I have a wired xbox 360 controller that I use on my pc. I have an OTG usb cable too. The cable works because it can read usb memories.
When I connect the controller its lights keep flashing.
I try to play dead trigger 2 and I cant. If I connect another controller logitech it works.
Anyone knows how can I play with the xbox controller?

I don't think you can without some sort of drivers. Most people use the ps3 controllers via Bluetooth.
I've read that they work on nexus 7 without drivers. They only connect the controller and can use them.
If I need drivers... Where are they? Xd

I've seen inside folder /system/urs/keylayout that the mapping file for the xbox 360 controller its there: Vendor_045e_Product_028e.kl
But it doesn't recognize the controller.

Stock lacks xpad.ko required to recognise the 360 controller. Well, wired at least.

So there is a way to add the file for stock to recognize the 360 controller?

I've read others posts and I've seen that it's needed that someone complies xpad.ko
Anyone can compile or explain how to do it?
This module can be included in a custom kernel. Ask Yank555 if he can help you out with some input since he had included this support in his Galaxy S3 kernels

That's kinda a workaround but it's a pain to configure for every game.
I confirm that the xbox 360 controller works perfectly out of the box on an unrooted nexus 7, setting its light to player 1. Yet as OP pointed out with the nexus 5 all players lights in the controller keep blinking.
I used logcat on m nexus 5 (I can't on the tablet because it's not mine) and I can see that when plugged, the nexus 5 fails to recognize the controller.
Someone found a solution for a similar problem on an LG G2, but the app used does not seem to work with the nexus 5 for the moment. I can't post the link because I'm a new user but if you google "Wired xbox controller not working with LG G2" it should pop in the first result, it's a stack exchange question.
No solution yet?
i can see on youtube xbox pads are recognized on N7 but not N5.
I tried with a CABLED Saitek P2600 and a Generic GameStop pad, both workin ok.
But both wireless and wired xbox 360 pads are not even detected. What's wrong with N5 and gamepads?!?!
Franco now has Xbox 360 controller drivers

I don't know what you are using, but a stock Nexus 5 as of 4/20/14 does NOT support the Xbox 360 wired controller out of the box. If you need me to make a video proving it, I can. The same cable and controller works just fine on my Tegra Note 7.
For anyone running CM11.....maybe vote this up? https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/CYAN-4469

Alright, I've been lurking forever for Windows Mobile stuff, but I just got an Adam.
I was trying to figure out if there was anyway to use a USB gamepad with the adam, and found an app named "Gamepad IME"
Apparently it works with pretty much every program I want it for. However, as the Adam has no market access, I can't find it anywhere. I don't have an android phone, so I can't rip the APK that way, and I can't find the APK anywhere on the net.
If anyone can get the APK for that app and post it here, that'd be fantastic.
First result for it when googling is the androlib page for it.
Update 2/2/11:
Ok, So I picked up one of these:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826179017
Which is a HID compliant gamepad. It's still not detected, I'm wondering if there's a compatability issue with the adam and the GamePad IME
Sven, the developer, has the source code up on his website: http://sven.killig.de/android/N1/2.2/usb_host/
Any intrepid coders care to look at it and see if there's any way to get it to function with the adam?
Here you go. I hope this will work, good luck!
You are fantastic. Thank you greatly.
Sadly, it seems that my USB gamepad(Which is just a PS3 usb adapter) doesn't function. I'll see if I can dig up any other USB gamepads that show up as general gamepads without drivers, and see if they work.
Anyone test the below
Xbox 360 usb controller
Wii controller via bluetooth
Ps3 controller via bluetooth
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
Tested PS3 controller via bluetooth, doesn't get detected when attempting to pair.
It seems the PS3 only enables pairing mode via usb through supported devices.
I don't own either of the others to test with, sadly.
I've tried a random PC gamepad and the xbox 360 usb controller but no luck here.

I wonder what it would take to get the 360 controller detected via usb.. would we need to compile drivers from windows or how would that work?

Love to see the Wireless 360 adapter for wireless 360 controllers.
Or even a PS3 controller via bluetooth should be achievable given the right devs who can look at the Windows Mobile app. I think it pairs via usb too.

What was that gamepad ime apk originally designed for? I can test the xbox 360 controller when I get back home with that gamepad apk.
sent from gv1.5 on g2
It was originally designed for the Nexus S, but I don't know what controllers it was designed for.
Hi,
My phone doesn't detect my Wired Xbox 360 Controller via the USB OTG cable. The cable is working normally, tried with a mouse and keyboard.
The lights just keep flashing on my controller and it doesn't respond to button presses. I was under the impression this controller should work natively with Jelly Bean, without any configuring, as I've seen many guides to just plug and play.
Am I doing something wrong or do other people have the same issue?
I thought I was the only one who wanted to do this... unfortunately support needs to be added in the kernel I believe, and in the appropriate .kl file. I have not tried just modifying the .kl yet, as I got a moga.
even ive purchased a og usb otg cable 4 the same reason & also 2 use external hdd drives but the controller behaves the same 4 me & abt the hdd thing is still unknown.

i am using a xbox wired controller .
i am missing something? Do i need to o anything in particular for it to work??
i search on the internet, they all said it works plug & play.

If the 360 turned on then yes you are doing something wrong. Also I don't believe it's plug and play solo, you need something on the pad to make it work. If you look on the store you will find a few of them, I used to use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller&hl=en for awhile but there are many out there for both ps3 and 360 controllers. Ps3 just happens to be easier then needing the wireless addon.
It should just work as this was added as part of stock rom since honeycomb

Are you just trying to connect via bluetooth? I haven't done this in a long time (way back on my Xoom) but I thought you needed a 3rd party app and Root access to link them.

Moga has an app can be downloaded from the play store (moga pivot) and yes it uses bluetooth. This should work without root. If you google moga is a big name which should work on android 2.3 and above. I think the reason is samsung which is now blocking all 3rd part devices from 4.4.2 but I am not sure. I think the only option left is the samsung gamepad..
Not for $100 bucks. That's plain crazy

If anyone gets a wired xbox controller to work, please let us know what you did. I was totally just hoping it was going to work and it doesn't. (at least for me). I just get a blinking light on the xbox controller. I have the 10.5.
I even rooted and installed USB/BT JoystickCenter Gold Demo but then that gets a 'can not get access to /dev/uinput error'

Has anyone been able to get the sixaxis app working? I can't... I believe it has to do with a missing Samsung Bluetooth protocol in newer Samsung devices.
That was one of my main reasons for getting a tablet!
Not that it matters but I emailed Samsung support and their response: Thank you for contacting Samsung. I see that you would like to know whether Galaxy Tab S supports hooking up to a wired xbox USB controller. I do understand your concern and requirement. However, this Tablet does not support wired xbox USB controller. Unfortunately, as of now theere are no compatible controllers that use an USB OTG cable for this model from Samsung and Samsung does not have any tested results on using PS3 controller with the Tablet. I hope the above provided information address your concern.
controller recharges the tablet
is it possible to connect the controller (that has a battery pack) to the tablet and recharge the tablet?
eg. can a xbox one controller, that has a battery pack, be connected with an mhl cable/usb cable to a tablet and be used to charge the tablet? so the tablet is not drained while playing games.
(i asked this in the accessories forum too, apologies)

I tried that, but the Galaxy Tab won't find the controllers. I've set it up on multiple devices, but couldn't get it working on this one.
I read that the newer Samsung devices don't come with a Bluetooth protocol that is required for sixaxis to work... I hope I'm wrong!
I can't seem to get the Dual shock 3 (PS3 controller) to work wired with my device. It works without problems on my brother's Nexus 5. Wirelessly using the sixaxis controller app it works without problems, but through an OTG cable it doesn't. Is the device not supported? Is there any known way to add support to a ROM?
Cheers
Why not using the gamepad with Bluetooth...if it works use it with that instead of breaking your head because wired it doesn't work

The only reason I can think of is the idea it would use less battery but I don't see that being true.
Because I want to use it with gamestream and since Bluetooth and WiFi uses the same antenna it interferes and gives me lag.

No you can use the app without Bluetooth ... You can use it even if you connected the ps3 controller wired ...Normally it should work ... Also if it's connected wired look in keyboard settings if the pad is mentioned there.
And in sixaxis app you also need to enable the option that the pad like the native gamepad

If you go into the settings inside the sixaxis app you can enable that the pad will be saw by system as native gamepad...try that also ...if not it could be that your otg cable doesn't work good with the gamepad...mine works really fine without problems ...only some games aren't able to be played with this controller

The dualshock 4 controller works natively on the m8 wired.
You can use it scroll through the screens and select apps. Not all games work, minecraft being one, but a lot do.
The buttons can be a bit odd though. For example in goat simulator, the options button is headbutt. Quite frustrating.
Does anybody know if there is there anyway of remapping the buttons?
