[Flashable Zip] Traslucent Bar for Factory Image - Nexus 4 Themes and Apps

So i have decompiled, modded and recompiled the framework-res.apk of factory image and now you can have the status+nav bar traslucent even in lockscreen (for traslucent bar in launcher you need Google Launcher) just flash it on a custom recovery
16O (old factory image):
Download Here
Mirror:
SpeedyShare
Dev-Host
16S (new factory image):

If you got bootloop get here the restore zip file:
16O:
Download
16S:

THIS IS ONLY FOR FACTORY IMAGE (i have tested only on that)
Thanks to @Quinny899 for the Guide

getting bootloops on stock factory image

everything works fine now, thanks OP
using TWRP 2.6.3.0 and SuperSu v1.69 with official factory image, clean install.
and everyone who wants to try this out still download the restore just in case.

What kind of modifications did you have to make to framework-res.apk?

If you forgot the restoration, put it in your ADB folder, enter recovery and flash on sideload (CWM)
not work for me the translucent effect.

Also didnt work for me. Tried to adb sideload, but adb now wont recognize device while in bootloader fastboot or recovery

Getting a bootloop here as well, factory image with cwm

in CWM, goto Install Zip / Install zip from sideload.
NOW goto adb and type : adb sideload framework-res-tore.zip

Uhm really strange guys... Btw I have only changed to true the option for translucent in bools.XML file on framework/res/value folder.. And then compiled with apktool and flashed. Really really strange.. Someone got bootloop even after flash the restore file? BTW I have flashed it with twrp latest version...

I'm uploading an apk signed with zipsigner... Maybe I have not signed well the first on the zip... Just wait, then try and let me know... I'll update with flashable zip later if works...
Edit: here the apk, seems like I forgot to sign the first time, sorry guys... Try this https://mega.co.nz/#!l9s1mJKK!jA_8NOi8pfT50-S67I74SMIrHwZYBqsqmBFQAX1X0sY

I made my own mod framwork-res.apk, properly signed. It also bootloops.
Not sure why.

Here's another (yes it's different) flashing zip, let me know if this work---> https://mega.co.nz/#!h8tCXJ6Q!V1uCsjJ_SMz-jougWpB69WZr9BN4nJdihXeu0mI2mv8 sorry guys it's my first time of "modding" i've tried on my device the first time and work totally so i thought to share with community... sorry for the trouble... hope this one will work (i can't try since here it's 5:45 am and i'm writing by pc in stealth mode )
Try this if the two above doesn't work, and let me know if this work... if doesn't i'll try better tomorrow since i need to rest some time...
maybe can share with you what i do in the first time (before sharing my zip with you) i've modded the apk, signed with multitool then flashed: result bootloop, after i have flashed the res-tore.zip booted and recompiled the apk without signing then flashed and it was working... so i have uploaded to mega.. it's really strange because my framework-res.apk isn't signed but work. (maybe is a permission problem?)

Hm, as the factory image is odexed, isn't that causing the issue ?

Superwiped without rom

Hi!
I think I may have bricked my phone. I superwiped but I forgot to put a ROM
so now I have nothing on my phone.
Can I flash a ROM from my computer to my phone?
Thx in advance!
Flash a stock image using the Google images, then you can re-flash a custom one
If you still have cwr, mount USB in cwr, put a rom on there, flash from. If you don't have a recovery, you should be able to adb push the recovery file and flash through boot loader, then mount USB in recovery, copy rom to phone, flash.

If you're a n00b then why on earth did you unlock the phone in the first place? Surely you should've researched what you were doing in case something like this happened?

all is very easy to fix
1. Change ROM name to rom.zip
adb shell
mount /data
exit
adb push rom.zip /data/media
Now reboot into recovery and flash ROM.
Its all in here

That stupid GoogleEarth.apk :'(

I'm using Samsung Galaxy Nexus 'maguro' and I'm desesperated...
I deleted my GoogleEarth.apk, and I cant update my Android 4.1.2, I know... I'm the supid here T_T
Each time that I reboot my device, he said about the update... I have found in the entire 'www' without a easy solution... I only need the apk of the GoogleEarth, with hashes that starts with 57c34... or 7788a... (one is fromthe versión 4.1.2 and the other is from 4.2) I've read that either works...
I don't know if someone could me the favor of check their GoogleEarth or say me how can obtain the file... I have a lot of dumps without the GoogleEarth.apk, some GoogleEarth.apks with different hashes and the factory images from google (that I can't mount for get the files)
Someone helps me?
Thank you!!!
Not sure why you *need* the .apk for Google Earth in order to update but you could always just wipe and flash the factory images...

I need the apk because I get the message:
assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/app/GoogleEarth.apk", "57c34...", "7788a...")
when I try to update my system >.<
I know that I can wipe to factory... but I only need a file for the update T_T wipe will be my last option.
Maybe try installing it from the market, move it from /data/app to /system/app with a file manager, reboot, then try to update Might work.

How about getting the galaxy nexus toolkit and flashing the factory image for android 4.2.1 it is a bit pain staking to create a backup and flash but it is your easiest and best bed. If this helps please press the thanks button.

I really love you!!
My update now failed for the file in '/system/framework/framework-res.apk' with hashes 'beb094...' or '33270...'
someone have a file that match?? I would really apreciate it *__*
I didn't delete this file but perhaps was modified for any application (That seem that this file is related with the original theme of android and I installed several themes (with Go Launcher EX and others))
I will be searching it in the web!
---
I'm using a yakju device
I'm not sure why you're jumping through so many hoops rather than backup and flash a Factory build. You're making it a lot harder for yourself than it needs to be.
If I wipe I lost all the data, if I restore a couple files not,
My priority now is try to fix it, If i cant, I'll wipe my system
You can just flash system through fastboot though. You will not lose anything. You will just have root again.
Imo much easier. Anyway, i sent you a pm. Just make a nandroid before altering system files. Hope it helps.

Download a factory image. Extraxt it ( maybe twice, first is zip, srcond is tar).
Find system.img
Put it in platform-tools folder of your sdk.
Open command prompt and navigate to platform-tools folder.
Put your device in fastboot and enter
fastboot flash system system.img
Wait to be done. Reboot device (or will boot itself.)

Made flashable though Dsixda's toolkit, Thanks to dsixda for that toolkit!
I can't assure that this works on your Nexus, I ahve tested .zip files myself and works well on my Nexus!
If YOU get BOOTLOOP:
Flash another ROM and then wipe cache and dalvik cache and then flash this ROM!
Flash it at your own risk!
This isn't so good flashable.zip so you may end up to boot loop!
Use Fastboot to fix or any other fixing method!
If you don't have fastboot drivers install them from here: (It's for verizon variant, but works on Maguro)

Ohhh yes...downloading now, good job
Initial Review/Impressions:
Install went as smooth as any other flash install. It looks basically the same but the screen transitions are really smooth (note that I have not installed any apps yet, will update when I do). The first major difference you see is with the camera, the interface has been changed a bit and it does look cleaner, all the usual settings are there i.e. Photosphere etc.
I haven't noticed anything else at a first glance but I will keep on updating as I go along and I will also do a proper battery test.
The usual array of Google apps are pre-installed, although now Google Keep is also added, default browser is the regular android browser though, not Chrome. The usual wallpapers and live wallpapers are present, nothing new here either.
Thanks for making this available so quickly

[Q] TWRP v500.. Stuck

I am trying to install twrp 2.6.3.0 using a one click method that I found to work for others. I am rooted and it appears everything should work but I keep getting this blinking prompt and the process does not move any further. In all the directions it says to just follow the multiple prompts but I can't seem to get past this. Does anyone know what this means or what I could be doing wrong? That is an adb shell running under superuser on your tablet. There may be some script it wants you to run on the tablet. I personally am using CWM so I don't know all that much about TWRP (I didn't even put CWM on mine, I had a friend come over and help with that). So I know what that is but not why you have it or what you should do with it. Sorry.

Because nobody reads anything anymore. They just piecemeal together instructions from other devices and what they think will work and then cry and complain when it doesn't when they didn't follow instructions in the first place.
I will admit I did work all day and picked the v500 up the same day and just wanted to go home and have it just gel. Stayed up really late trying to put pieces together but for people unfamiliar with command prompts and such the "easy" methods can just come off as foreign. I used this post as a last resort. I appreciate people who create one click methods but if it wasn't for newbs then what would be the point of them at all? A guy has to start somewhere and learn as he goes.

I'm not sure what you want at this point. Did you go to the TWRP thread in the Original Android Development subforum? If so, find the link for TWRP 2.6.3.2 and download it to your PC. Move the file to your G Pad. Download the Flashify app from the Play Store. Open the app, and navigate to "Flash Recovery". Navigate to the file that you downloaded and flash it. That's it. And if you have more questions, ask them in the TWRP thread.

Get Flashify and install it . http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2349847.
Then go here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2551499.
Download the apropriate file ( V50010a /b /c , depending of what version you have on you tab ) then you will have to rename the file to TWRP.img , then download http://goo.gl/UlPy11 wich is the flashable TWRP.ZIP.
Now copy those two files for you SD or externalSD.
Run flashify and select Recovery Image and use the file you renamed to TWRP.img and flash it,don´t reboot yet, select ZIP File and flash v500-TWRP_2.6.3.1-recovery.zip , wich the flashable zip you´ve downloaded second.
Now reboot and you should have your recovery.

I was having the same issue with the flashed TWRP hanging, when I rebooted I'd get:
Fastboot mode started
udc.start()
I followed your instructions exactly, and still no luck -- same reboot error. Any other ideas, or should I try the adb method instead?
thanks!

I've got the same issue. Is there any way to get this done
I have version v500d20. The twrp.lok mentioned in the threads are only for versions v500a10 b,c,e. So no d and no 20. Could this be the problem?
