Well I was helping out a friend who happens to have a sprint OG. These forums don't seem anywhere as well organized or friendly as the N4 forums though. I looked around a little but couldn't find the root guide, so I asked for help finding the thread. One person was nice enough to point me in the right direction (and I gave them the thanks they deserves) while a few loud assholes got upset at my harmless ignorance. Don't you have better thing to do than waste your time criticizing an internet stranger, while adding nothing to conversation or giving any additional tips. I guess it makes you feel cool or something, but why don't you get out from under your bridge and do something genuinely cool? Also, sorry about thanking you, that was an accident.

Is anyone else going on hold off on rooting, installing custom recoveries and roms because they lost their imei on the s3? I know I am.

Eh. Rooted. Wasn't going to right away...

As for flashing...Not yet

I was gonna hold off on rooting, but I gave in today. as for ROMS, I'm jumping on them as soon as they become available
Sent from my SGH-M919
Planning on holding off a week or 2 just to get the full experience.
It makes installing a good rom, that much better!

I will be holding off as well. I'm kinda satisfied at the moment with what Samsung has provided. I don't like the bloat and I miss my root apps. But I think I'll be just fine for a month or so.

I already rooted and installed a custom recovery.....

I was going to wait on rooting.
With the 2GB of ram is the bloatware still slowing the phone down.
DEVICES:
NEXUS 7 32GB STOCK

STOCK (ROOTED)

No. Wasn't slowing down. Just wanted to freeze a couple annoying things

No custom stuff yet just rooted to remove bloat

Been waiting on my sd card from amazon that arrived today. I'm trying to hold off rooting until TWRP is ready.
I'm amazed I've lasted this long without rooting, but like others above I'm holding out until I can 'fully experience' the stock software Samsung tossed out there. I didn't want to drop 600+ on a new phone and not at least give the new stuff a try!

Yeah I was wondering the same thing. I was under the impression that the only way you could get a bad imei is if the phone was lost or stollen.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk 2
Well back when the s3 originally came out we had a bunch of people randomly lose their imei. I would show up as just 0. And there was no efs folder to back up because it no longer contained imei.

Short and sweet: they won't support it. I've never heard them make that distinction. Wish they would but its easy to flash back to show as if it never was

Ya it's almost stupid it's so simple just wanted to know if they had a stance one way or another thanks for the input

I had to take back my old captivate so I flashed back to stock and they swapped it with no issues. You are right, its a small pain but it works.
OK guys I could really use some help.. So 2 months ago I opened the t-mobile TV app just to see what is was and then it started charging me about 15 dollars a month. I was not aware of this and then I started flashing roms and what not but now no matter what I do I cannot figure out how to reopen my t-mobile TV app to fix my problem and now Im just losing money for no reason. If they're telling you that it doesn't make any sense. What if you stop using T-mobile, lose your phone, ect.? If you don't have access to a T-mobile phone with the Tmo TV app you can't cancel subscription?
They are BSing you. Be assertive and talk to their supervisor, they solve my problem and also issues a credit to me.

Yeah... if they charged it.. they can disable it.

I'm wondering if there is a way to get full root on 4.3 mk4 yet and if so would you mind posting instructions for it?
Thanks in advance
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
If you dont mind voiding your warranty there is a method under the general tab how to root stupid knox or something.
If you are like me and you do not like the idea of possibly permanently voiding your warranty then you patiently wait for someone to crack the bootloader (like they did with the international version)
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
So the sprint store would always be able to know I tampered with it, even if I was able to unroot?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
Yeah if you have the knox bootloader and you root it, it trips the bootloader voided warranty sign. So yes if you unrooted it would still show warranty voided. Whether sprint will actually look for this/care is yet to be determined.
