Has anyone tried downgrading to dmg1 via odin, after flashing the mj5 bootloader..?

Nope. I'm pretty satisfied with mj5. Why? What happened?
same bootloader on different variant of note 2
I have a related question. Can I use the same MJ5 bootloader and flash it on I317 (At&t note 2)?
Do you know whether it is compatible or not?

Noo! I would recommend you not to try even!
It can completely hard brick your device!

Have just rooted using cf auto root and want to update my firmware which is currently on stock 4.1.1. I am in the UK but my phone is a grey import with csc code (AFR), which according to Sammobile is Kenya. Can I just update the firmware using any of the English 4.1.2 files using mobile odin without messing up my phone?
I haven't got Cwm installed as I only want to use official firmwares.
Thankyou..

I think you cant just use otin mobile because you have to upgrade also bootloader and this is possible only with odin PC version. But maybe im wrong

Have just been reading through dr.ketan's guides and it looks like I can flash any official firmware for my phone as long as it's the same model number.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
Yes you can update any country ROM for same device.
Just to add if you want to use mobile odin, then keep in mind Mobile odin won't flash bootloader and i recommend to flash bootloader later with PC odin, still your root will remain intact.
PS : actually bootloader need not to flash everytime and only this time there is a fix for exynose bug so you need to do it.
you can find new bootloader on my same rooting thread post #4
How do we find out which version bootloader is on note 2?
Sorry I dont mean to hijack the thread

Thankyou. I will have a look. Should I flash the bootloader first to fix the exynos bug, then the firmware, or do them both at the same time using pc odin?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
you need to flash bootloader separately only if you use mobile odin to update ROM.
In case you are using PC odin to flash latest stock ROM, that will include bootloader and need not to flash it separately.
This is b'coz as i said mobile odin can't flash bootloader.(safety feature)

I thought the latest official Rom fixed sds. Will have to learn about kernel and recovery now lol. All I wanted to do was update my rom to an official one to mainly fix the exynos bug, sds bug and check out the new features.

yes, it has fixed SDS too
I said to utkarsh that exynose is fixed with bootloader.
So
If you use mobile odin to flash latest ROM, SDS will fixed but not exynose yet
While flashing with Pc odin, it will fix SDS as well exynose

Hey when flashing with Odin how do you know what version of firmware will work with your phone? I have a note 2 from vodafone ireland with the csc of VDI. Would i be able to use one of those 4.1.2 updates or is it only unlocked phones that work?
Any ROM should work.

Am just about to update my phone using pc odin. I have loaded the pda file, but the bootloader is still blank. Do I have to load the same file into the bootloader section as well to fix the exynos bug and sds?
Thankyou.

No need to do it
If tar file having it(4.1.2 of 2013 released have it), then it will get flashed from PDA.
I'm trying to unlock a US TMo S3 so that I can use it in the UK for 2 months during a trip.
I tried the following steps from XDA Forum to unlock my S3 locked with TMo. But dialing the code *#197328640# doesn't bring up the 'secret' menu to unlock the phone.
I'm running CM 10.1 with baseband UVDLJC. Do I have to switch to a TouchWiz rom to do this? I'm not sure why it's not working in CM.
Yes, you do. Just make a nandroid of your current setup, and flash a TW ROM.

Well, there is one...
Don't Odin flash the UVDMD5 firmware. It'll upgrade your baseband to the only one this won't work with.

Great thanks. Can I update the baseband after unlocking or will that re-lock it?
You can update w/o relocking. Once unlocked, it'll stay that way.

But nandroid backup is complete image of your phone. So it will relock it back once I restore the full backup?
I highly doubt it would re lock. Flashing roms and firmware dont do that so I'd be surprised if it did.
I haven't heard of anyone having a device relock from anything.

I flashed the new rom for galaxy s3 i747 baseband i747ucuemjb ver. 4.3 and rooted it but everytime I try to use romtoolbox or superSU I get the security notice. I did some research and I believe this is due to KNOX... how would I remove knox? i tried to use terminal to do it but terminal wont allow me to use su commands at all...
Thanks in advance
Removing Knox goes way further then just an apk file my recommendation would be to use the 4.3 Roms provided By loserskater

NO!
This is terrible advice and will brick your phone. Do not for any reason try to downgrade from MJB 4.3 to any 4.1.1 ROM.
Allrockedout, be sure to know what you are talking about before you advise others to brick their phone!

Is it possible to install 4.1.2 custom rom on a note2 which has official 4.3?
Bump.... Any one tried this?
That's what I'm wondering too! It's what's keeping me from updating bootloader/rom right now
Bump.. bump? Anyone running a custom 4.1.2 rom on 4.3 bootloaders?
I have had no issues. With roms on 4.3 Other then my Knox counter tripping.

How did you install 4.3 bootloader, did you upgrade from 4.1.2? Can you point me to the instructions for the same?

Why? Did you already flash a 4.3 rom? Just restore a nandroid.
No it is updated officially to 4.3, so has the new bootloader.
So can't reverse the bootloader, but the question is can I install 4.1.2 based rom now?
All I did. Was odin the rooted stock 4.1.2 put on cwm and flashed rom

I was going to say just use Odin to return to stock JB. I found that advice in a thread about this for at&t, but later on the thread a Canadian user said it worked for him.

If bootloader only, nope. you won't lose them.
You already know what bootloader you're going to install?

MJ5 is a good choice since you can install 4.1.2, 4.3, or 4.4.2 roms.
But for KK roms, offline charging is not working.
Goodluck.
