Is there a way I can disable hardware overlays if I have GB 2.3.6? I need it disabled for an app called Screencast.

Apparently, you can set in build.prop debug.sf.hw to 0.

I search for app with video capture of my display. Does it exists?
Only if you have root, in which case you can use the app Screencast - https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5tcy5zY3JlZW5jYXN0Il0.
There is a demo app here (but it really is limited) - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ms.screencastfree&feature=more_from_developer
You may find you need to tell the settings to record in a higher resolution to make it work.

do we have anything on the camera shutter sound front? Id really love to silence it for good because not only is it abnoxious, but its also loud! preferably something simple for us who have the phones intact with all the bloatware and not rooted? plain old official out of the box stuff.

Without root ... i don`t think so
U must modify /system/CSC/others.xml and add
Code:
<CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>true</CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>
with root it's possible by using wanam exposed.

was really hoping to avoid it. why is it so hard to do such a simple thing?

Because in some countries it is forbidden to make "silent photo" or "spy photo" that is why they disable that menu

Works perfectly, thanks!
PS: I needed to reboot my phone before the menu item in the cam options appeared.

doesnt seem to work on mine was really excited when I saw your post
Sorry for asking, but just to be sure: Have you run the ESS app and checked the 'Disable STREAM_SYSTEM_ENFORCED' checkbox?
It was definitely working on my S4 mini with stock firmware (at that time).

I saw the prompt for this feature when first using youtube and immediately regretted enabling it. It oversaturated everything. Now I cant find the setting to turn it off. It seems to be an setting for some of the google apps like youtube and video.

I was told to repost this problem in the apps thread so here I am I have a OnePlus 3 on Open Beta 13. I downloaded Google camera 4.3 and everything works except a few features are missing, but the real problem is that when I click on the "Slow Motion" option, the app crashes. I thought maybe if I did the 720 with sound mod it'd fix it, but it still force closes. I've tried with other versions, slomo still crashes. Please help

I guess there's nothing wrong with it, just looking for a change of pace and I enjoy the photosphere and lens blur options. The mod for slow motion would be great if I could just get it to work too! Any other help or suggestions??

I'm having a weird issue with this (title of the thread)... was your problem that the changes to animation scale didn't stick ?
If so, how did you fix it?

My issue was due to the app called aodnotify. They released an update that tries to fix the notification for the note 10+ called "alternative note 10 fix" if you have the app turn that feature off.
Any chance for 0.25 animation scale?

I'm using SystemUI Tuner and it has the option to set the animation scale to whatever you want.
The option is found under miscellaneous.

Haven't tried immersive mode
Honestly I have it installed on my S10+ so I installed it on my Note 10+ when I was setting it up. I was ready to uninstall it because I didn't see a need for it and then noticed the animation speed setting and keep it just for that. To me 1.0 is a little to slow and the next stock option (.50) was a little to fast.
