Awesome, thanks for the list.
Quick question for you. Any idea where dialer codes for High Temperature Property can be changed? I want to see if it will resolve microstutter I am experiencing.
1. Enter the following based on your device model:
3845#*800# (for At&T model)
3845#*801# (for T-Mobile variants)
3845#*802# (for European variants)
3845#*803# (for AT&T and Canadian variants)
???? (Sprint)

Sorry at the moment no. In producer menu there is a battery thermal selection but i cant access it

Sadly the easiest way is to ask sprint for it

I called Sprint and asked for my MSL number and she gave it to me, no questions asked. Also you can just ask them for the instructions to program your phone, and the six digit dialer code they give you is your MSL.

You should be able to call Sprint to get your MSL without issues.
However those that prefer not to call Sprint can try this method in the link that worked for me. What is great about this method to get your MSL is that it appears to work on the major OEMs of phones like HTC, Samsung, LG, Motorola, etc. If this works for you on the LG G2, maybe you can try to see if it works on the GS4 or HTC One or Moto X if you have one.
Disclaimer: I actually got my MSL from Sprint when I called Sprint to activate my phone so I was able to verify after the fact that this method works below. I was only able to verify it on Windows 7. I don't expect it to have issues on Windows 8 but you never know.

I tried the Chat method, here is what they told me:
I would like to share that we can only give the MSL number of the phone if the contract is expired, but since the contract is going on for your line so that is the reason we are unable to provide the MSL code from here,. we do not want that you face any sort of issue, I want to help you as much as possible from here. for that I recommend you to please contact our dedicated technical team at 8882114727 and there will be no issue,

I used the method on the linked thread to obtain my MSL. After obtaining my MSL, I went to the ##DATA# menu and turned on the two disabled LTE bands. A pop-up asked for my MSL, so I entered the number I obtained and the phone rebooted with the additional bands enabled!

Right now the LG G2 by default has the B26 (800 MHz) and B41 (2500 MHz) LTE bands disabled. With your MSL code, you can manually enable these B26 and B41 LTE bands to do some LTE testing.
See these speedtest screenshots of my B41 LTE testing I did last night.

[Q] Diagnostics settings

The T-Mobile G2 has *#*#4636#*#* to enter the diagnostics function.
Would there be anyone out there that could give me the best (performance) settting options that I should select with my G2 when in the diagnostic mode? Thanks in advance!
Aloha From Hawaii
I mostly use WCDMA only. You also can downlaod AnyCut from the market and load the shortcut PHONE INFO and it will do the same thing as dialing those numbers
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
Also too, why do I use WCDMA only is for it only looks for HSPA+. That way if I'm say in walmart it does not go back and forth on HSPA+ and Edge all the time. If its not 100% HSPA+ than my cell won't connect and waste that little bit of battery roaming
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
If you're in a city with good HSPA or 3G coverage, use WCDMA preferred. If you're in a city with spotty 3G/HSPA coverage, use GSM auto (PRL). The first will connect to 3G/HSPA if at all possible. The second option needs to reach a higher signal threshold before it switches to 3G/HSPA. I've tested both.

I know this is a newb question but what does it mean when you see all of those numbers and symbols? Is it a number to call or text? I want to know because I say it under the OTA post in order to "Check In" but I have no idea what it means or how to use it.

You enter it just like a phone call, then it will present the Phone Info menus to you. To checkin, it's the same sort of thing, just dial *#*#2432546#*#*

Tmobile S4 on AT&T cannot connect to LTE help!

Hey everyone!
So I picked up a tmobile s4 to use on ATT since I read it was the most unlocked due to bands / bootlocker. I unlocked it via the method described on this site via the debug menu.
Popped in ATT sim, everything looked fine initially.
1. I'm only getting 4G in an LTE area. device hasn't picked up any LTE anywhere yet.
2. When I go under "Network Mode" and select "LTE/GSM/WCDMA (auto connect) the signal dies out and it always reverts back to GSM/WCDMA"
3. I've called ATT a few times and triple checked that I'm on an Android LTE data plan, so that's not an issue. ATT techs suggested it could be a device issue and maybe I should take it into their tech center.
4. Tried to set up ATT Visual Voicemail, that failed also.
So can it be a Sim issue? Maybe something on tmobiles side? Since device was never active on their network. A lemon S4?
I've run out of options
Any help would be appreciated.
TIA!

SIM Unlock LG G Pad 8.3 VK810 Verizon to AT&T

I have been searching and cant seem to find anything... :/
I am trying to SIM Unlock my LG G Pad 8.3 Model VK810 that is Verizon and should come factory unlock I believe. I need this to be used on AT&T LTE which I have a sim card for and a tablet plan on the shared data plan.
It is on 4.2.2 baseband is m9615a-cefwtazm
I tried adding some ATT APN settings I found, but that did not help me. I think I need to Change it to GSM From CDMA somehow? I am not really sure. I can update and root if needed or whatever I need to do. I also have a samsung z3x box, but dont think it will work on the LG.
Any help would really help me out! Thank you in advance.

As it seems you are comfortable messing with your APN settings that should be all you will need to do. The device is locked to specific wireless frequencies but luckily for you at &t uses the same LTE frequencies. You will need to have root access in order to write your APN settings though, check the forums for information on that. Finally make sure that the sim you have is compatible with your tablet data plan, and your APN settings should be as follows for mobile data only.
APN: BROADBAND
MCC: 310
MNC: 410

I do not, I am sure you will find something if you look around. The V500 and V510 methods are not compatible. There is a method for yours though along with a custom recovery in the works. You may even have a custom rom in the near future.
P.S. this topic belongs in Q/A and not development.

Why would it belong in Q/A? If I am having to root and unlock it or do custom recovery? Isn't that with development?
Sorry if I have posted in the wrong place.

But there are no custom roms that I have found yet.
So, I should Root this and then change the APN settings to what you told me and my ATT SIM would work?

I haven't read much about i0root but it looks like it will work. Now the next part is not certain weather or not it will work, but I have seen tablets able to run on other networks that are unlocked. As long as Verizon did not implement any extra protection you should be able to use an at&t sim that is enabled for tablet data.
Once you are rooted go pick up es file explorer and navigate to /system/etc/apns-conf.xml . Make sure that before you change anything that you make a copy and name it something else so you can find it again if you have to go back. Open the file using the text editor. You can get rid of the other apns and just put your new one in there and give it a reboot. It should kick right on after you reboot. Good luck!

I have an LG G PAD 8.3 VK810 Verizon that I am trying to root in order to SIM unlock from Verizon to ATT.
I have installed the Drivers packages here and it finds the drivers in USB Modes: Charge tablet and media sync fine, but when I go to Internet Connection mode and choose ethernet it can not find the following drivers: CDC ECM, CDC SERIAL, AND 3 THAT SAY LGE ANDROID PHONE.
Any ideas on how to get these drivers installed to try the next step? I tried to go ahead and run the iroot program but it can not find the device.

Thx for the tip. The tablet is set to LTE mode and since T-Mobile LTE has the same band with Verizon LTE. It definitely works on T-Mobile.
For AT&T, no luck even if rooted. I used Radio Switcher app to go to the Tablet Info in Testing Mode. But it displays error message "This application does not work on this device".

Vk810 supports lte bands 4(aws) and 13 (700mhz block c), bands that Verizon uses
T-Mobile uses band 4 for lte mainly, will use band 2 (1900) and 12 (700 MHz block a) in the future as well. Vk810 will work on T-Mobile wherever tmobile has LTE right now (with band 4)
Att uses band 4, 2 (1900), 17(700mhz block b) and 30(2300mhz). Vk810 will only work on att if at uses band 4. If att only used band 2 in your area, your att phone (which supports band 2) will show LTE, but vk810 won't work
I don't know if there is a map showing which bands att uses in your area. There is a spectrum map showing who owns which band in which region, but no guarantee that att has active cell sites

Then I edited build.prop ro.build.target_operator=VZN to OPEN. Now the circle is gone leaving a greyed out signal bar with small red x above it. I'm on 4.2.2. Can someone elaborate?

Then I edited build.prop ro.build.target_operator=VZN to OPEN. Now the circle is gone leaving a greyed out signal bar with small red x above it. I'm on 4.2.2. Can someone elaborate?

what region/location are you in?
believe that circle = battery indicator, not network indicator.... full circle = 100% battery, otherwise not 100% battery

I'm not sure if this works on at&t. Mine is working on T-Mobile. All I did was insert the T-Mobile SIM and APN settings for it to work.

as I said before...
this device is unlocked... it accepts any SIMs, and works w/ any band 4/13 network
AT&T's network accept any device that's approved for GSM/LTE spec, and compatible with their band 2/4/17/30 network.
AT&T doesn't have band 4 everywhere.. for example, no band 4 in nyc region.... this device won't work on at&t in nyc

LOL, I know it's unlocked. I'm using it on T-Mobile without a problem. And yes, I read your previous post. I was just answering what I personally know firsthand.

LTE Connection problems

For those of you have LTE connection issues when in the past LTE worked fine I want to share what I did and it worked. I am not in a Spark area and after getting the update from Sprint I lost LTE connection at work. I previously had LTE a 100% of the time at work. I noticed that a lot of folks on the Sprint forums were having the very same issue. After researching with Sprint to solve my problem (They were no help at all), and the combination of things I read here on xda (I can't find the forum So I take not credit for this) I want to share the solution that worked for me.
1. Call Sprint and obtain your MSL code
2. In the phone dialer enter ##3282#
3. press LTE and enter edit, Enter MSL code
4. Click on LTE, then bands 26 and 41 and disable both of them
5. Phone should reboot and LTE should work as it did before
If someone would be so kind if I can't find the threads on here I would like to link them and give credit were it is due.
I just wanted to share what worked for me.

Then this mod doesn't really pertain to you. It just turns off those connections for Sprints Spark system.

Just a note if you get a profile or prl update that you did not initiate you will have to turn off bands 26 and 41 again following the steps above.
Disabling bands 26 (800mhz) and 41 (2500mhz) seems counterproductive to the gains that Sprint Spark is supposed to bring. I'm guessing it's probably region specific to those having LTE issues where disabling these bands "fixes" whatever issues you're having (maybe Spark is not fully deployed, etc). I'm not having these LTE issues by the way, and LTE coverage here in NYC has improved to the point that i even get LTE in some underground subway stations.

That's the exact problem, the roll out is far from nation wide. So if you are in a non spark area, the phone constantly seems to search for it. My battery life significantly decreased on ZVC. Once I shut off those bands, my LTE was much more stable and battery life improved greatly.

Enable bands

My friends has a g920p and wants to enable some bands so lte from telcel can work now he has only H+. Can that be done. I know that the s3 can with some magic. Thanks
Enviado desde mi SM-N920C mediante Tapatalk
Just put the phone on automatic in mobile network settings and set up two apns one for hspa and another for lte but make sure the lte apn has the bearer option set to lte the other just leave it how it is.
Didnt get it my friend.... here in mexico we use same apn for 3G or 4G LTE. We just need a sim v6.x and will get the lte bands.

I know how to do this, but you would need to have the MSL number, if you don't then Google idoneapps, this guy sells an app that unlocks phone and extract that number.
So i need the msl number so how can i get it. Friends phone is already unlock.
Enviado desde mi SM-G920F mediante Tapatalk
MSL number is needed to edit data settings in sprint hidden menu. Install shortcut lite master and then search for PST, launch that application. Then look for ##Data#menu. You'll see there if your LTE is enabled or not. If it is not the only way to enable it is having MSL number.
Hidden Menu
there is no need for app for shortcut. Go to setting and go to Activate this device. Phone will load some info then look at top right for MORE. Click on it then click on PST. This will take to hidden menu,
To get LTE working all you have to do is create two separate APN's one with your regular APN settings and another that is identical APN settings but on the "Bearer" setting put it on LTE and you're good to go also make sure your phone is set to automatic and not gsm / umts

Also the phone will automatically switch to the apn that's needed. No need to keep switching apns

what you stated here is correct. but have you tried it yourself?
I did, but there issue with send text messages. incoming sms works, outgoing - no.
there is no need to set to automatic. in service menu there is point where you can set preferred network type LTE_GSM_UMTS., but again, sms does not work.

No clue maybe do ##72786# it will reset the phones modem settings and it will nag about activation again and relock the phone but I did it since I can unlock it myself again and never had an issue.
Weird thing is that my phone after unlock it wanted activation popup and then it actually went through and it went away with my T-Mobile sim.

Ok found something out for some reason if you do not get LTE after setting it to Automatic switch to LTE/CDMA let it reboot and Reswitch it to Automatic reboot again then LTE+GSM_WCDMA should work.
Do you mean in service mode select cdma/lte then reboot and then go back to service mode n select gsm/wcdma/lte? Because ive been trying that fkr hkurs since reading your post lol. If this works your a beast . We need a gsm rom for this phone tho

George, do you have a legit way to get lte working on our device ? I haven't seen any proof from anyone claiming lte working on att or tmobile.

hmmm, been in the same boat with T-Mobile and a G920P, with only 3G being picked up but after switching it to automatic, it picked up LTE! Thanks for the poiter. However, have you been able to get MMS enabled or working as I seem to have issues with that and not sure why it isn't downloading the messages. Not sure if I need to give T-Mo a call and get something enabled or what. BTW, how did you manage to make that annoying activation screen go away as the moment I got it unlocked and popped in my sim card, it can't ever activate, but works fine though
any one succeeded in unlocking bands
Has anyone had any success enabling additional bands on a Sprint S6? Basically the bands it comes unlocked with are useless for Europe 4g and would love to unlock bands 3, 7, 20, 28, however 3 & 7 would be enough.

Same here. seems to me Samsung does not give us open source to edit Exynos settings. As I'm aware, our phones' hardware is capable to get those bands
