When you long press the Softkeys on the Nexus 4 you see a Google Button from where you can get quick access to Google now. I want do know now where this image is placed because I want to change it and flash it. Does anyone know how to do this?
I am on stock rom and rooted by the way.

Don't know how you can do it on stock but some custom ROMs include the feature. I'm using slim ROM......

I just want to change the image of the Google Now Button, not adding anything to the Navring. So instead of this white Button with black Google logo an other picture.

I would search for it in system/framework/systemUI/res/drawables/xhdpi (or hdpi for other screens)

You mean /system/app/systemUI/... don't you?

Oh, of course. This is what I meant to say. I mixed it up with the framework resources

Good idea but it is not the right one :/
I also searched for it in /system/framework/framework-res.apk/... and /system/app/velvet/...
I often saw the image but when I flashed it nothing changed there :/

Yes "..." is just /res/drawable-xhdi

Hi! I'd like to change the colour of my notification tray as it looks a bit dull as it is. Can this be done? My device isn't rooted. THANKS!

Until no custom rom you can do nothing.
You can try status bar + app but this is either workaround.

You can change it but it requires a bit of hacking with the ui.

Custom roms have this. I'm using EOS and you can make it any color in the interface system options.

There is probably an image in SystemUI.apk in res/drawable-x-xdpi that is called notification_panel_bg.9.png you can change that then zipalign the apk

Doesn't this still require root access to edit that file? Modifying your OS is part of the benefit of rooting. I don't think there is any other way around it.

Hello
Looking around the Web and everything, I notice dash clock takes up the whole screen and it looks good. But when I unlock my phone, it only takes half the screen and the other half is taken by the security pattern or pin code. When I swipe down the pattern area goes away and it takes the full screen. Is there anyway to make it full screen by default? Thanks!
The attachments below explain what I'm saying if I made it sound confusing!
I'm running 4.2.1 supernexus 2.0 build 2

Thanks for the quick answer. But there is no options option in cm10. The way I find my lock screen is I go in security and there is lock screen options there. So you're saying it has something to do with my ROM? It's pure nexus so if it works on nexus 4 and whatnot it should work on mine also
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
i thought everytime u use security pattern or passcode for unlocking lock screen it will squeeze the widget like that
His answer is correct, you have to choose "maximize widget" on cm10.1, pure nexus might not have something like this since they often port features much later than CM10.1 nightly. Wait until next update or use cm10.1 nightly.

You could install the RAZR M launcher. Google for the zip file. You'll have to install all apks in the zip (including the launcher) for it to work

Am I the only one that can't add more pages to the homescreen? I've tried dragging icons and widgets to the right, but seems like I'm limited to the one main page and the google now section to the left.
