I can stream audio to my car stereo easily enough through USB. The trouble I'm having is my stereo only sees music in my sdcard\Android\data\com.dropbox.android\files\scratch folder and not my sdcard\music folder. What is the problem? There is no .nomedia file on the sdcard root nor in the music folder. I've run the resync app a couple of times and I can see the music files with the phones music app. I used root browser to copy a song from music to sdcard\Android\data\com.dropbox.android\files\scratch and the stereo was able to see it. I've rebooted and removed/re-inserted my sdcard several times. What am I missing?

Hi I have just copied some music files over from my netbook to my Wildfire. What I did was connect the phone to the pc with the usb cable and its sd card was recognised. There was no folder for music so I created a new folder on the phones sd card and named it music.
I then located the tracks I wanted to put on the phone and simply copied and then pasted them to the Music folder on the phone. So far so good.
Now on the phone select the music app and play the tracks.Music plays great, the only thing that is wrong is that the majority of the tracks display the same imagewhen the track is playing. Some of them have the correct artwork or album cover image but the majority have the image of Pixie Lott. Now I have some tracks of pixie Lott but dont know why her image is assinged to a lot of the other tracks.
Any ideas how I can correct this annoying glitch?
Thanks in advance
Try putting each song in a folder for its specific album? Works for me
I'm on CM9 RC2.
When I'm connecting my phone to the PC in MTP mode, it is being discovered as an MTP device, but I cannot find any of the music files on it. My music library is on the SD Card, and while the music folder does appear in the SDCard "Drive", it is empty.
In Winamp the device is also being discovered, but the music library is empty.
Any ideas?
Nevermind, I solved it.
For those wondering, a media scan process had to be ran on the phone itself. I thought that a media scan is triggered on every boot, but I guess it's not the case with Cyanogen?
Anyway, the solution was to download the app "Rescan Media" from the store. This app forces a media scan which after several minutes made all of my music library visible in Winamp.
dear all....i have a question about a mp3 folder inside an usb key connected via otg. Basically when i start playing the music, at the end of every single track I have to restart again the second one...and so on....I thought that when the audio player started it found the folder in the usb storage..but it find only the music folder inside the sd and inside the hard disk. Itì' s abig problem for me because evry time ( to be able to listen the playlist as usual ) I have to copy the folder from the usb to the note. Does anyone experience this matter and have a soluton??...thanks a lot for your precious help...Marco
Hi All,
I have a media folder on my sd card that has a couple ringtones and a few notification sounds and the Asus music player is listing them as music to play. My Galaxy S4 did not, it ignored them. I placed a .nomedia file in the directory but now android ignores that directory and it's sub-directories completely.
Has anyone else run into this?
I actually use a different music player that let me select the music folder.
Now does it happen to you that when you are playing music and you turn the screen on or off there is a little skip of sound?
It has happened to me in the stock music player, poweramp and Pandora.
