You guys should try this case too. (Incipio Feather case) I spent like 3 days searching for the perfect case for my captivate (from silicone case to leather pouch) and this one has by far the best quality and look, not to mention about the extreme thinness. Got it this afternoon and fits perfect to the phone and looks great as in the picture. The only draw back is that it doesn't cover the front side, but I can live with that.
I loved that case with my iphone, it's crazy light and thin. The only problem I had on my iphone is all I could get was white and it got nasty dirty in a week, so I would advise against white

Is it made of the soft rubber like material that gathers dust?
it's made of plastic, but looks like it's mixed w/ some sort of rubber or soft material because it's got that little bit of soft touch. (maybe that's why it's more flexible too) So far it doesn't gather any dust like some silicone cases do, but i will have to see more since i just got it today.
i wish they had more colors. Black phones get lost in the void that is my purse.

Ebay captivate incipio and they have the exact same case but in pink (but its called magenta)
From the eBay description: "With a convenient two-part sliding design, the EDGE™ embodies innovative cases focused on accessibility. Simply remove the bottom cap to dock your device in most any docking station for quick and easy charging."
I have a home dock I put the phone in every night. This is the main reason I stopped using a case. How does this design work with the Samsung dock? I can't tell from the pictures and I'm not willing to risk $25 to find out.

Not sure if you realize but the EDGE is a different case than the Feather, which is what the OP got. Again, sorry if you knew that. Just thought you might not realize.

I thought so, but the one I was looking at on eBay (that I took that quote from) matched the one in the pic the OP posted.
Just wondering if this slides on like a silicone case or if it clips on like other hard plastic cases, is it hard plastic or like a hard silicone?
Any way you could take a picture, the incipio site doesn't really show anything to great about it?
Does it fit tight?
How does it hook on?
Even though I'm a dude I'm tempted to get the "Magenta" one just to spruce up my phone haha.
Is it hard to get on and off? I need to replace my battery once a day.
The Feather is 1 piece that snaps on, and from the pictures, it looks like it only hugs the corners. The EDGE is a 2 piece snap on case.

Does anyone have any photos of this case from the top or sides? I can't find any real world or manufacturer pics of that.
that looks nice
it doesn't cover the edges and by the looks of it, it only protects the back and if you place it face down it won't lift the phone off the surface any
It looks nice but it doesn't protect anything. The corners and front have no protection. With my experience when you drop a phone the corners get messed up
While searching ebay, I came across an interesting leather cover for the SGS2. It's a little costly but I like that it's sleek yet protects the phone from scratches. Just can't imagine how the thing stays on!
Folio simple leather case cover
Look good. I think they replace your battery cover, that's the only way they could stay on.
Right, that makes sense! Thanks!
Let us know how it goes. looks gd.
I'm still trying to do some research about which cover to get, and came across the Korean page.
Looks like the folio has some antibacterial properties!
I might "break the bank" *as regards the price for phone covers, and purchase one of these, can anyone give a review assuming someone has already purchased one of these.:
Quite like the look of it and the "idea" of it replacing the battery cover.
Shame I already bought a Zenus cover for mine :/
Let us know if you get it, would be good to know if it works well.
Haven't bought the case yet. I read that it has antibacterial properties, which made me re-think about it.
BTW, I came across another cool Korean leather case:

I'm looking for light-weight leather cases but am not sure which one to get at the moment! Any thoughts about this?
Hello,
can any one tell me whether there is for the LG G Pro? (Softtouch = effect like a rubber)
cheers, Peter

I don't know if there is a replacement back you can get for it, but there are a few lightweight cases Ive seen that have that kind of texture. You might have some luck with that... and you won't lose NFC antenna (which is attached to the back plate.)
You also have to think the Qi wireless receiver is on the battery cover, maybe nfc as well.

I would love to have this too - soft touch cover that includes Qi and NFC! As others have said, a lightweight thin case might help. I just ordered an Incipio feather case that should be here in a couple of days so I can report back. It looks similar to what I had for my Galaxy S3 and I liked that a lot.
i searched for something similar but didn't find any :crying:
i don't like to put a case on but a soft touch back cover only for extra grip
Given the nature of LG phones, I doubt it's going to be popular enough to receive the kind of aftermarket battery cover that some of the other popular phones out there get. The closest thing you can probably find to get a grippier back would be this:
http://www.buychina.com/items/lg-f2...ticker-diy-color-film-color-paste-ruprqqrojil
Basically a 3M film, like what dbrand makes. Alternatively you could try Armorsuit/Skinomi's carbon fiber skins, but I think they're rather overpriced.
I did see on a different forum that if you get the Xtremeguard full body protection kit, then the section that covers the battery door can make it a lot grippier, even if you don't use the screen protector portion. I saw it for like $4 or $5 on ebay. One concern I had though was that the back portion looked bigger than the battery door, which means it will extend past the door and cover the sides of the phone - this would make it messy to remove the battery cover, if you do that regularly.
Yeah, came across the same problem, couldn't find good replacement back so I wrapped mine in black suede. Looks and feels awesome.

How did you do that? i.e., where did you get the material and how did you install?
I just got my Incipio Feather case yesterday. Kinda disappointed. Fit and finish and quality of materials is superb. But to me, the basic reason to get this case was to increase grip. And even though it's soft touch, it is almost as slippery as the phone itself! Might have to get a traditional TPU case and just live with the dust accumulation, or try something like you did.

I bought the suede from a JoAnn and craft store and used the 3M super77 multi purpose spray adhesive. To me it works out perfectly as the suede is very grippy. I can however understand if some people don't like it.
I'm using incipio case and I can confirm that the the wireless charging and NFC function working fine with the case.
So I got this case http://goo.gl/o5bKDZ and I'm very pleased with the front cover, however I'm not to fond of the textile feeeling back (battery)door part. So I'm wondering if there are any flip door cases wich still got the original rubbery gripping texture left or is there none to find?
I think there all the same my friend. I got the royal blue one and it has the same textured back
Hmm that's to bad, might have to build something myself XD.
I am thinking about getting a case for my phone, but I also want to get the leather back, but it seems like a waste to put a case over the leather back. Do you guys think a case is necessary to protect the phone?
It is a waste if choosing a back case. But a hybrid kickstand case is a good choice for your g4.
have you considered a bumper case so you get the best of both worlds?

get a bumper.
you won't have to worry if you drop your phone on the front, sides or the corners, and your leather would get as much wear as if you're going naked.
Yeah I didn't even think of a bumper. Can you guys suggest some good ones?
yes, case is necessary for me. and i am using a wallet type leather case and it's function is useful for me.
A case is not necessary if you're careful in general. That's me, but dropping your phone is practically inevitable. If I don't drop it, someone will do it for me.
Naked is always the prettiest choice, but you gotta protect your investment.
I bought a bumper, the QuickCircle, and a wallet case by Goospery.
I dig the aluminium bumper because it's discreet, but it doesn't protect the back cover that bulges out.
I like the QuiCircle flip case because it actually adds functionality (and wireless charging in some cases), but the flipping is inconvenient to me and it hides the phone
I like the Goospery wallet case beacuse of the colors and wallet convenience, but it's HUGE, it adds at least 2 cm in height to the phone
In all honesty, I'll be playing around with them, but eventually I'll go back to naked
Hope this helps
Edit:
Aluminium bumper
QuickCircle
Goospery Wallet
I got the leather-backed model, so putting a case on it sounds a bit like a waste.
No case or anything for me. I'm waiting to find a good bumper that hours on and off easily add I plan to replace the battery semi regularly. I have yet to find a bumper that goes on and off easily yet though.
I bought a cheap rubber case from Amazon (£1.50). I have the plastic backed phone so no worries about the leather but the case gives me a little more grip and a little more protection without adding much bulk. It'll do me!
I think a case is an absolute necessity. But I just have the plastic-backed phone. I wouldn't want to cover up the leather back if I had it.
I LOVE the Slim Exact Fit Hard cases. Especially the Incipio Feather because it has a nice soft matte rubbery feel, but they don't make one for the G4. Instead I have the Spigen ExactFit case. It fits exactly the same but the finish (while matte) is slick, not rubbery.
But YES a case is needed. As little protection these "slim" fit cases provide, they do a whole lot surrounding the phones body. I have dropped mine, slid it across a parking lot, and all kinds of stuff. They do help keep the phone body from getting scratched and dented.
They are like $6. Well worth it. I have sent emails to Incipio to try and convey them to do a Feather Case.
Yes a case is necessary, I dropped my g4 2 days after i got it thank god i had a case on it
Had my g4 for a week and it slid out of my pocket getting out of my truck yesterday. Cover fell off and battery spilled out and everything and now my shiny new phone has a mean scuff on the very top left corner ((
I'm looking to get a metal bumper now.. Just wish there was one of those fancy Japanese brands available for it but do they even sell lg phones in Japan?
It is not necessary if you have lots of money to change phone every month.
Case is absolutely essential. The brown leather is really slippery compared to the plastic back, I managed to launch my phone within 2 days of recieving it. The screen may have survived the impact with a case - the plastic surround certainly wouldn't have had chunks gouged out of it...
The encouragement of going without a case so that the leather wears is going to cause an awful lot of broken glass.
Yes, a case is an absolute necessity if you want to keep it safe from drops. I recommend a Spigen hybrid or something similar that can shock absorb. I had a slim hard case on my nexus 6 and after a relatively minor fall it cracked. My insurance wrote it off and gave me a cash payout. I gut a neo hybrid straight away for my G4. Breaking your phone and having to wait for insurance is a right ball break.

I usually go with a case, however I feel that the G4 with a case will be a little too large for my hands.
For me the look of deep blue back is too nice to just cover up. I've opted for no case this time as the phone feels very nice in hand.
I do want to state that the shiny metal band has already shown scratching already.

You never need a case until you actually drop the phone.

In case you are not aware. It's a chrome plating. Not metal..
