Req. assistance on E4GT - won't boot and solid blue LED - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Whelp. Basically my old E4GT has been given to my mother as I've just gotten a Nexus 5 (mistake...) approximately 4 days ago. To that end I formatted and reflashed recalked 1.4.
It ran just fine for the past 4 days until today when my mother took it to the hospital and turned it off. According to her, she had to enter some pin for something and turned the phone off. Then she took it out again and it never turned back on and had the blue led. She took out the battery and and replaced it and nothing.
I got home, did soft reset and attempted to get the phone to boot in any manner possible (bootloader / recovery) and even connected it to my PC which does not detect the phone.
Here's how it's looking...

Anyone got any ideas?

That looks like the blue light of death. She did something with that PIN she entered. I'm afraid it's bricked.

Any way to recover such as a USB Jig or is it gone for good?

A USB jig is probably the only chance you got.

Nope. USB Jig didn't work... guess my old phone is gone for good...

You can try to jtag it. No guarantee it'll work, but at this point it's really the only option to revive it.

not to sound like a complete moron, but what is a usb jig?

[Q] Semi-damaged XDA Orbit

Hi everyone,
It is almost 2 weeks my XDA Orbit is not working properly. The first time it hanged-up during a call and afterwards it took me several resets to bring it back. During the system load the screen was changing colors and freezing, sometimes completely white, sometimes with some colorful stripes, sometimes solid violet. After several reboots I couldn't turn it on at all. I took it to local service, where they told me that the problem is with boot loader and fixed it. I took it back and have the same experience. I have flashed it with original ROM, both from PC or SD card, but the same problem exist. I am assuming that the issue is in a hardware defect. I know that it is the time to get rid of this PDA and get a new one.
Anyway... Is there a tool available for testing HTC hardware (CPU, flash)???

leave it off while charging, green led when done.
if its not your battery, i think its your lcd..
best to open the device and check your lcd is connected properly..

Opened my Orbit recently, the connector is in place. I would assume that the issue is more in battery then LCD. The battery surface is lofted.
Assuming that it's a battery issue - should the same happen if the device is always connected to external power supply?
...
LOL
get a new battery dude..
dont turn the device on untill the new battery is fully charged.
a simple fix hopefully..

FIGURED IT OUT!!!!
It was driving me CRAZY!!!
So is what causes this problems is the dock mode being stuck. When you dock your phone the dock connection completes a specific circuit in the phones USB port that will tell the phone it's in dock mode. This can get stuck when you accidentally push the wall charger into the phone UPSIDE DOWN (Which I did and then got the problem) bending that pin down completing the circuit permanently.
THE FIX:
Take something sharp and/or thin like a knife and push the pin up ever so slightly. DO NOT FORCE it as you will break the pin clean off. Once you disconnect the circuit, you'll see your phone turn it's screen on. That means you did it!
Good luck! And your welcome!

[Q] Hard bricked?

Ok, so two days ago I woke up to a dead phone.. Plugged my phone up, and it turned on by itself. The phone comes up to the lockescreen, but the power menu appears on it's own, and I realize that the phone is thinking that the power button is being held down. The phone continues to think the power button is being held down, however it's not stuck, the button can click just fine. At this point, my phone is stuck restarting itself so I take out the battery and set it aside for the day. I get home and try again, everything is normal, but the power button doesn't work. I get up the next morning and the phone is dead(presumably) and I plug it up to harge, however the battery animation and led light that usually turn on when I connect the phone don't show up! The phone doesn't power on, it doesn't charge(from what I see) and the power button is broken >_> I am rooted. I have CM10 installed, however I haven't modded in a few months, so I can't see what the issue is. Everything was working fine 3 days ago, however i think my phone is hard bricked.. Is there a way to get out of this? I have insurance, but my phone is rooted, so do you think sprint will accept the phone and give me a replacement? Can I unrooot the phone somehow before I turn it in?
Thanks for reading, any help is very appreciated
Insurance?
With sprint, you have the option to buy a protection plan, but they only cover certain things, and I don't know if they accept rooted devices

Nexus has grainy screen

Hey all; I got a Nexus 7 this past December and everything was working great until yesterday.
I took it out of my school bag and when I pressed the wake button this happened:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Now whenever I wake up my Nexus the same thing happens. Sometimes it goes back to normal after a few seconds, but it continually freezes or has random slow downs.
I reset the device and erased all my data and whatnot, but still the same has happened.
Any suggestions?
What ROM are you running, stock or custom? Try reflashing a ROM (let us know if you aren't familiar with that) in case something's corrupted. Hopefully it isn't something with hardware.
This should be a hardware failure.Take it to the service.
@Pandae: Everything was stock. @GeoVali99: Correct-o, sir!
Ended up being a hardware issue so I'm getting it repaired.
I appreciate the words though!
Hi!
I've got the same problem.
Can someone tell me how to fix that Problem by my self?
I have no guaranty left...
Thanks!

Not a big deal. The LCD is fine. What happened in my case when I got exactly the same screen is that the amber ribbon (LCD to motherboard) seated wrong, and I bent a pin on the motherboard connector out of shape. You open the back cover and reseat it, but make sure you do not damage the pins. In other words do it very gently, do not force anything, and monitor it all with the help of a magnifying glass.

Question phone wont turn on, part 2

this is a followup to this issue: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/phone-wont-turn-on-need-help.4477595/#post-87274135.
i let my battery drain for a few days, then plugged in my charger. after 5 min. of nothing i hear vibration and the screen is showing this (see image). this was exactly the last thing i saw before it stopped booting up.
based on the image, can someone deduce what the issue could be?
p.s. haven't attempted boot it up
