This is my first post in XDA!
If any of you guys have fallen in a trap called "Secure Boot Error", it means that you have flashed a Recovery without unlocking your bootloader!
All that you need to do is flash the Stock ROM using KDZ updater. What if KDZ updater fails to extract the file?
The only alternative to this is the LG Mobile Support Tool. Don't worry you need not download the KDZ file once again ^_^
Whatever file you download using LG Mobile Support Tool is placed in C:/ProgramData/LGMOBILEAX/Phone/ .kdz file ... This can be witnessed while downloading an update using the Support Tool. But the file automatically gets deleted once the extraction of the .kdz file is completed.
Hence if you guys ever wanted to download the same file over and over again...it's not needed anymore
Just press the start update button in the Support Tool and go to C:/ProgramData/LGMOBILEAX/Phone/ and place the .kdz file once the checking of the connections is started in the Support tool! Voila!! There you go...No more unnecessary downloads :laugh:
I know this is a lame method.! But if you find it helpful pls hit thanks
Also NOTE : only the latest .kdz files can be flashed this way )
P.S : Can someone suggest a bootloader unlock for my mobile [ LG optimus G E975 - flashed with E97510F_00.kdz] ...freegee doesn't support this particular update :'(
upload ur boot.img in freegee and wait form some time till shellnutt updates the database...!!
so we flash the KDZ file for the phone using this LG Mobile Support tool ??

Hi there folks
I rooted my LGOG with the motochopper method and it gave me a lovely rooted device.
Then i decided to install Rom Manager and grant it super user acces.
When i rebooted after the rom manager had downloaded the recovery files it got stuck at
"secure booting error!"
Cause : boot certification verify
My problem now is ive got all the tutorial files found in this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010624 post, but the original firmware program doesn't connect to the lg servers with my model number and IMEI.
Could someone with an E975 help me with a stock kdz so i can save whats left of the brick, it can stil do download mode etc and switch off.

Well, maybe you will not get errors next time if you UNLOCK THE BOOTLOADER.Only rooting is not enough. You need root to be able to use FREEGEE,to unlock the bootloader. Unlocking the bootloader with freegee will also flash CWM recovery or TWRP, depending on your choice.
See what happens when you don't document yourself properly before trying to do things?
All is fine now, i couldn't download the KDZ since i edited my host file when flashing the L9 two months back.
Im waiting on the freegee support now. cheers

I'm just wondering if someone can describe the process or send me a link on how to flash the Value Pack update for my e980. I know there is a post with the updated firmware, but you have to use LG flash tool, which I can't get to work. If it's possible, I'd like to CWM the update. I can't OTA the update because it keeps telling me that my device is not registered (I use T-Mobile). Thanks!

There is NO flashable zip you will HAVE to use LG Flashtools. Try another computer.

Is there a good guide for this? The thread that has the flashable files is kind of confusing. I'm not fully sure how to do it, and am kind of afraid to mess up my phone. Thanks!
The value update .tot file for use with lgflashtools was posted by thecubed, download that. And also go to the fix soft brick thread and download the files there. Use that guide to flash the value pack .tot instead of the regular stock .tot file.
It will say it failed but as long as your phone is booted up and running(which it will be), you should be good to go.

Ok I have looked and looked and I cannot find a solution for this. My G2 is booting straight into TWRP after the OTA and I cannot get it back. I can get it into download mode but it just sits there at 0% not doing anything. The method for fixing it using TWRP's terminal command mode did not work it just told me that there was not enough space on the device. Should I just smash the screen and take it back to Best Buy to get it replaced since its insured or what? I'm at my wit's end here.

Do you have a backup? If you don't have a ROM maybe push a ROM into recovery then flash.....could also flash stock using lg support too

Thanks man! I got stuck in a TWRP bootloop after the update. Had to use this method to restore phone and end the TWRP bootloop.
Anyone else on Sprint: use the above instructions just make sure to use the LGLS980_20130904_LGFLASHv151.dll not the LSVS file.

I brricked my phone LG G2 Sprint and now i am in trouble ...phone not booting..
only i get the sideload via Recovery mode...
need a Recovery TWRP/CWM any...
and the way to flash the Recovery...
as i have changed the build.prop's setting
ro.build.target_operators= SPR
to
ro.build.target_operators= OPEN
and restarted it and then ..the ENd.
phone not starting...
tried to use LG Flash TOOL the .dll and .tot downloaded of Sprint
but the error comes for dll as i have changed build.prop to OPEN
so that LG FLASH TOOL is also not working..
figured out the solution but the way for these solution is still far...
just need the WAY for the solution..
Solution : Need to Replace the build.prop(OPEN) which is edited ONE ----> to-----> Original build.prop(SPR) [so that can use your said procedure]
if can't replace then should be able to edit the OPEN to SPR again
Only the things can work thru SIDELOAD only.

It worked..
The thing is that while installing devices drivers n stuffs
Sometimes some file are skipped unknowingly.
But again if u reinstall on same device without formatting then the issue remains unchanged.
So for that reason u should either format the OS n perform the said things/procedure.
Or just switch the computer or laptop to other.
Just Simply works...

Use dll from your kdz and flash with your tot file
If your model are not with kdz format u can use dll from d802 kdz file
Just use kdz extractor and extractor LGUp_XXXX dll from YOUR kdz

i have an lg ls980 and i accidentally flashed it to lg d802 firmware and i tried to restore with lg flash tool 1.8 using a ls980ZVE mdified to work with the dll file but it stoped and my phone is stuck in fastboot mode and it says
[1020]-reset-
[10510]-portchange-
[10520]-reset-
[10530]-portchange-
(and keep repeating every time i plug the phone)
please help i only have this phone ? :crying:

Try to fix it with srk tool2.1
Flash ls980 partition files using srk tool>fixed utility> fixed fastboot mode
First u have to download partition files of ls980 such as recovery laf persust etc.. by searching on google or by extracting any ls980 kdz by kdz extractor
After this u will he able to get into download mode and you can flash rom by lg flash tool

Firmware extract tool working fine for h930.
twrp flashable zip builder also working fine. i have just created twrp.zip from latest h930ds 21w .kdz as well as system.img,modem.img etc with this tool
update : zip file flashed without any error but cant boot to system its go to fastboot. ok i will try

this may be boot image only related. in 95% of me having this error a bootimage flash solved this.
