Has anyone managed to get the Google Experience Launcher (GEL) on a Sony Xperia S with a locked bootloader running stock 4.1.2?

Did you try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2514743
I did try that one but it doesn't have the Google Now integration. I actually use KitKat launcher by Ovidos as its the closest. What I am really trying to do is to actually use the 3 files bit as I said the launcher force closes.

Hi! This simple app adds a launcher icon for the Camera application on Nexus 7 tablet. What's the main difference between my app and "MoDaCo Camera Launcher"? My app is translated to 50 languages when MoDaCo's isn't translated. The second difference is SDK version - I used Jelly Bean SDK when MoDaCo used old version (Gingerbread probably).
This is my second Nexus-7-only app. I hope you'll enjoy it.

It's normal Jellybean behavior, the same as on Galaxy Nexus.

Nice, thanks for this. Modaco's never worked on my N7 for some reason, but yours does. I guess the SDK version was what was giving me problems. Awesome work

You shouldn't need it. Cm10 already has the camera launcher.
On another note I seriously don't know why Google didn't enable this without a need for an app. Of course they also made chrome the default browser they've already made some questionable decisions.

This from the play store gives you a working three ringed clock on any launcher/ROM for those who dont want to flash. Been using for months and I am very happy.
Yeah the play store download doesn't have interactive service .
I was on a mission to find this Lol.
It works on most android phones . s3 .note .note 2 my nexus 4...
It uses its own launcher . just install each apk through astro and it works fine.
Cheers.

Don't think so. It comes up with an error, at least it did on Nova. It seems integrated to the launcher.

Any way to get the circles widget working on stock and custom launchers?

When you long press the Softkeys on the Nexus 4 you see a Google Button from where you can get quick access to Google now. I want do know now where this image is placed because I want to change it and flash it. Does anyone know how to do this?
I am on stock rom and rooted by the way.

Don't know how you can do it on stock but some custom ROMs include the feature. I'm using slim ROM......

I just want to change the image of the Google Now Button, not adding anything to the Navring. So instead of this white Button with black Google logo an other picture.

I would search for it in system/framework/systemUI/res/drawables/xhdpi (or hdpi for other screens)
AW: [Q] Google Now Navring Shortcut
You mean /system/app/systemUI/... don't you?

Oh, of course. This is what I meant to say. I mixed it up with the framework resources
AW: [Q] Google Now Navring Shortcut
Good idea but it is not the right one :/
I also searched for it in /system/framework/framework-res.apk/... and /system/app/velvet/...
I often saw the image but when I flashed it nothing changed there :/

Yes "..." is just /res/drawable-xhdi
so it is/system/app/systemUI.apk/res/drawable-xhdpi

the image file is in the google search apk, not the system framework.

This is going to seem like a weird one, but I can't find the stock widget that's used for clock and weather when I use Nova launcher. Anyone have the file or know where to find it? Thanks.

If you change launchers you usually don't get access to the stock widgets LG and Samsung only allow you to use it if you use their launcher.

Launchers are different, you can make your own personal launcher that looks similar to touchwiz and you can run it on stock or aosp ROMs like any other third party launcher out there. That's why you are able to use the Google Launcher, Next Launcher etc on AOSP 4.2, 4.3 as well as 4.4 ROMs
But when it comes to actual apps like S-Note, S-Memo, Samsung Keyboard, they are have dependencies on the Samsung Firmware and therefore are a big pain to even try to port to a non-stock ROM
Ok...thnks for the info. I think i need to switch to other launcher.
