Have u factory reset cleared cache and also cleared dalvik?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Alright..
Firstly, reboot into recovery and wipe full data & the dalvik cache.
Second, flash a rom to which your device fulfills all requirements (eg. not D2EXT, D++)
Third, restart your device after installing the ROM.
Fourth, WAIT!!!!! if it doesnt boot after like 15 minutes then something has gone wrong somewhere.
Just to make things easy to start with, you should try using a rom that doesn't require an ext2/3/4 partition and just uses fat. Unless you are confident you can do that correctly.

thanks all ,after wipe partition and wipe data factory , worked with me.
this wipe partion deleted my ext partition also?

Seriously, you should do a little reading tutirials and guides on flashing.
You cannot flash a ROM with a different base on top of another - that's why the bootloops. (E.g. Flashing DHDport on top of Stock Rooted or GB on FROYO won't work without wiping).
Secondly, it is wiped it - ergo FORMATTED it, the ext partition is still there.

I understand that i have to see which radio can work with?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Listen, everybody's here to help each other. It's what we android users do.
A little of "Please", and "thank you very much", "you guys are great"... goes a long way...
As for the radio, the easiest would have been, to upgrade your stock system to Froyo 2.29 before running the ROM.
Stock, before a custom ROM. This would probably avoid any radio problems.
If your phone is working and you have no issues, then you shouldn't worry about it.
Some people, get a little angry, when the same problem happens over and over again, and there are posts to cover these problems.
But, I think most of us, will jump right in, and give a hand to those who ask politely. And give a big thanks, when the issue is fixed.
Oh, and all ROMs are not created to work with Desire...

Okay, so after rooting my G2 I decided to flash this rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1012763
Now after I used Rom Manager, I checked the back up etc.
After it backuped it installed the new Rom, at the moment I am at the HTC screen and it keeps rebooting not sure what it's doing exactly.
Shows HTC screen, after a few mins, it turns black plays the HTC sound and shows the HTC splash page again.
What to do?
Boot into recovery and wipe cache/data.

And if that doesent work try to flash the rom again.
I ran the adb command to go into recovery, then restored it from a back up I made.
Going to try another ROM, thanks guys!
Does anyone have MSN?
I flashed cyanogen, but it has the same issue, the splash screen comes up then dissapers and the cynaogen screen comes back again.
What to do? Is there something wrong with my phone?
You didn't have to restore your backup.
If you had wiped the /cache and /data partitions, everything would have been fine. There is nothing wrong with with your phone.

This may be a ROM manager that produce this boot loops, Skip rommanger . Boot into recovery -power-wolume down . Navigate to recovery . Chose wipe data/ factory reset. Then wipe cache and /data partitions, flash cm7 and gapps.
First off let your phone sit for 20 minutes after installing a new rom. The first boot takes a good long time. If after 20 min it doesnt start then come post about it. Make sure you post exactly what screen comes up when it reboots ect.

Have a side question about overclocking, how do I do it and what's the recommended amount?
Depending on the ROM's install a kernel
You have a lot of options. It's not necessary but if you still want to first install the app 'setcpu' or 'cputuner' and then download a kernel and flash it the same way that you flashed the ROM's. Best of luck!
Which rom did you end up flashing? A lot of them come overclocked. As the above person posted you will need one of those apps anyway.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
I used the one on the main post, seems that SetCPU is not free.
Downloading CPUTuner..
With only reading the heading of that rom i would assume there is no OC built in as it is untouched. You will need to flash a kernel for sure to OC. I cant recomend any for that rom as i have never used it.

If you're still using the ROM in your OP, I don't think there are over-clockable Sense Gingerbread kernels yet.
i find that the nightly build is cool and is awesome. the problem is when i use system panel task manager, the phone reboots. i dont know why and its more laggy than the cm7 mod please tell me its me doing something wrong not my phone's or the mod's fault.
and it svery irritating that it keeps hanging. please someone help me with the nightly mod thing i want to use.
Go for nightly#205. And do a full wipe including data, cache, dalvic cache, and perform a factory resetting from cwm before you flash the nightly. Also use latest buzz kernal so that you can overclock your phone.

Lol you may have used beta 4 script, try beta 3, need to use atleast ext3 as your secondary partition. Try it with latest original cwm recovery. 5.xxx to partition. Do a clean install after partition.
And a personal suggestion. S2e app in market is good than dta2sd, though it have not much functions, but what it have, it does its best. I use it.

Dude, explore options in cwm, don't do formatting boot, system, data, unless you learn what it does.
Options may vary from version to versions of cwm. So you have to say which cwm version you have. Mine is latest 5.xxx.
In it, data- factory format( user data or wipe user data, which ever it is called) is in main menu. And dalvic cache wipe is in advanced menu.
Lol you must carefully read topic named" complete wildfire index, then ask doubts, after all you can learn new things from every topic.
Your kernal will be in that topic. Check it out.

now i got another problem. my wildfire will hang every now and then and i have to pluck out the battery and switch it back on. its very irritating and having to keep doing that will kill my bat very quickly so could anyone tell me any solutions?
To solve your problem, you must say. Your current configuration, rom, kernal, radio, tweeks, and what have you done just before you got the error

well i am using the cm7 nightly build #205. kernel is buzz-kernel-2.6.35. i just downloaded some apps that were in my phone when i was using cm7 stable. and there wasnt a problem. do i have to upgrade to latest build and kernel? oh and just a question. if i want to upgrade from #205 to #208, do i have have to like wipe my data and cache and dalvik cache? i wouldnt wanna redownload and change everythin again
You can install the nightlies on top of one another without wiping anything, sometimes it seems better to wipe the cache to me but not always necessary, leave data alone.
Word of warning though, always make a nandroid backup before installing a new rom, although they're stable they are still called experimental for a reason, and sometimes (not very often) things can still go wrong.

i wiped both the dalvik and partition cache and installed the #208 nightly build and the latest kernel but then the phone would just restart automatically. do i have to wipe data as well?
Yes do a "Wipe Data / Factory Reset" in Clockworkmod if it is giving you issues. Then try a fresh install and check again for instability.
Note - Performing a Wipe Data / Factory Reset will erase all data (Except SD Card)
well i not sure but i think the problem still occurs.. yes it does. i wiped data, cache and dalvik cache, did a install using cwm and it still reboots WHAT TO DO NOW

Can someone help me? ( Itried already in the rom Thread)?

wifi n from snq is just update of his kernel... you need to flash kernel first...
wipe dalvik and cache...
you could not find it in recovery or whole sdcard did not mount?

No need to wipe cache and dalvik. Kernels can be installed without wiping anything ! Just install the zip through recovery and all is fine !

Hi guys.
I have some question, mostly out of interest really that may help me understand flashing etal better.
When in CWM recovery, if I want to flash a new ROM, I use a fullwipe.zip that I found on this site, to, well, wipe the phone
The last thing wipe.zip says is make sure you install a new ROM.
Now, as I have, afaik, performed a full wipe, if I were to reboot after the wipe and before flashing a new ROM, would I brick the phone, or would it just boot into bootloader etc...
Would CWM recovery still be present on the phone after the wipe is it just running in ram or something?
I also have a load of other questions. But they can wait.
Cheers dudes.
Greg.

I've never done this, so I'm curious to know what happens exactly.
But as far as i'm aware if you were to boot the phone without a rom installed, you would just get a blank screen or maybe the splash screen. Recovery stays installed, which is good news because you need to get back there to install a rom or the phone won't work. So to do that you would have to plug the phone in and use adb to get back to recovery with "adb reboot recovery" or if that doesn't work, pull the battery, hold vol down + power to get to bootloader and then get to recovery that way to install a rom.
If you run the phone without os you get stuck in a bootloop i think. After that not sure what happeness. It's always easier to install 4EXT recovery, dowload any ROM you like from here and flash through 4EXT. No need for any full wipe scripts since a full wipe is format data/system/cache, erase dalvik which is very simple in 4EXT.

answer on your question:
CWM still works, even if you flashed a fullwipe or "superwipe".
But, i just want you to know, that you get other problems if you tried to unlocked your bootloader via htcdev, within flashin new roms.
Lol i dont get it,you wiped her,why would you want to blast off into oblivion
Interesting though, rather start picking my rom out?
Theres so much choice now
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
If you do that you will be stuck in boot loop as no OS is installed and yes you will still have CWM available. To get out of the boot loop just remove the battery. And then just press vol down and power to get into hboot and then you can get into recovery from there.

Hey dude. It was purely out of interest.
I was thinking about this after i flashed the LC ICS ROM.
I used CWM to full wipe and flash the new rom zip, but it seemed to install very quickly.
So quickly in fact I thought that it couldn't have installed correctly.
I didn't want to reboot incase the rom hadn't taken and I bricked my DHD so I ended up restoring a nandroid backup I'd made before wiping the phone.
But if CWM recovery would remain on the phone even after a wipe, then I can take the gamble that it had installed.
Cheers for your answers dudes.

Lords ICS does install pretty fast. But it just works... so there's little/no risk there. I try to always do a full wipe before installing but lately with his builds, I've only been wiping dalvik and cache and updating with the newest build. If something doesn't work, then I wipe and see if I get the same behavior with a full wipe. Multiple Nandroid backup points let me restore to whatever point in time that I want. It's a great approach.
Best of luck and have fun!

Runs well, the otly first poopy impression I have is the pictures from the camera!
Any suggestion on a 3rd party Camera app?

I've found better luck with Pudding Camera and Camera 360. For me, the camera is the only hit or miss item atm. Folks have been posting ideas to get it working right, such as disabling the flash or putting it in burst mode with on 1 photos set. Also try clearing the data from the app too. Peruse the development thread... There's a lot of camera tweaks being offered here and there.
Another note, video is also problematic in the rom too... Really, so long as I can scan barcodes using amazon, I can get by otherwise. I look forward to your thoughts as you dig in... More updates are coming daily from Lord!

I flashed Sandvold's ICS 0.8.1 yesterday, but after reading a few threads today I saw that it's better to do the custom install instead of the typical one. I did a nandroid and decided to simply flash the rom again without clearing anything.
It seems fine so far, but I'm wondering if this can lead to any problems?
Also, do I need to reinstall a2sd after re-flashing?
I think that if you downgrade from ics to gb than you need to make a full wipe but if you upgrade than I think it's ok

If you are with the exact same rom then a wipe shouldn't be needed and a2sd should stay if you don't wipe.
Try it and if it doesn't work do a full wipe I've never seen anyone say you'll break your phone if you don't wipe. Someone on Sandvold's thread recommended app extractor from play store as an easy way to restore after a full wipe. Didn't work for me but I only tried it once so you could check that out. It just restores everything from your nandroid
