UPDATE can no longer flash Alterbative? - HTC One X

I now cannot flash via flashboot and have no recovery.
Is there an alternative way to flash a recovery.img (Ican still see phone via fastboot devices)
Thanks

First of all stop making new threads everytime !
See now i would like to give help but i have to read what....3 threads !
Seems a hardware issue/damaged partition layout. None solvable like this .... can't flash = a no go

Sorry, Ill stop posting new threads.
I posted new threads because each time I thought Id solved the problem.
How can I repartition then, if not my flash.
PS for some reason it appears I can flash in the morning after leaving phone overnight.
So maybe I can re-partition in the morning?
Fish

Keep trying, if it doesn't work you need to get it repaired at a repair shop/HTC .....not much else you can do
And as additional info, you can always use the existing thread you created. Once replied in there it will be back on top of the list.

Format everything
Ill try to reflash clockwork when my fastboot works.
From there ther is an option to format/ mount etc.
If i want to set everything to fully formated can i safely format everything in that menu.I was worried about formatting system, data etc. and then re-install recovey, rom and GAPPS?
I was worried if I formatted everything I might npot even get boot loader.
I have no data on the phone to worry about
And also there is an option to partition I think, can I use that, ?
Im guessing sd card partition is corrupt or hardware error.
Or can i format via windows?
Thanks

OK will do.
Incidentally, took phone apart, cleaned mobo and re soldered a few dry joints. phone has now rebooted and working with sentnal rom V5, but now no keyboard.
Installed lame?APK, keyboard and installs but does not work. unfortunately ASOP keyboard has stopped.
How do I get keyboard?
I still will install your recovery etc. as I am not certain of stability.
Thanks

Stuck on boot screen...

Sooo, I just tried flashing Damage Control 3.5 a few hours ago and since then my phone has been absolutely horrid to me. I tried flashing the PC36IMG.ZIP but it wont let me for some odd reason. I've tried flashing different roms (as long as different radios). All to no avail, the only things I can access is the main recovery screen and the Clockwork recovery screen.
If anyone can help me out here so I don't have to pay the $100.00 claim to get a new phone I will gladly donate to XDA for all they've done thus far.

Shoot, well I guess the best I can do is try to reformat my card and go from there. I'll report back with my findings.
I think i can help, but i might be a bit off since there not enough info on the post.
Anyhow, you will have to:
1) Download a new Image (stock?): ex. qap.la/~netarchy/BurntDroid-1.0-Froyoized-netarchy-signed.zip
2) Doanload a stock kernel: qap.la/~netarchy/netarchy-toastmod-4.0.3a-signed.zip
3) push both images to your /sdcard/
3.1) adb pus file BurntDroid-1.0-Froyoized-netarchy-signed.zip /sdcard/
3.2) adb push netarchy-toastmod-4.0.3a-signed.zip /sdcard/
4) reboot your phone in recovery mode (hold volume down, click power)
5) wipe data/factory
6) whipe cache
7) advanced -> wipe dalvilik
8) Install zip from sdcard
9) choose zip from sdcard: (you should see the BurntDroid-1.0-Froyoized-netarchy-signed.zip there, choose that one, and say yes whe asked)
10) repete number 9 with netarchy-toastmod-4.0.3a-signed.zip
11) now choose +++++
This should get you to a working phone. You will have root and a decent kernel.
I ope this helps.

This is what happens to me when I try to install a rom/kernel. It will work its process and do the "Writing Boot" and "Deleting Files." But once it gets to "copying files," the loading bar will slowly move to 1/4 of the way full, and once it reaches that point it will say Istallation Completed. Does this information give anymore details for help?
Edit: I did try that method, And the same thing happened.

That was the first thing I tried doing. It would do the "Checking MD5 sum..." and then it would just give me an error. I just formatted the sd card (after copying everything to my computer) so im going to transfer my backups back to the SD and see if that does anything.

Does the radio really matter though? I mean, I have a feeling that even if I do flash the new radios that I'm still going to be stuck doing what I'm doing now.
This is exactly what it says when I try to do a restore:
Checking MD5 sums...
Erasing boot before restore...
Restoring boot image...
Error while flashing boot image!

I download them from here, then I set my phone as the "Disk Drive." Or USB Storage when using CM. Move the roms to my phone, then reboot into recovery and flash from there.
Update:
Just tried flashing a different firmware using the old way. With the recovery-windows.bat method.... Seems to still be freezing on boot though. :/
ive seemed to have fixed it. i wiped phone like 10 times. reformatted sd card, installed the rom called virus. it went to bootloop. so i let it do its thing. when i woke up today, it was perfect!

Sounds good man! I'll try that too and see if it works.
Update: Now it's not even turning on and when I plug it in, the orange light just flashes. I know the battery isn't dead because I had it plugged in all day. So, I guess that means I can take it to a sprint store tomorrow and have them be just as confused as I am about the situation, but without having them know that the phone was rooted? Wish me luck!
P.S. Maybe I'll be upgraded from a Nova to an Epson screen? Wishful thinking....

haha yea maybe! that'd be nice, but im sure they would know if you rooted. even if you did, some employees root their phone as well, or at least these 2 dudes at the shop i go to have, so they help me out when i cant get answers here, which, so many people do, thats why i try to keep in contact with certain people on ehre via skype(branden.allert) or aim(backongb561)
I wen't into the Sprint store today in town... The lady was absolutely no help at all. Plus they didnt have any EVO's in stock. So I just decided to screw it and file it as a claim under insurance. I should be getting a replacement in 5-7 days. Hopefully I wont have the screen separated, light leaked, white spot in the lower right of the (NOVA) screen in this next one.

Have u factory reset cleared cache and also cleared dalvik?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Alright..
Firstly, reboot into recovery and wipe full data & the dalvik cache.
Second, flash a rom to which your device fulfills all requirements (eg. not D2EXT, D++)
Third, restart your device after installing the ROM.
Fourth, WAIT!!!!! if it doesnt boot after like 15 minutes then something has gone wrong somewhere.
Just to make things easy to start with, you should try using a rom that doesn't require an ext2/3/4 partition and just uses fat. Unless you are confident you can do that correctly.

Seriously, you should do a little reading tutirials and guides on flashing.
You cannot flash a ROM with a different base on top of another - that's why the bootloops. (E.g. Flashing DHDport on top of Stock Rooted or GB on FROYO won't work without wiping).
Secondly, it is wiped it - ergo FORMATTED it, the ext partition is still there.

Listen, everybody's here to help each other. It's what we android users do.
A little of "Please", and "thank you very much", "you guys are great"... goes a long way...
As for the radio, the easiest would have been, to upgrade your stock system to Froyo 2.29 before running the ROM.
Stock, before a custom ROM. This would probably avoid any radio problems.
If your phone is working and you have no issues, then you shouldn't worry about it.
Some people, get a little angry, when the same problem happens over and over again, and there are posts to cover these problems.
But, I think most of us, will jump right in, and give a hand to those who ask politely. And give a big thanks, when the issue is fixed.
Oh, and all ROMs are not created to work with Desire...

[Q] Fail to flash any rom in my Note 2 sgh i317

Hello guys,
It's my first question to the forum. I hope you can give me a clue resolve this problem.
I bought a Note 2 SGH i317 some days ago.
It was my first root but with your trheads everything was ok (for some days).
I tried JediX, Custom Rom 4.2.5 and some other.
But after tried some custom roms, I noted that when I flash any rom the phone stucks on Samsung Galaxy Note II screen and I have to pull out the battery to turn off the phone.
I tried with many others roms and all did the same.
Later I realized that the flash process was very fast compared to the first ones, so I guess the flash proccess fails in some instance.
I returned to stock rom and root it again with same results.
I tried with CVM and TWRP.
I can restore some nandroid backups to get the phone working, but can't flash any rom now!
Do you have any suggestion?
Thanks in advance.

If flashing stock rom doesn't help, your internal memory might be corrupted, and might need to format it through recovery.
It's not a sure thing but it's another option to troubleshoot your problem. If you're gonna try that, make sure to backup all your stuff

It's hard to say what made it corrupt (if at all, remember, this is only an assumption). Could've been an app that caused it, could've been flashing a custom rom, and something went wrong during the flashing process.
If you're using twrp (which i highly suggest you do), in the 'wipe' menu there's an option to wipe internal sd. DON'T FORGET! before you do this make a nandroid backup and keep that backup on your external sd, or on your computer. Also, backup all your stuff, like pictures, music, etc.

The only thanks you could give is just hitting the thanks button on my answers to you. But you don't really have to, it's entirely up to you. If you think my responses are helpful to you, then by all means ... In order to close a thread you could ask a moderator to do so. I'm not sure you're obligated to do so.
Btw, if cwm gives you an md5 error, could be most likely because you changed the name cwm has originally assigned to that backup. To solve this, just change it to what it was. If you didn't change the backup name, you could try going into advanced menu in cwm and toggle signature check to disable

When you say you can't access the SD card, do you mean when you hook your phone up to the computer? Even when you go into TWRP mounts and storage and press mount USB storage? If you can't do that you are going to have to Odin flash the stock firmware with your PC.

[Q] GNex sdcard unwritable?

Hi.
I have problem with my Galaxy Nexus GSM. It seems, that my phone doesnt acept any new data anymore...
What I did to brake my phone?
1. I've installed Clockwork Mod Recovery v6.0.4.3 and custom rom - CM11 with gapps
2. My device started to have reboot loop problem (reboots in 2 minutes after booting Android desktop)
3. I decided to go back to stock 4.3
4. I performed Factory reset using recovery
5. I recovered my nandroid backup
6. The telephone rebooted and...nothing happened. I was still on CM11 with reboot loop error.
What I tried to do to fix it?
1. fresh install of CM11 + gaps using recovery
2. going back to factory rom using stock google rom and instructions provided by google
3. ODIN factory rom instalation
All fix procedures went without errors.
And? And after reboot i am still on CM11 with reboot error...
I tried to change my recovery, but after adb install of new recovery and reboot... I can still see my old recovery.
I don't know what to do. It seems to me, that every operation I make to write something new to my GNex is useless. It allways goes back to my CM11 with error after reboot.
I don't know what to do next. Is there a way to low level format of sdcard?
Try to lock and re unlock your bootloader. Backup your data first though. If your bootloader is still unlocked after you locked it and all tour data is still there then its probably a fried emmc..

Thanks for reply. I locked the bootloader with "fastboot oem lock" command, then reboot. My bootloader indicates that is still...unlocked
Fried sdcard? how? why? is KitKat a "FireKat"? . Ok, so i gues there is nothing I can do...
But, is there a way to repartition sdcard? any commands to do that?

emmc != sdcard!
Which we really dont have a sdcard, just space allotted for personal storage in /data/media.
emmc is what system, boot, recovery etc is on. And on rare occasions it does get fried. If that is the case here, I dont know that it can be fixed.

Aww that sucks man. I feel you
Maybe you can get your hands on a second hand? They are here (in the netherlands) for about €150-€200.

I don't know... I have some Galaxy Nexus accessories, so it would be nice to continue Nexus usage. Our maybe it's time to get something new?
I think my Nexus died because of coincidence. I had some charging problems a week ago, so maybe my software experiments pushed a damaged hardware to its' limits? It was a quite good smartphone to use everyday. Equipped with Seidio extended 3500mAh battery it was a real good piece of plastic .
