Do not unzip the rom. rename it to the p769img.zip and put in on the root of your sd card and then go to your bootloader and let it install it from there. your custom .img and recovery will be deleted and replace with stock

Thank you for your answer. But I also tried this version and it doesn't work: model ID incorrect update fail

Hmm. Try different ruu's to do this, one is bound to work

Help , my htc one x won't flash any rom

Hi guys
I got the Asian pacific version of the Htc one x and I unlocked its bootloader, rooted and flashed clockwork mod recovery. I copied the Miui rom to the root of the device but I unblugged the cable while it was copying and I didn't notice that. so I went to mount settings formated the system without backing the system up and when I tried to install miui off course it says installation aborted. anywho I tried to download RUU for the Asian version and when I install it after 6% it gives me this error:
[155] unkown error
soo I decided to lock it again and to restore it's recovery, I found a guy from Meddile east posting a recovery so I took it and flash it (I don't know wheither it's recovery for ME devcices, Asian or both).
any who after 6% I get a new error
which is this one:
[131] customer ID error.
I thought the problem because I chosed the rong RUU so I tried to get the cid by typing
fastboot getvar cid
and it says: CID: NONE
tried to type :
adb shell getprop ro.cid
it says device wasn't found
please help me , I've been trying to solve this problem for three days now.
sorry for my bad english
thanks
There are two ways here:
1) do you still want to flash a MIUI ROM ?
You need to re-unlock the bootloader and flash this recovery http://xda.richardtrip.org/HTC/reco...kwork-touch-5.8.3.1-endeavoru_fixedadbusb.img
It will mount your sdcard once you are in recovery, so you can put your MIUI ROM in it and flash the ROM.
2) do you want to flash back to stock ?
Check your software version, in fastboot mode : fastboot getvar version-main
then only can confirm the right RUU for you

Tell us the results of:
fastboot oem readcid
And
fastboot getvar version-main
And your hboot version.
Update Hboot
I am 99% sure ur on hboot 1,12 or lower.
Update that first!

Download the boot.img and recovery.img for the OTA 2.17.401.2
then flash boot, system.img images and the lock the oem. now try to update the device software.
these steps will work only when you haven't changed any thing in system(Files).
if this fails follows the steps below.
Download the RUU 2.17.401.2 you can find here
then run the RUU, don't close it.
open run(windows specfic) and type %temp% and find the rom.zip in those directors.
extract the boot.img and system.img from that rom.zip. and flash them.
now lock the oem.
then continue the installation of RUU.
watch out

[Q] Need the right RUU for my device! Please help!

Hi Dudes,
as I'm about to sell my HTC Wildfire S for a few bux. In order for that, I want(/need) to go back to stock firmware, but I can't seem to find the fitting RUU for my device.
I'd take the rom.zip out of this RUU, rename it to PG76IMG.zip and then I'd flash it throught HBOOT.
I already tried two RUUs:
1)RUU_Marvel_S_HTC_Europe_2.13.401.3_Radio_47.23c.35.3037_7.54.39.28M_release_236989_signed.exe
..as it had the right ending of the Radio version respectively the one shown when I boot into bootloader (7.54.39.28M)
...Error: Main Version is older! Update Fail!
2) RUU_Marvel_S_HTC_Europe_2.26.401.3_Radio_47.23e.35.3038H_7.57.39.10M_release_261695_signed.exe
...as it is the latest one available for the Wildfire S Europe
...Error: Main Version is older! Update Fail!
So, please help me!

Just download the 2.26 RUU by myself from here and extracted the radio, boot, recovery, system, userdata and ramdisk (-.img) from the rom.zip. Will flash them later and report back if it worked...hopefully it will
EDIT: After every single flash attempt, the terminal gave me sth like this:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
sending 'boot' (2870 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.279s]
writing 'boot'...
(bootloader) signature checking...
FAILED (remote: signature verify fail)
finished. total time: 1.910s
Sidenote: Only the bold written part - the "error part" - is important in that case as the rest depends on what I've chosen to flash (i.e. replace 'boot' with 'recovery', 'system')
Any help?!
P.S.: When I boot it boots still into CM (the ROM I come from).
U try format boot and other partition on CWM?
I dont have any problem with this files flashed on first time
Try format all, and again flash (first recovery.img)
Try lock bootloader, and unlock again.Check if u have installed usb drivers on PC.
Or try flash this files with CWM(install zip from SD card).
Or try this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=651526

If you have a stock backup, I have a stock recovery that should work for the LRA models, PM me. Since you're S-off you might take it to Bluegrass and ask them to flash it back to stock and start over again. S-off should stay after they've flashed.
I WOULD NOT use a Verizon or other LRA carrier RUU, since the radios and radio configurations are similar, but different enough that they will likely screw up your service.

I believe you installed wrong firmware which is a modded GPE firmware. That's why you can't install most of the ROM now.
You need to put correct CID/MID or at least change the CID to SuperCID 11111111 and MID 0P6B20000
It's not easy to fix your device now as you already installed some other region rcdata.img that come with the wrong firmware.
Anyway .. try again the correct Verizon firmware after change of CID/MID
You'll be able to install any Verizon based ROM but your data connection may still have problem.
Or better to install Verizon 4.4.4 firmware then restore LRA US 3.31.512.2 nandroid backup then do OTA if there is one. Restore the backup I believe you'll get wifi working .. after OTA .. your data connection should be restored.
Code:

Didn't realize you were GSM since you are trying to flash verizon firmware with a phone that has the same MID and product version.
If your phone is GSM, you could try flashing WWE/International firmware (4.16.401.10). That's what I am using on a Telus phone. MID for WWE is 0P6B10000, Telus is 0P6B16000. It works great.
I didn't change the MID, just switched to superCID and flashed the firmware. Your product version may not let it install, but it might and it won't brick you. You'll just get errors if it won't work. My product version was M8_UL_CAN and it changed to M8_UL after flashing the WWE firmware, so it might be worth giving a shot.

1. Install the 4.4.4 firmware that you can find here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52017763&postcount=2
2. Restore the LRA_001 nandroid backup that you can find here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58438595&postcount=14
Note : this nandroid is made with CWM and CMW recovery is included in the zip.
3. After restore, boot and check for OTA. You may not have data connection but you should have wifi connection.
4. After the OTA installation, you should get your data connection back.
Good Luck

Ok so here is the update,
After about a 100 reboots the OTA was successfully downloaded. But it won't let it flash, whenever I tried to flash it just rebooted, since the firmware didn't contain boot and recovery and I was on CWM I thought its recovery issue so flashed stok firmware and boot. It still didn't work, then flashed TWRP and tried to install OTA again, got some fingerprint error, please see the attached image.
When you restored the nandroid, do you restore the stock recovery included in the zip ?
OTA will install on stock recovery not CWM & not TWRP and not even on vzn stock recovery.
Do you still have the OTA.zip in internal storage/download folder ?
Copy that to PC, open it with 7-zip and extract out firmware.zip. Open firmware.zip and extract out the recovery.img
Flash this recovery.img. As your device is S-Off you can manually install OTA with stock recovery installed. Do you know how ? If not sure, ask .. will tell you how-to when I get to my PC. Not easy to write all these on mobile.
Or you can flash this extracted firmware.zip in ruu mode, you'll solve your data connection problem.
Then you can redo OTA installation process.

when i restored the nandroid it didn't restore the stock recovery, i flashed the stock recovery from the firmware.zip, the OTA is still in download folder, whenever i check for update it finds the existing file verifies it and prompt to install it, i did select to install it, its still just rebooting, after a couple of attempts it once booted into recovery but then without any progress it kept rebooting into recovery, after several reboots it booted again normally.
so now i have the stock recovery installed, should i rename the firmware.zip to 0P6B2000.zip and install it via hboot?
You flashed the stock recovery from which firmware.zip ? The one from VZN won't work. The one from the OTA zip will.
No .. that's wrong to rename firmware.zip to 0P6B2000.zip
Try this first :
firmware.zip is the one from OTA zip, not VZN
Put your device on bootloader/fastboot mode and connect to PC (you should see fastboot usb highlighted in red).
Put the firmware.zip in your fastboot folder. Open a command prompt from that folder.
type below command :
fastboot reboot-bootloader (to make sure you're on fastboot mode)
fastboot oem rebootRUU (to put the device in RUU mode)
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip (flashing the firmware.zip)
You'll see : FAILED (remote: 90 hboot pre-update! please flush image again immediately)
repeat fastboot flash zip firmware.zip (to complete firmware installation)
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Check your bootloader now written OS - 4.21.512.4
Now reboot (your data connection should work now) and redo OTA process
EDIT : can you upload that OTA zip to your GDrive or Dropbox and PM me the link. That will help many people.

ok i did flash the firmware in RUU mode, i can see the latest version in bootloader mode, then rebooted the phone but now its stuck in bootloop,.
managed to get to bootloader again by holding volum and power button while it was rebooting.
cant get to home screen.
yes i will upload the OTA and share the link.
Install CWM and restore the backup again ..
After you already boot and run setup ... copy the OTA zip to root of your internal storage, not in any folder.
boot to bootloader and install the stock recovery from that LRA firmware.zip
select hboot then recovery .. you'll get black screen or red triangle .. press & hold volume up button and press power once .. this will get you to stock recovery menu
select install from phone storage
select the OTA zip
install
reboot

ok installed CWM, restored the nandroid, still rebooting and not signals.
flashed the stock recovery (the one from OTA) tried to install the OTA again, same problem rebooting again n again, managed to get into recovery once, but then stuck in boot loop on recovery, managed to get into bootloader by the volume and power button.
There's nothing much that I can offer to help. Your rebooting problem I believe due to motherboard cannot take the heat. I want to say this earlier but let you try all the possibilities first, you may have damaged motherboard that is why previously you have restarting problem when using your device.
Let your phone to cool down ... then try again. If still the same, need to send it to repair centre.
