(Android 4.4 KitKat Unofficial for i9300 - No Bugs)
Hey what's up guys I need your help please.
I modified the latest rom by LiquidSmooth(and it's a KitKat Unofficial ROM for the i9300, no bugs), and I didn't have a computer at the time I was making it, so I modified and did it all through my phone. So what I am asking is, is there any way I can take that ROM I modified and make I flashable ROM out of it, so I can upload it and people can flash it to their own phones?:highfive:

..ask permission to the developer and maybe he can help you with that flashable zip.

Remember that you would need to make sure that it has a meta.inf folder. And also inside the meta.inf folder the updater script is updated to include the files you have included or the files wont flash properly or work.

So, were you ever able to accomplish this? I'm looking at getting an S3 9300 to replace my now-deceased S2 which WAS running another adaptation of KitKat and I got REALLY spoiled by the features of the LiquidSmooth ROM. Would love to see a KitKat LiquidSmooth!
One suggestion, the PhilzTouch CWM (on my S2) had an option to make a flashable .zip file of your current ROM. Maybe give that a try. But to reiterate, you might want to communicate with the LiquidSmooth team to be sure they are ok with that.

[Q] Quick settings

Hi, everyone
I am looking for Kevdliiu Quick Settings mod for Jelly Bean 4.2.2. Yes, I am aware of thread he started, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1999125 ,but there are no updates there for a long time.
I have found that mod incorporated in MMuzzy ROM 4.2.2 for Maguro. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2096538
Is it possible to just extract SystemUI and QSCP from that ROM, copy files into zip of Kevdliu and install it? Would it work?
Thanks
Make a nandroid and try! If it does then you can post it for other users. The only issue I can see if that MMuzzy's ROM is based on AOSP so probably won't work with a 'stock' ROM based on the factory image. I'd download Paul O'Brien's MCR instead as that is based on the factory image so should work in other ROMs that aren't AOSP-based
Thanks. Well, as I cant find Brien's 4.2.2 ROM for free download, I will try with MMuzzy ROM. Do you know where is located Extended Power menu? If it is in SystemUI, then it is slim chance for me to make it work with just replacing files...
Thanks, again
It's on the link I posted, just get the pre-bake (which is free, bottom of first post. Although the pre-bake is still Jr13 which isn't 4.2.2 so might not work anyway)
Jr14 is a 4.2.2, prebake downloads are 4.2.1 I think...
edit: you already have said that...
thanks for the answers

Yes, it's possible, just flash the kernel you want with cwm without wiping system or data. (Note that the kernel must be compatible with the rom!)

It is possible, but I don't think there is an overclocking kernel for PA yet. Deedwar wants to include it, but hasn't come to it yet. The AOSPA legacy ROMs will definitely not have overclocking though.
Hello @deedwar, @Redstarr1!
While we're on the subject, i was wondering if you could explain to me is it possible to use the boot.img from the newest experimental CM11 build by RaymanFX and use it (flash it) in AOSPA Legacy builds by Deedwar? Considering that the AOSPA legacy builds have cm as a base.
Thank you in advance!

Not this time you cant. He has upgraded a few very key areas that require newer sources that need to be included in the ROM itself. So you will have to wait till i get around to editing the kernel and adding it to my github for AOSPA to build from.

changing base of rom

So I made a rom a while back for my old s3 back when 4.1.2 was new and I don't remember how to change the base of the rom to a different android version I want to make it 4.4.2 based anyone wanna help please and thank you
Well I know nothing about coding but maybe if you based it on a ROM like cyanogenmod you could merge with the latest repository
Any mods you made to one version will have to be redone using the new version. And it isn't as easy either. Seems like with every new update modifying the existing code gets more and more difficult. This is for stock TW though, I have no experience with cm/aosp bases so I'm not sure if it would be any easier.

[Q&A] [ROM] [4.4.4] CyanogenMod 11

Q&A for [ROM] [4.4.4] CyanogenMod 11

Battery drains so fast
I went to sleep seeing 67% battery.Woke up and saw 36% battery. Please help me out:good:
Screen sometimes flashes and doesn't display anything till I bring up the power menu by holding the power button, am I the only one?
How to root this rom?
It should be already rooted
Does this rom contain a recovery?
I tried to install this CM11 rom and was unable to enter or find a recovery after the fastboot flash of the boot.img file.
So, I flashed the boot.img file from this other rom instead. It gave me TWRP so, using that I installed this CM11 rom finally. Of course, I now have no recovery once again.
When I say I have no recovery, I mean something like @AcSilver describes here.
Questions:
- Have you installed this rom?
- Did you flash boot.img first as is usual?
- Were you able to reboot into recovery afterwards?
- Do you have a recovery after fully installing the rom?
- If you have a recovery, how do you enter recovery from boot?

Your Xperia Acro S (XAS) MUST have an unlocked bootloader (or a bootloader that can be unlocked) to be able to flash a custom rom like CM11.
If your device meets the requirement, you should follow the relevant sections of the install guide for CM11 on the XAS.

Probably Jelly Bean.
If you want KitKat, use the rom I linked to in this post.
As I mentioned in my post, it does not have a recovery so it is perhaps not a suitable choice for a beginner. If you can wait a couple of weeks, the developer has suggested a new build might be on the way. That will hopefully have a working recovery integrated.
i already have jelly bean 4.1.2...wanted kitkat 4.4.4

There are a few KitKat 4.4.x roms for the Acro S in the Acro S Development forum. I have no first-hand experience with most of them and cannot make recommendations.
If you are experienced, you can go to that forum, read a lot and maybe try one or a few KitKat roms until you find one that you like.
If not, wait for the next release of the rom I linked to. It just needs a recovery. I used it daily with no issues at all.
hangout bluetooth mic
For me, on Note 2 with cyanogenmod version 11-20141008-SNAPSHOT-M11-I900, there are two issues:
1) the phone mic works in hangout but has echoes (at least when calling or called by a number). I switched to the google voice app for making calls and that doesn't have any echoes.
2) the bluetooth mic doesn't work at all in hangout. The other party cannot hear it from the bluetooth set. This is not a problem when using the google voice app to call, however.
FTF
Hi guys, thanks in advance for your collaboration.
Is possible get the FTF file for this ROM?
Or any other way, how to convert this ZIP file into FTF file for flash with FLASHTOOL?
Thanks

I don't think it is possible to convert this ROM to ftf as this is a custom ROM. Why do You need to flash it via flashtool? It can be flashed directly by recovery.

@fazlehaq: The M12-equivalent release of the CM11 rom is out. It is said to have a recovery so, no more issues there.
Latest build lags, build from September is smooth
Launcher in latest build lags more, and pull-down is also more laggy. In build from September things are more smooth in general.
Just reverted to previous build.

why i cant change the font in this ROM ! :\

"official" Lollipop/Marshmallow on i9195

good morning.
I'd like to know if there's any way to get an official (I mean directly from Google) Lollipop/Marshmallow rom and flash it on an i9195 and, if yes, what's the procedure to do that.
I don't mean custom roms that we can all find even here but just basic ones.
maybe I'm asking something strange/obvious, I bag your pardon but I'm not so expert...
thanx

No. Basically you have the "official" touchwiz rom for your region/carrier/device(developed by Samsung and the carrier) and you have custom roms.
Only Nexus devices have vanilla AOSP roms that are more or less stock android. It is possible to have stock AOSP on this device but it is a LOT of work for a developer to get it to work properly. This is why most roms are based on CM because of the existing development and code base

I keep asking down here because I don't want to overload the forum, even though this new question of mine could be in another post: as I flash a new rom I guess I'm getting a "bulk" android, so does anybody know if there's a "good" (i.e. reliable and working!) tool/app/mod/wth that can bring TouchWiz back on the device?
I feel very comfortable with Samsung's TouchWiz and wouldn't like to lose it...
thanx again

I wish more XDA users would think before they overload or post off-topic in threads.
When you flash a custom rom, you are entirely overwriting the /system partition. This is where the touchwiz rom also needs to reside. To flash a stock touchwiz rom you need a tool called Odin(for windows; Heimdall is similar but works on Linux). You can get Odin from a lot of different places, I found one in here, there are a few versions but this one works well in my experience.
You can search for youtube tutorials or tutorials on XDA for how to use Odin. Search for "stock rom i9195" or "Odin tutorial" or something....
All you need then is the touchwiz rom in .tar.md5 format which you can get from a number of sites including sammobile.com and samsung-updates.com. You will get a .zip file which when unzipped gives you the .tar.md5 file. Be aware that most of these sites require a premium membership for fast downloads. You can still download at slow sppeds but it is really slow. Just choose the latest rom for your region

No, Touchwiz needs Samsung proprietary files etc to work.
Edit; but you may be able to get a similar feel by applying a "touchwiz" theme, but it's not real touchwiz

No, it's either one or the other. When you flash a custom rom it completely wipes the /system partition(either manually or automatically within the installer script). Normally you need to wipe your data as well because of incompatibilities.
So, you don't "put touchwiz on" the custom rom or vice versa. You replace the whole operating system. Hope that makes it clearer
:crying:
what do you think about these things I found on Google Play?
