Do you have a mcroSD card adaptor with a card reader? If so you can just pop in your McroSD card into the adapter and place that into you card reader on your computer and transfer the files you need.

What rom? Have you tried a battery pull? Have you tried putting the card into a card reader on a computer?
Stupid question here from my part but do you have the phone hooked via usb to a computer while you are doing this?
No I haven't tried hooking the sdcard up to computer yet . And I'm running mikfroyo 4.4

Mount the SD card in your PC and run chkdsk. Worked for me a couple of times. If you're seeing corruption, you may have a bad card. I had a Wintec 32GB card that I returned because it kept corrupting.

Clockworkmod Recovery cannot find .zip files

I have a rooted LG Nitro HD. I downloaded the Domination HD Rom. However, when in clockworkmod recovery, no .zip files found. Anyone else have this happen? I rooted using superoneclick.

Yeah, I had this happen with the CWM flashed from Rom Manager. I ended up going back to bytecode64's.

Thank you. I will check it out.

Copy your SD card to your computer (all the files), reformat the SD card in Windows, and then copy your files back on it. Then CWM Touch will see the files.
Thank you, kernelpan1c. Worked perfectly. My next step is to check out your rom. Looks pretty sweet.

I haven't done it with card in the phone. Go get a microSD adapter and format with Windows (considering you have a card reader).

Enable usb mass storage on your phone and windows should let you format it or boot in cwm, go to mount and storage, select mount sd card and then format sd card.

Same problem when using 16Gb micro sd card. For resolving this problem use micro sd card small capacity. I used 2gb card.
Sorry for my English.

[Q] Retrieving files from "damaged" SD card after flashing CM10

I fllashed CM10 M2 on my S3 and got the error that the external SD card is damaged. After reading some threads here I found that CM doesn't handle the exFAT format so I restored stock image from backup expecting to be able to access files on the external card. However, I'm still getting the bad SD card error. I found this thread that mentions the same issue that I'm having but the solution proposed there didn't work for me. I'm using CWM 6.0.1.2 and when I connect through ADB when in recovery, I don't see the contents of the external card. Mounting sdcard from CWM mounts /sdcard but that is the internal storage which is not what I want. I also tried connecting the card to my laptop running XP using a micro-SD card reader and running chkdsk but that reported the disk as a RAW partition. Any ideas on what else I can do to copy files off of the card?
Plug it into the computer and run a recovery software. There's tons of free ones.
Exfat should be readable by cm10. I would try in a Linux os to retrieve your data. Or the recovery method as mentioned above.

I have the same problem how can i backup my files ftrom ex_sd befor do format

You'll have to copy to the computer. Use an adaper to plug into a usb port. Or if you can see the files on your phone copy to computer via usb cable or wireless file utility.
If I'm not mistaken, exFat is only supported in our stock kernels which is why you can't read it in cm or aokp. I've also had problems seeing it in cwm and twrp recoveries, but I can't remember if I had a stock kernel at the time.

I was able to recover the files using the Photorec recovery tool from CGSecurity. Worked like a charm, restored all my pics and music And it's free as well!

How are you seeing the files from CWM? Do you connect through ADB to browse the files?

Try sgs3 easy ums app. I think its on the market but you can search for it here in xda as well.
Or as I said before you can try a wireless transfer utility from the market.
Otherwise take the sdcard out if the phone and plug it directly into your computer via an adapter.

Now that its in my note2 every CWM backup I do doesnt go to sd it goes to phone.(or titanium) I went to filemanager and I cant move the back ups to sd card. So my question is.. did I format sd incorrectly? Meaning I shouldve used PC or am I just missing something? I dont have a card reader and its a 32 gb sandisk.(rooted and stock) any help is appreciated. Thanks

When you are in CWM are you choosing to back up to external sdcard or just backup?

You can try formatting the memory card by connecting your phone in 'USB storage' to PC and format by PC and then repeat the process.
Hope it has works for you

noob needing advice

Hi folks I'm new here so go easy on me
I recently installed CyanogenMod via the installer but I mid the s-pen functions more than I anticipated so I have been looking at the different ROMs on here and decided to try Phoenix ROM. when I downloaded the ROM and super clean as described in the instructions I placed them both on my ext SD card but I can't flash from ext SD via Phil's cwm as it doesn't find the SD card it says its not mounted. Is it OK to place the 2 files on my phone root directory to flash from there or will super clean wipe them from there too before I can flash the ROM.
Thanks in advance

what is your SD card ?
64 GB ?

if you use a super clean wipe Zootscript Megawipe to clean, yes it will erase your internal USB storage.

Its a 8gb card I've got a 32gb one coming in the post but I'll have to wait a day or two for it. I know the card is working fine as I can transfer stuff to and from it but when I try to access it from recovery is keeps saying there's no card mounted

switch off and remove battery and place the ext sd and boot up and see if it detects on phone now proceed to recovery and wipe there u can even find a ption to mount internal storage so after the wipe u can place your file to internal sd but before doing anything just verify if the mount is working and if the ext sd has detected or not
Tried that but no success still says unable to mount path no matter what I try to do withe the external SD it works fine from the phone just not during recovery. Could it be a bug in cm 10.2
How do I get the ROM to the internal SD if I mount it with recovery can I connect it to my laptop and transfer of over from it.
Sent from my GT-N7100
I've tried formating the SD card to fat32 and flashed the latest cwm recovery and still no joy with being able to use the external SD to flash from. So if I do the super wipe how do I get the zip file for Phoenix ROM or any other ROM for that matter onto the phone to flash it
well, i am not sure it will work or not,
but have you try with OTG cable + thumbsdriver/ pen driver with the rom in it to connected to your phone to flash in recovery ?
if this dont work, probably u will need a brand new memory card for sure
Well i finally got it sorted i flashed the latest cwm recovery again using the internal memory and it worked i can now access the external sd card from recovery so im now running phoeniX v14 and sofar im impressed and glad to have s-pen functionality back again
