I couldn't see this posted elsewhere, apologies if I've missed it though.
For the last week or so, I've been getting intermittent problems with the forum site, and all the other sites I use are fine.
When clicking on links/trying to post/refreshing the page etc, then occasionally I get a timeout from my browser saying the site is taking too long to respond. I retry and it works fine.
It seems like perhaps there's a server that is slow to respond, and retrying managed to get onto another server ?
Surely it's not just me getting this ?
A few days ago there was some probs due to server stuff but now all is ok

Correct, we had some intermittent issues on Monday and Tuesday (November 15th and 16th).
If you continue see any errors, please do let us know immediately. Thanks!
I had the problem several times earlier today. It's been ok just now, I'll report if it keeps happening, thanks.
It just happened again. Approx 60 seconds ago from this posting.
Still getting this problem. Sorry if this seems like I'm bumping the thread, I'm just trying to show that I'm still seeing it, it hasn't gone away.
ive noticed XDA has been slow for weeks now compared to any other website i go on. not had it time out though. seems to of got worse since the new theme was implemented. it was ok before then.
*just found the option to switch it back to class xda and seems a lot faster now. looks like my pc doesnt like the new theme. might be worth trying a different theme steviewevie...
Ok, I'm not sure what's going on or how to fix this. Yesterday, I couldn't connect to the market, it kept telling me it was a network error. I could still browse the internet no problem. Then I notice that Facebook wasn't updating, so it is a connection issue. It's weird that I could still browse the internet and Google+ would load my streams as well as upload photos that were taken. I decided to do a full wipe (data/cache/dalvik) and re-install Oxygen2.1.6.
The re-install went fine, but now I still cannot connect to the Market so my apps aren't re-installing. Any ideas what might fix this since a full wipe didn't help?
Nothing had changed between the connection working and it not working. The phone wasn't rebooted, nothing changed in my APN settings either. Connection bars are all green.
Everything works fine when I'm connected to wifi.
*Restoring a previous backup doesn't work either and whenever I try to re-flash 2.1.6 I get a bootloop. So confused.
Nobody knows?
Really don't want to flash the RUU and re-root/s-off again if I don't have to. Just seems weird to me that this was working one evening then suddenly not working the next day with no re-boot or anything different installed in between.
I'm not using a desire but rather a nexus s.. but I'm having the exact same issue. I've tried just about everything except unrooting to fix it.

I'm going to try flashing a different radio when I get home but I can't really see that fixing it as it's been working with no issues since I first rooted it a while back.
I tried several radios with no success. Its so strange. Gmail, xda, browser work.. but no market, Facebook, or twitter widget updates from launcher pro. I'm so confused.

Yea, all the same here. My YouTube app doesn't work either.
I've been experiencing the same problems. I've been researching and tinkering and I've found some interesting things out.
First off I am going to assume that you two are on the TELUS network, you never said but that is what I am on and I have heard no information about it occuring on other networks
I noticed it yesterday and initiated several re-flashes and radio updates, none of which helped. Today I went into TELUS and they told me that they have been having alot of people with the telus bravo encountering similar issues. So instead of frowning and walking out I decided to ask if I could speak to the technician.
According to him the issue is not a connection to the network, rather that either the phones radio or the network is dropping the connection partway through data transfer. Therefore you can get through the connection, DNS and handshake processes, but it will fail during the transfer of data, but at no specified time. So I could use Grasscities Tapatalk app because it was just transferring text and other light data, but downloading large amounts of data winds up failing, which is why you can’t get market to work. TELUS does not know if the issue is only affecting desires (looks like it’s wider than just that) or if it is happening on any other network. They are in the information gathering phase and still waiting on a reply from HTC’s technical team to see if it is a problem affecting the radios.
I’ve spent most of the last 48 hours trying to solve this problem with no luck. TELUS has assigned me top level case advisement so I will update this thread as I know more about the problem. In the meantime, and I know how much it sucks, you will have to stick with wifi (as will I T_T)
Yeah, I'm on Telus. That would explain why a friend with a Nexus S on Rogers had no problems at all. I sure hope Telus figures this out soon. For now, I'm subscribing to this thread and hoping you hear something back. I'll update if I notice my data connection has returned to normal. Thanks for the info!
Also on Telus. Thanks so much for the update. I was thinking it was something on their part and have been meaning to call them but I'm at work. Just kinda assumed it wasn't their fault since some data did work, but it's good to have an answer.
Now I just need to figure out why my phone keeps bootlooping on a fresh 2.1.6 Oxygen install.
No problem guys, I know how frazzled you feel; I’ve been the exact same way for the last 48 hours.
Though I must say I am surprised that the forums are not all aflutter with discussion about this. The way the technician at TELUS was talking it sounded like they were getting a lot of calls about this. But dear freaking god I hope they get this solved soon… and if not then they had better let me out of my contract.
glad to hear it's not just me.. this has been happening since I went and saw U2 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto Monday night.. Every time I tried to upload pics I was taking at the concert it would just pause on the upload, or fail out completely.. my signal was dropping to nothing there as well.. I thought, being at the "Rogers" centre, that perhaps they'd set up a Telus signal blocking station
But then the problems have continued through to today. Some stuff kinda works.. I can get FB and Twitter updates from my Colorize Widgets, but can't actually use the FB app. twitter.com works, but facebook.com doesn't. google works sometimes.. but most pages time out in the manner mentioned above.
Quite annoying.
That's weird. This has been happening since yesterday for me, but last night it had no problems Instant Uploading pictures to Google+.
Some functionality has returned for me. Market still won't load.. but Facebook half-loads and the twitter widget in launcherpro is loading again. They must be working on it. I hope they fix it all soon.

Still all down on my end. Hope it gets resolved by tomorrow.

I've installed latest 4r1 beta and see that many people in rom thread have wi-fi working via setting static ip against dhcp, but my phone can't even see any wi-fi networks. Other roms work well and just updated to Vision_Radio_12.62.60.27_26.13.04.19 but still no wi-fi. I wonder if anyone can help or atleast post this question to main thread as im new member and can't post in ad development topics.
Send the op of ROM thread a private message if you can't post in said thread.

Hi, I have the same problem. Available networks are not appear when turning on wifi. I am currently on ICS_AOSP_Vision_beta8r5 (BTW great rom).
I hope devs will help us with this issue.
I'm not running an ICS ROM at the moment, but I had the same problem and figured it out. If I remember correctly, at the top of the list (above the list of networks) there's a toggle you need to switch on. It wasn't obvious, just happened to find it by accident. Check it out.
I have been experiencing sporadic login failures error messages both in my Gnex and Nexus 7, the message reads that there was a problem communicating with google servers, a couple of friends also have experienced the same. I have not identified when or what is triggering the error.
Is anyone else having this problems? any information?
regards
I've been gotten the notification a few times today. It doesn't show which specific g-app that may be causing it, however clicking the notification appears to alleviate it.

Chrome on my laptop just asked me to login again but it's the only time it's happened

Yes, I also experienced couple of Google login issues since my GNex got the OTA update for 4.2 yesterday.
I've received numerous notifications on both my GNex and N7 today. If I recall, I actually saw the first one last night, on my GNex. But mine don't appear to affect functionality at all, even if i don't clear the notification.
I will add that in the previous two days, my GNex was having problems staying connected to the Google servers (gray signal bars) and that *did* kill sync, but didn't have an accompanying notification. It even killed my data connection altogether a few times, which required either an airplane mode toggle or a reboot. That hasn't happened today though.
Phew! Can't wait for 4.2.1.
I am having this issue as well.
I believe that it started yesterday. But I have been mainly noticing it today.
Anyone know the cause?
I haven't received the upgrade to 4.2 yet
Not running a Nexus (GS2 with SuperNexus ROM, though.... ), but I've been getting this as well. Saw a post from awhile back about logging in and out of Google+ to fix it, but that didn't take. Tried disconnecting and reconnecting my account, but also no bueno. Interestingly, I haven't seen this issue on my N7, today.
Got it a couple hours ago, I think I just clicked the notification and I haven't got it again. The last time this happened was the Google Now outage a month back.
Google must be making some changes to something....................
Having the issue here on my Galaxy Note (1), and but not my Nexus 10 or Sony Google Tv.

Appearing on both Nexus devices (toro 4.1.1) and Xoom on 4.1.2. Happened several times to me today, only once on my wife's Nexus. Maybe they're fixing the package notification in Google Now before black Friday shopping begins.

Same here. I just switched from stock to CM 10 around that time so I was figuring it was residual from flashing over. I'll take that over the constant prompt for the 4.2 OTA I was stuck with though

I'm also having this problem on my Galaxy Nexus. I first noticed it Tuesday night, it happened twice yesterday and once today so far.
I've been getting it on my 4.1 Nexus for the past few days. Calendar shows a sync error on occasion.
I have been getting it as well since yesterday. I got it early today too. My girlfriend has a G2X and she got it as well. It must be something going on with Google servers again-I remember having that kind of issue a couple of months ago-it got fixed within 2-3 days.
"me too"
This has been happening to me to, seems to have started a few days ago- happens multiple times a day. Annoying as hell, BUT, doesn't seem to affect phone functionality, at least as far as I have noticed.
Stock Galaxy Nexus, stock OTA Jelly Bean 4.2. No rooting or other funniness.
For now, I'm going to give it a week and hope Google becomes aware of it and fixes this.
I saw one post in another forum that deleting the account on the phone fixes it, but I can't confirm that. I also don't want to lose all my text messages, so only going to do this as a last resort.
One time a few hours ago, all OK now.
not sure why it happened (phone not connected to usb), but i've also been noticing some disconnecting and reconnecting since yesterday, and one time play store "could not find a data connection". i'm sure its temporary.
Hi guys, I am wondering if you can help me- I read some topics on this forum and didn't find a solution to my problems.
Two months ago I bought a note 2 with 4.1.2 version software.
Two weeks ago I had a notification about a upgrade and I accepted it thinking that it will be 4.2.2.
To my surprise the version of the software didin't change and it still is 4.1.2.
From that moment my problems started- my battery drains faster than it did before and I have some internet issues.
After a while of usage the speed of my wifi internet slows down till it finally stops working even though the wifi connection is still on (connected to the internet).
I have to turn the wifi off an on and than it starts working immediately.
What can cause these problem, is it possible to fix them?
I guess I don't have to mention how irritated I am with this fact making my Note 2 useless in some cases.
Thank you for your help.
Bart
Regarding wifi speed: try to set a static ip instead of dhcp assigned, this has solved the issue for me (more of a workaround than a solution, hopefully it will be fixed in 4.2.2) .
Cheers
John
