I look on ebay and I found this 3000mah battery compliant with the seller according nexus 5 but the question is, is it really consistent?,the same dimensions or?
I saw this info on the frandroid french forum and a member has ordered this battery to test

The battery has part number LG BL-T7. This is the battery that is in the G2 i believe. Also it has already been confirmed the G2 battery is not the same dimensions so it will not fit our N5's.

Yep, didn't notice the BL-T7 before you pointed it out. That said the issue with the T7 was the stepped design that made it thicker. This one appears flat like the T9 that comes in the N5. So there is a possibility if the stepped design wasn't used that the battery could fit.
Personally I have no battery issues, the thing lasts all day for me and then some. However if I ever did have battery issues it would be nice to know there was something to upgrade to.
Seems like too much trouble for a phone that doesn't really have battery problems anyway.

Just because you and I and some others have no issues doesn't mean there's not legions of others who do. Like I said, I have no issues despite medium use, but I know many people that use their phones differently than I who need a beefier battery. Seeing as how it's not too terribly difficult to get to the battery, if there is a 3000mah one that works with our phones, why not let those people who need it use it?
You and I are most assuredly in the minority of people with no battery issues though, of that I'm certain.

But for those people who do need more battery, what's a 3000mah really going to do? Give you another couple hours? They'd be better served getting an external battery that would double their phone time and still only be the size of a tube of lipstick rather than tear their phones apart and void their warranties.

I don't disagree with you, but just playing with numbers, if the phone lasts 10 hours with the 2300, then it would be over 13 hours with a 3000, could be the difference between finding a charger mid day and not worrying about it. For some people the few hours is all the difference so why carry around a charger when you only need a few more?
Again though, I don't disagree with you, it's just that with the immense diversity in the way people use their phones, there isn't an easy solution to apply to all. For some the stock is good, for some a couple extra hours is what they need, and for others they'll need an external battery pack, just all depends on the user and their needs.

Better ask yourself why Google doesn't want you to change the battery.
For me a changeable battery is a must-have. I'm a heavy user, and this is my first Nexus device (since Samsung Galaxies und HTCs). Since it does not have a changeable battery I'm using now a anker power bank which charges the Nexus5 pretty fast. But this does it hurt my Nexus battery? What if my Nexus battery is crap? Looking at my old S3 und old HTC devices this happend to me.
Looks like the seller is under the impression that the nexus 5 32gb came with a 3000mah battery like some of the rumors suggested. My guess is that the seller isn't up to date with his information. I highly doubt this battery fits......but if someone wants to go for it be my guest and report back please :laugh::laugh::laugh::good::good:

This was my thoughts too.
As for the others saying 3000mah wouldn't be worth the swap should watch the iFixit teardown. It is stupid simple to do a 1 time swap. Also my battery generally last the whole day but i have had a few where i needed to plug it in to keep it form prematurely dying on me when i needed to use it. I am a guy that likes to have as little items as possible. I have 2 keys on my key ring, my car, and my house, no bling keychains. So carrying a external power bank is my last choice. While at work i just plug it in when needed, which has been never so far. But on weekends is where i find it falling short as i tend to use the phone more.

The problem is going to be, even if someone does make a battery that is compatible with the Nexus 5, its going to be some no name Chinese battery and it will never actually live up to the mah rating that its sold as. So even if they do sell a "3000 mah" battery for the Nexus 5, it would be amazing if the real rating of the battery was even 2500mah. Unless these no name battery companies have really upped their game in the last year or two, they almost never actually deliver the battery capacities that they list.
I personally wouldn't buy batteries from ebay. Too much risk for the amount of savings. Best case scenario is that it doesn't hold the stated charge, worse case is that it explodes on you like so many reports have indicated with people using no name third party accessories.

I've bought two different OEM batteries made in China for my netbook and both are poor quality despite the manufacturer's claims. Unfortunately I could not find any Japanese or Korean cells. I'm not going to gamble on putting an OEM battery inside my Nexus.
Lol. Larger capacity batteries, and in original size? There's no official manufacturer and can only be bought from ebay? Sounds like the various ones mentioned in the other flagship forums, like the S4. The story usually turns out the same. Someone baits desperate readers in, then when buyers get it, a bunch of them come back saying they don't see a difference despite advertised of being +25% larger, calling it a fraud. Buy only if you are susceptible to the placebo affect.

I'm curious about this as well. I missed having options for battery when I switched to iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4 (like with Treo and BlackBerry). As a mobile addict, I miss extended batteries (even though larger). I hope to have these choices for Atrix and hope the switch to Android doesn't serious piss me off.

Welcome, it may take a bit, bit I think you will be glad you switched.
Also, I am sure third party batteries will show up after a few weekes particularly if the phone is popular.
I'm sure Seidio will have a bunch of accessories out shortly.
I truly wouldn't mind one of the extended battery Juice Pack cases like I had for my iPhone. They added some bulk, but they nearly doubled my battery life on my iPhone, and they are simple to take off plus you don't have to pull out your phone's battery to do it.

With 1930mAh battery installed + laptop dock for 8 more hours running ability, I don't think I need an extra battery more.
I used it very heavily at work. Maybe got like 6hrs out of the oem battery.

jfyi the droid x BH6x battery is the same battery as ours so you can search for droid X bh6x battery. just make sure that its the slim model as in if its comes with a battery door the its too fat for our phone

Keep dreaming - mophie (manufacturer of the Juice Pack) steadfastly refuses to offer products for non i- whatevers. I've talked to them about it previously. Only way it'll happen is if Motorola or some other company makes one, and that hasn't happened.

I got spoiled by multiple gen-you-whine Motorola batteries for my StarTac. Between the main battery, the AAA tray to replace that, and the piggyback battery...who needed AC?
But I've also found an AWFUL LOT of battery suppliers are junk. Some mislabeled with bogus capacity, some that just don't hold a charge well, some that knock wood I never got, that catch fire.
I don't like gen-you-whine battery prices, especially for a new phone, but I'd be real careful about buying from other vendors right now. Or are there some other vendors you have found that can trust, by brand name?
Supposedly...with standard microUSB power plugs, we are supposed to just use a "powerpack" to recharge the phones on the fly. There's something to be said for doing it that way too, I guess.
My battery states 1880 mAH on the back of it...i thought it should be 1930 mAh
1880...1930...Could be a change in production with one manufacturer being slightly better or a slight change in the process. If you think of them both as "1905+-25mA" it really is just a small difference in battery life.
Maybe that's why some of the 1880's are being sold off cheap, they've been obsoleted?

There are loads of batteries out there. Just search for BH6X or BH-6X. Some sellers say they are for Atrix, others for Droid X. I believe its the same battery as the extended droid (I hope!). I just bought one from a US based seller for $21 on EBAY.
FWIW I pulled mine out, it is 1880mA. And that's a phone that shipped last week.
Just wanted to report in with my experience of these large capacity batteries.
I purchased 2 of them along with a generic external charger and they are far better than the stock ones.
Currently been going for 48 hours and still at 25%. I was struggling to get 12 hours out of the stock battery.
They seem like reasonable quality and for around 10AUD each they are decent value. They fit under the stock cover too which is a bonus.
Anyone else using these?

I bought 1 too, thinking it was only a stock battery or a cheaper one with beautiful wrapping and it surprised me. Last way much longer than usual one and yes it fit under stock cover.

Most likely it is fake. Recently I bought 'gold' battery for my old SE K800 from ebay. Printed capacity on label was almost double than original battery but in fact real capacity was half of original. So, returned to seller and lost shipping costs only.
Unfortunately physics is in full force for batteries: at the moment larger capacity can be achieved only by more or larger sells!!!
I'm actually MORE than happy with original Samsung 2000MAh battery. I would NEVER put a fake or low quality battery close to my face.

Well that confirms all these uprated batteries are in fact rubbish with the exception of the much larger 3500mah one and even that was nowhere near the stated 3500mah rating
The gold batteries from Ebay are all fake. Don't waste your time. Peel off the gold cover, under it, you'll find an under powered rating.this batteries have already been discussed at xda over and over with picture evidences to show they are fake. Go buy a jaguar for 10 bucks and tell me it's real.

I just bought one from ebay too. A gold 2450 mAh battery.
After I received it I put it in the mobile and battery snap from the market tells me the same remaining time as the stock 1650 mAh battery.. Then I peeled off the gold wrapper and underneath I found this inprint "HD504655AR 11K08NF1650".. 1650 ?? Strange coincidence ...
I opend a case with ebay requesting my money back because this looks like a fraud. I'll have to wait several days for it to close, but I will tell you how it ended...
I can only tell you that I should have read the posts here about the "gold" batteries.. Damn fakes!
Ok, so can anyone tell me how to identify a genuine Samsung battery?
My phone came with a battery that looks almost identical to eBay item 110825200405, except that mine says "Finished in Vietnam" and the recycle symbol is a bit different.
The supposedly genuine batteries on eBay (e.g. eBay item 140704498924) look quite different.
I got my phone from Orange/Partner in Israel and I'm wondering if they are using cheap aftermarket batteries to save money. Anyway, I want to buy a spare but I want to make sure that I'm getting my moneys worth for a battery that has the actual marked capacity and that will last.

I was about to post a big thing with a battery log that I kept for the first 5 charges of my new "Gold" battery along with how unimpressed I was and that it didnt seem any better than my stock 1250mAh. The new battery was supposedly 2450mAh. after reading the post 2 posts above mine I decided to remove the gold foil to look at the stamps on mine. I see nothing to indicate the mAh capacity on mine but after using it for a month I can say for sure that it is no better than my stock battery. I am not going to file it with ebay or anything but it sure seems like there are a lot of fakes out there. Mine came from Ghuang Dong china or something like that... lol. Anyway I only paid 6.99$ with no shipping and have a functional spare battery now so, oh well. Lesson learned. Figured I'd give my 2 cents.

After having done a bit of research, mah is a tricky thing to verify - can be done with a multimeter BUT there is a device called a battery-analyzer that does the trick. So these ppl that sell the possibly fraud batteries have tapped a great market: people (mostly) without the gear or know-how to check the quality of the goods!
regardless i needed a second battery so no loss for me. Now if it explodes or something I will report here first and I will not leave my 5star feedback for the "gold battery people" just yet

the 2000mah is a bit bigger (that is why it needs a new cover plate)
I have an 1800mah (also a bit bigger) but fits nicely in the phone.
Is there much difference between the two? Currently have the Ankher, thinking of getting the official extended battery.

Ive also searched through each of the threads, and found nothign specific to my query.
I was looking for someone who has used both of these batteries and can tell if there is a significant benfit in jumping to the official 2000mah from the 1900 Ankher.

Yea, moved on since my Symbian days & never been happier. Symbian was great in it's day but was spoiled by slow operating system & crap build quality. First got the Galaxy S & was delighted with it, so now moved up to the S2. Love this phone.

Ankers are not 1900mah but 1600 or 1650 (dont remember for sure but this is what's printed on the cell under the anker wrapping). It's also confrmed by the fact that anker battery lasts same as stock samsung battery. Based on that official 2000mah should last longer but I never had one to confirm from personal experience . Howevet I'm very happy with 2 anker batteries and desktop sharger that I bought for 1/3 of price of official 2000mah battety. 95% of times I swap batteries instead of charging phone. My case is hybrid silicone / hard plastic. I removed stock battery cover plate as case covers the back anyway. When the battery runs down it takes me 10 secs to swap it + with 3 batteries(4800mah) I have 2.5 times more power then extended bat.
Arrived this morning the extended battery. Firt impressions.
I think i prefer the thickness of the phone now. One plus point is that the Camera area now has some protection when itslaid on its back, Isn't being laid straight on the lens.
The heavyness of the phone. Not sure, oesn't seem that heavy to me, but then, i had a Sony Ericsson X10i before this, so its probably on parr with that on weight
Will fully charge it up, and see how i get on.

What about overheating with the samsung new battery? My phone overheats even on running basic HD games on the default battery. Shucks I know. I am thinking of getting hands on 2000 battery but I will not buy it if it has the same overheat problems because I've heard that Anker battery doesn't cause much overheat issues.

of course it gets warm you're running something processor/graphics intensive..... And if you think a cheap Anker battery is going to be better than an OEM battery you're a fool.

The anker batteries are high quality...Even when i run games such as 9mm or PES 2012 the phone never over-heats. And the surprising amount of extra battery life whilst keeping the same size is really amazing. So don't go talking about things that you know nothing about. And if your still going to fight me on this then maybe you should check some of the reviews on amazon about it then maybe you could come to your sense and not call it " a cheap Anker battery".
I mean no offence with this but I'm tired of people talking about something whilst not knowing anything about it.

I am using the 1900mAh Anker batteries and based on my experience they do last longer compared to the stock 1650mAh. And yes there is no phone heating issues at all.
but hey this is just me sharing my experience. you can call it cheap, because the price really is, $20 dollars for two of them. Cheap when it comes to price, but quality-wise then its worth every cent i paid for. Again this is just me. Maybe the gadget gurus know better if they have tried them

What about the Mugen battery?...didn't XDA recommend it?
With the current state of technology it'll be hard to get significantly more than 2500mAh to fit within the Note's battery size... So that one is a fake, like all the other Chinese knock offs that offer similar ratings...

im sorry but i have to correct you on this..i bought ANKER battery which is 2700..it does last longer than the original 2500 and it fits perfectly... it is made in china... and it perform better than the original samsung battery..so it is not always true that chinese batteries are fake and no good..and by the way can you go around your house and check all the products you have you should find most electronics you own made in china :laugh: ..and am from uk

You are trying to solve the every smartphone's problem of needing a daily charge in the completely wrong way.
Buy additional batteries (I have a total of 4 original ones) and separate desktop battery chargers (I have 2 original ones) and you will never again have "battery anxiety" nor will you have ever again to keep your smartphone chained down to a wallet charger since you will be charging each battery separately from the phone...
I have been doing this since MANY years on my last 6 smartphones and I am continually shocked to see how seemingly few people are taking advantage of this setup... Even "powerusers" on xda!
For me there is NO other way and I consider "smart"phones with integrated batteries as useless, worthless toys...

yeah i already bought an extra batteries ..i just bought the anker battery with 2700 and trust me it last longer than the original...and im going to buy another original as a spare as well... so in total i will be having 3 batteries

Are you also using desktop battery chargers? If the answer is yes I would really like to know why you want to mess around with non-original batteries...
All of the tests (or at least the professionally done ones..) that I have seen show that most of these batteries have sensibly lower real mAh than the nominal ones and/or degrade pretty more quickly. The few good ones are invariably the expensive ones which, when they grant appreciable higher mAh than the original ones, are also sensibly bigger and heavier and require different, "bulging" back covers to accomodate them which means that they can most probably not be docked anymore in the car mount or in the desktop dock (if you use one), are less comfortable to pocket, make the phone heavier and ruin the design too (not much important this last point but still), YUCK!

no mate just those batteries... so your advise is to stay away from not original... although ANKER seems to have positive feedback from customers who bought it in amazon..

Well, Mugen makes quality batteries and it's a known brand. The chinese no-name batteries are not. We do not know how it's made, what materials has been used and so on. It's not worth the risk IMO. If that battery melts or worse; explodes, you won't only lose the 10 dollars you used - your device and maybe even your leg/face will get damaged.
Worth it?

Adopt the setup I suggested you and you too will see no reason to use anything else but original batteries.

I think most of the people don't like multiple batteries as that requires popping out the accessory cover/case AND the phone cover every single time to swap the battery. Of course, the batteries and their chargers need to be carried around too. All this is tedious and most don't like this inconvenience, so they prefer a battery with higher mAh instead of multiple batteries.

Turning the phone off, swapping batteries and turning the phone on takes all of 30 sec.
Now compare 30 seconds to keeping your phone "on a leash" every single day for 2-3 HOURS to a wall charger... and you call THAT "tedious"????
As for cases, I have NEVER used cases on any of my phones (hate them for all the reasons listed again below) so I won't comment on that other than noting that you talk about cases but with bigger batteries you can't use cases AT ALL so that's just another disadvantage of bigger than original batteries!

Just the batteries, of course (you take with you however many you may need), what would be the reason for carrying around the chargers??
You charge your battery/batteries once you get back home.
An extended battery will NEVER last as long as just 2 original batteries (besides making it fatter, heavier, uncomfortable, not dockable etc) and with multiple batteries you can cover completely whatever you need to do with your smartphone even for short multi-day complete trips. Imagine being out camping, with extended batteries you would have to bring with you heavy external batteries anyway to which you would ALSO have to keep your Note tethered to for hours to recharge...
Very long trips? Of course you take the battery charger (very slim and light BTW and doubles as a stand to boot) with you, exactly like you would have to take your normal charger with external batteries.
There is no real point AGAINST additional batteries and there are PLENTY FOR IT.
It's a no brainer for any poweruser (i.e. anyone who actually NEEDS and USES smartphones...).
I'm always testing out new types of chargers but i agree, official charger and then one or two spare batteries - no more battery anxiety

It's pretty compact too. I use a lot of Aukey products; at first I thought they were a knockoff Anker but they're just as good.

Nothing is ever completely "non-removable", mate.
Easiest solution would be a usb power case, although i haven't seen any for this phone so far.
Changing the battery on this phone is a fairly simple process, especially if you have fixed a phone before. The toughest part is the glue, but a little heat goes a long way. Just fixed the screen and changed the battery on a Mate 2, and I think that's a little more complex than the ZenFone 2. The biggest challenge would be finding a higher capacity battery that the firmware would recognize.....and that would fit.

The only company that I think would make an extended battery for this is ZeroLemon. They are the only ones I've seen to use creative shapes to take advantage of extra room in the Z dimension. The only thing that would stop them from taking it on is plain economics. They would have to see that this phone is not only popular enough, but also enough nerds like us to justify dumping resources into R&D for it.

Guys, I had never see replacement battery for non-removable battery products..you can wish for battery-covers but I don't get the point, the phone in already very big and heavy (170 grams are already a lot), if you increase battery (and it's not possible in the original case, maybe only Mugen is able to do this, but I don't think they will produce a battery for a non-removable product) it will will become a brick and you can use it to build your new house Seriously, I think it's better to buy a powerbank (I use the Xiaomi 10400 and it's great). Asus won't release a new battery for this phone, removing the original battery you will void warranty. For me, no chances.
I am considering the zenfone 2 as an option for my next phone. Thing is, i dont like the idea to have after 2-3 Years get rid of the phone because the battery is gone.

Doesn't matter if you see the point or think the phone is already too big. I want a battery case much like the ZeroLemon case for the Galaxy Note series. I dont care how big or bulky my phone is, I have huge hands and I would prefer to have a phone that lasts two days instead of one that looks pretty.
I myself have looked for either a bigger battery, or a case, and have found nothing...
Unfortunately the only solution would be to carry a power bank of some sort. I guess the phone isn't that popular .

I purchased mine in AsusParts, took 2-3 weeks cause it ships from Asia to Europe and then to your country, installed and everything works fine ATM.
Before, I tried at AliExpress but they sent the wrong battery, I think Zenfone 5 has the same battery with a different connector (check my thread about screen replacement in Q&A section for more info)
