Ascend P6 is one of the most beautiful phones on the market. Unfortunately, in the upper part resembles the iPhone. The top and bottom do not play with each other that does not look too good. Is such a solution would not have been nicer?

I have purchased p6 today. I must say that im a bit disappointed .
Audio performance is poor, the phone heats up easily while running heavy task and ui is a little bit laggy.
I m disappointed because on papper this phone is relatively good.
I hope upgrading the firmware will fixed those issues ?

Yes sir
To get back to the original question, I think the design of the P6 is really stylish. Everyone I know has asked what it is and has been astounded it is not an expensive high end offering from what they call major players, eg, Apple, Samsung and HTC.
The top flows beautifully to the bottom where it curves round back to the top. What is not to like?:good:

You know what ? Ill tell u , I have 5 diff. smartphones Android and one iphone 5 .. all those android phones is just same .. it is like u have laptop with same windows... no matter what brand u have u doing exactly same on every device.. Am one of those who like design so AM NOT BOTHERED if that device is faster or better or has more ram , and that crap.. it is childish.. P6 is nice and slim phone that is why i replaced it with HTC One .. I sold it for 300 and purchased P6 for 150 .. very nice ..

Once I talked to a G615 user that has the same SoC inside it and he told me that when he turned the 2D hardware acceleration the phone just fly away, it's realy faster. To test he openned 24 tabs on the browser and the phone didn't crashed once, said it got slower but no crashes or lags. He also played a mid range game and it worked flawlessly. Maybe you have the same option in you settings menu, turn it of and see what happens.

I ll give feedback when back home.
Compared to my HTC desire X the sound is very bad, at least the headphone. I thought upgrading firmware will help so i upgraded to b116 but that didn t help.
I read somewhere in this forum that deleting system/etc/audio/codec-folder will help but im a bit pessimisrtic about this method.
I havn t tried camera yet.

Deleting audio codec folder didnt work for me, but if youre rooted, go with root explorer etc. to /cust/ folder, and find your carriers folder. If your carrier is not listed, go to /cust/channel/ and select your region. Find local.prop file, its inside "prop" folder. If there is no prop folder or local.prop file, i think your volume is best possible. Edit local prop like this:
Insert hashtag (#) in front of
ro.config.hw.security_volume=?
so it should be
#ro.config.hw.security_volume=?
AND do the same for
ro.config.ce_authenticate=1
This is very easy method, and worked for me. If this doesnt work, do that for every local.prop you find from /cust/ folder, some of them does not have this string, leave them alone. You can also delete codec folder if this doesnt work, it doesnt make you any troubles.

Those original headphones are useless , I m using AKG k 518 DJ which is relatively good but i get way better and louder sound on my Desire x than the P6 right now.
Hope the sound on P6 will be as good when the audio issue is fixed.
I got P6 on saturday so i'm familiarizing with it.

Previously phone owned was an Xperia S
Materials:
First impression is phone's solidity. Almost impossible to scratch, it has a rubber coating that protects it from dust, water and shock. I hope to test this last feature as late as possible: D
Hardware:
Almost identical to Xperia S. Xperia Acro Hd got a tv tuner, IR, micro sd slot and it's ip57 certified. One meter water/30 minutes
Software:
It 'was the real surprise. II found it really smooth. Even the Android Gallery. The software provided by DoCoMo is extremely responsive and pleasant to use. With both default launchers.
Now is still running Android 2.3.7. A new update to the 4.0.x version is scheduled for July.
Features:
Really rich range of accessories included in the packaging. Beyond the dock through which you can charge the phone, there are also in-ear headphones and charger EP800. No hdmi cable*and obviously no SmartTags

could you please tell me how much you have paid for that and also is that have Clear Stereo, Clear bass and Clear 3D sourround sound as xperia S?
because when i compared specs. of XS and Acro S , Acro S do not have these three things even ION do not have.
also white paper do not mention for Acro s?
The battery i saw that is 1900 Mah. I really hope it's the same size with Xperia S. I would be the first one to buy a bigger battery.

i thought this was on ICS but tell..... is camera same like SXS or it has much noise same as SXS?

i got this phone as well, same bootloader status, unlock allowed : a resounding Nope!
tried SE Flashtool 8.6 and tagged it as Ion (same specs/same chips and proc, except for the screen size)...it will not even be rooted.
i hope to see a work around (and a few developments too, ehrm, like a vanilla ROM maybe)on this dilemma soon.
anyhow, thanks for sharing the link for the .ftf... sweeet!
Dear Peppoid,
thanks for the link to the ftf file. I got my acro so-03D HD 2 weeks ago from Japan which was unlocked by DOCOMO. Somehow, the non-english icons started to get better of me and I flashed it using ROM for Xperia S to get a complete english menus..I got the OS alright but since then the phone wont charge and IMEI will not show up, no radio signal as well. While putting on charge, the LED glows red but the phone doesnt seem to charge. The battery icon on status bar shows like a rectangle(the outline of battery icon with no colours/flash indicator to show its charging or at what level the charge is). When I insert the SIM, I get a pop up saying no SIM recognized.
I am hoping with your helpful post, I should be able to get the phone back to normal. I do have the original IMEI number on the box in case I need some additional help. I will download the ftf file later tonight and post the results.
Many thanks for your hardwork
Regards

I had once downloaded a version 0.6.9.1 by "Bin4ry & Androxyde" which shows ARCO-HD SO-03D in the drop down and used it to flash my SO-03D.

Hi,
I am attaching the photos of the back of SO-03D. I managed to click open the back of it with little struggle. Here you go. The battery is 1840MAh 6.9Wh.
I did not have any good luck flashing the phone with the docomo firmware. Also attached is the error log(partially). I dont know if someone can help me with that. if yes, please do post your comments.
My phone is under warranty so I have masked some serial numbers in the photos.
If nothing works out, ill be shipping it back to DOCOMO for a replacement. Any suggestions so that they dont find out the mess teh phone is in?

i'd return it if you can. Looks like its excess light coming from a reflection of the lcd. It looks like my old bionic did when I didn't have enough glue between the class and the case which sets it to the screen. Maybe that could be the issue?

I did went to the service centre, they didnt do anything when i first went there.
They said that there's no replacement parts or another set for me to do an exchange.
So they said that they will do a one for one exchange for me when they have a set.
But the customer service is crap and im not using htc anymore though.
I have the exact same thing on my Verizon m8. I decided not to risk returning it for a potential refurbished phone and decided to live with it. Unfortunately it makes my screen look like crap when dark colors are on the screen because there is like a massive crease on the sides of my screen. If I tap in a certain area on my phone I get a similar effect to applying pressure on a TV monitor.

Hey there, Hi. So, you're locked onto not returning the device for a new one, right ? Do they give you refurbished handsets when you return them in the US ? Or may be you get a refurbished one sometimes ?

It's luck of the draw really. Most times you'll vet a refurbished model and I wasn't willing to risk it with one of those. The screen problem is only really minor, I can live with it

Thanks for the reply. Does yours look the same as the picture shown in this thread ? With that light leaking from the top ? That image shows leaking all over the top part of the display. Does yours do the same ? I guess you must have sent your M8 for a repair, right ?

Very similar yes, except on the right side of the screen not top/bottom. There are not as many white lines either, its only a couple prominent ones. And no, I did not send it for repair I decided to keep my phone. Didn't feel like going through all the trouble although I regret it at this point.

But ultimately [ONLY] HTC devices last for a long time compared to others OEM's. My wildfire is up and running except for the outdated software. The battery I guess holds only (70-80) % of the charge. Lol, my GPU is faster than its CPU ! Its on its way to 4th Anniversary ! :good:

Yes, I have the same issue. I have like 3 big and 2 small lights leaking from the right side of the display. The big ones are like 1/2 cm long. Can you upload a snap with 100% brightness and power saver turned off on a black background/image ? I don't have any cameras right now to take snaps and upload them. I'll do it in 2 days. Can you please do it ? Thanks in advance :good:

This is the best I could get, it was a quick shot doesn't do complete justice to the problem but you can faintly see one mark

Hey guys, I faintly remember reading somewhere that developers were able to get the earpiece on the Nexus 5 to work as a speaker as long as the phone was rooted. So my question is, are there any developers that're working on modifying the top earpiece on the 5x to work as a second speaker (possibly for stereo sounds)? I know that if that were to happen, the top "speaker" probably wouldn't be as loud as the actual speaker on the bottom, but I'm excited for this to happen (hopefully) soon because coming from a Nexus 6, the single speaker on the Nexus 5X is a bit disappointing. Anyways, thanks all!
Some developer also did the exact same thing in one plus one...imagine that mod combined with v4android.. Awesomeness

Bump as this will be interesting, if and when a dev manages it
I'm sure this will happen, just need to wait for sources [emoji14]
@sshafranko is the only person that can perform that magic! He is a great guy. If someone asks him nicely I am sure he would try his best to help
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-note5/themes-apps/mod-tmon5surroud-sound-t3187359
Does he work on nexus devices as well or is it just Samsung? I might ask him but I'm always scared to ask devs to see if they can do this or that because they have other things to do then to cater to my wants.
Awesome mod! Thanks for the link and I'll be sure to follow!

Thanks stu and franko. You got it to work fast! Also, it's a bit ironic that I didn't know how to send you the mixer files considering I'm a CS major and had just come back from my computer lab.
All I did was check a box in root explorer and hit send. Please only send your appreciation to SShafranko. He really deserves it!
Anyone know if the earpiece speaker is the same size/quality/wattage as the lower main speaker? Curious about long term usage of a mod like this.

Is your mod available? I used it briefly in my n5 but didn't have it long enough to see if the speaker held up. I'm glad to hear you haven't had any issues tho! I'm eaker to try it out when I can. Always a fan of your stuff.

Hey guys,
I'm about to buy a one plus 3 from a guy which is selling it extremely cheap and I would like to ask you guys, in what ways I could check if the device is real and not just a replica and also if It's not stolen. I will meet with the guy today so I would appreciate everything you tell me test on the device before making the purchase. I already asked him for the picture of the invoice.. now I'm waiting for his reply.
BTW this is the picture he sent me of the device:

when you meet, ask to plug it in to a outlet, if it dashcharges, its real.
or
open bootloader by turning off phone and press volume up+power, it should be named someting ms8996 or something like that.

I saw you comment and first off I'd like to say its already a chinese branded phone and very modest company, not your usual suspects for making "Phoney." (pun intended) Also I do not own the phone yet, but since you're cautious I'll still help you out.
When I buy phones from untrusted/unknown parties I always meet them in very open public places and look them in the eye when they're talking, looking for signs of anxiety or hesitation.
Now onto the phone itself:
pop the sim tray out make sure there are 2 slots (real oneplus 3 has 2 slots). okay
Go to settings> about phone check the imei with this: https://swappa.com/esn (its free and trusted site)
pop one of my sim cards in and make a phone call. go back to settings> about phone and check the baseband, model number, build number etc. and make sure they are correct/up to date.
go to the camera (usually the stock app) and I test photos and videos.
turn on bluetooth and make sure it searches for my headset which i have on at the time.
Open a web browser and see how fast the app opens and open multiple tabs and different websites in each.
For a phone like this I would feel the quality of the build because most knock-offs just don't feel like "real"
and LAST but not LEAST go to settings> security and check the fingerprint sensor, (how fast it esponds, if it responds at all, nothing is for sure but chances are very slim that a knock-off company is putting a high quality fingerprint system in a knock-off phone. I do all of this while talking to him/her about how the yankees are really sucking this year, and telling them my fantasy football team is better than theirs by a long shot.
I sure hope this helps :fingers-crossed:
Check the Android version. If it says Nougat, then it is obviously a fake one.
Thank you! Isn't there an app that can check if the phone is real? Like all the internals and camera module? I heard there's one with the name similar to AIDA..
Also, could anyone post the latest settings page where I can see the latest build/baseband and so on, please?
Thank you all

You could easily get 300 euro for OP3 so for me the real question is (and it should be your question as well) Why would the seller throw away 150 euro? Why would anybody do that? Nobody would unless something is wrong.

Looks real. Exactly like mine did whwn I got it. But what's to say that's what you will receive. Especially at half price.
Buy using a reputed site and pay using a known payment method.
That way if you do get cheated will have some way to get your money back.

If you can get internet... Download the Geekbench 3 from playstore and run a test and you should get around 2250+ singlecore score and 5400+ multicore score (If you can only download geekbench 4 then score is around 1700 for single and 4000 multicore)

Hiya folks. I've had Xperia phones since 2010 and I'm thinking of replacing my broken Z3c with an XA1. However I really don't want to be tied into a 2 year contract for a handset that's unsupported.
So I was just wondering..I know it's early days..but is anybody else thinking of getting one of these?
If you're browsing this forum and considering a purchase, reply and let me know! :good:

I'm really curious with this phone. Instead of mediatek processor, do you ever experience any lag/error during multitasking? And I wonder how long this 2.300 ma power battery can stand for a day. Maybe you can share your screen on time with list of applications installed.

Hello, could you confirm one exciting feature of android 7 (atleast for me) that it works on this phone software.
As of Android 7.0 phone can read 2G/3G/LTE frequency without ROOT. Easiest way is to install app Cellmapper(mapping cell towers to map) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cellmapper.net.cellmapper
Could anyone run this app(enable "Use new Android 4.2 Cell ID API" in settings) and post screenshot while connected to LTE only or 3G when 4G not available(no wifi)? Also, maybe send debug report from settings menu to developer([email protected]) with screenshot.
Thank you

Well, I've got this phone now. Got it this afternoon. Initial impressions are good. Yes it's not a powerhouse but, for a mid range device, it's really not bad.
Hopefully I can get it rooted soon then I can mod the hell out of it.

I've had it less than a day so I can't really comment. But I haven't noticed any significant battery issues so far. I've come from the Z3 Compact and this seems to do everything I need it to do at the moment. The sound is good, picture quality is decent (yes, it's not full HD or whatever but it's a phone..if I really need amazing picture quality on my videos I'll use my TV) and the battery seems okay.
Like everything, it depends what you're using it for. If you spend your whole day playing Pokémon Go at full brightness while listening to music, your battery is going to be annihilated..
