Yeah I got that turned off.

has anyone experimented with turning off Smart Stay as well? i just turned it off and will see how it goes..
I've had that turned off, never really mattered to me.

ah damn, ok. mine seems to be ok so far. i can live with the ocassional lag, i just can't stand it when it gets stuck in one orientation no matter what I do.
I saw this in another thread i think, but there is a market app called Adaptive Rotation Lock. I have it set to Force Auto, and my rotation seems to be about normal! At least i am definitely not getting stuck in one orientation anymore. The bad lag seems to be gone as well, i think. And even the lockscreen works in landscape lol.

How do I stop nlpwakelock

All my location services are off but its still going....
I had that same problem when I had the LG G2.

Any fix?
May have to factory reset your phone. I had a problem where my CPU was pegged at 300mhz and couldn't isolate it. Factory reset fixed it. Off topic, I tried to do software nav button mod and ended up having to factory reset 5 more times this weekend, the first one being painstaking because my phone froze every 10 seconds and I could only input touches about 1 second each ten second interval. Took me 2 hours to get root explorer downloaded finally and another 2 hours to get to the file and delete the line of code I added. Ugh.

Nope. Took back the G2 and got the Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear. It's nothing against the G2. That phone was/is amazing. I just wanted to try the Note 3 and I'm kinda liking it so far. Touchwiz is actually incredibly smooth for once.

Lots of lag

Recently got this and i am shocked it lags so much everywhere. Laggy in the homescreen and apps takes 10 secs to open apps such as xda. I expected a snapdragon 600 with 2gb ram was top notch.... please why does this lag is it beacuse of kitkat?

I doubt it. I just opened the XDA app in roughly 2 seconds, plus a few to load the list of course, but that is not the tablet. Most apps take 1-2 seconds, except deliberately slow ones such as Kindle.
I am not joking. My tab just froze and went on a black screen and would.not respond for 5 mins, i have rebooted and so far it seems a tad faster

No, that's not right. You have something going on wrong with the tablet. I would look to see what apps are running. Maybe something doing something it shouldn't? That would be my guess.
A custom ROM may serve you better if you feel up to the change.
