I'm on CM9 RC2.
When I'm connecting my phone to the PC in MTP mode, it is being discovered as an MTP device, but I cannot find any of the music files on it. My music library is on the SD Card, and while the music folder does appear in the SDCard "Drive", it is empty.
In Winamp the device is also being discovered, but the music library is empty.
Any ideas?
Nevermind, I solved it.
For those wondering, a media scan process had to be ran on the phone itself. I thought that a media scan is triggered on every boot, but I guess it's not the case with Cyanogen?
Anyway, the solution was to download the app "Rescan Media" from the store. This app forces a media scan which after several minutes made all of my music library visible in Winamp.

Hello!
I've experienced this problem before:
when I add some mp3 files to a memory card (using usb card reader), Audio Manager finds songs just fine, however once I click on any of the songs from libriary, after 5 seconds of doing nothing I see a white screen with list of running programs to chose to kill. I have to remove memory card out of the phone and then chose and close audio manager (twice) in order to bring phone to life. Otherwise I have to reboot it.
Before I was suspecting mp3s, maybe they were broken, but today, when this happened, I removed all newly added mp3s and left these that were before but this problem stayed.
Last time I had this problem I had to reformat memory card, no matter what I added on it Audio Manager would freeze whole phone...
Anyone knows why this happening?
Thank you.
Hey, i've only ever noticed this when i've got lots of other stuff open and Audiomanager cant handle the MP3 aswell, or when i'm trying to play 320kbps mp3's.
Yes, that would make sence - not enough free ram, however in my case, this happens even after reboot and last time with 128kbps files...
Hi:
I have all my music stored on SD card. I sync it with Windows Media Player. All songs appear normally in Windows Media Player and when I use Files Explorer on Tilt 2 to view the songs on SD card.
My problem is, when I use the music player in TF3D, and look at library/songs, many songs appear twice. The really odd part is that a song may appear once with album art (which all my songs have), and a second instance with no album art.
When I play songs on the music tab in TF3D both instances of the song play. What I mean is, sometimes a song will show with album art, and sometimes the one without album art shows. The same is true if I edit a song title etc through Windows Media Player (I believe it is version 11). A song will show as the pre-edited version sometimes, other times it shows the edited version.
Any ideas? This is really driving me nuts.
Thanks!
I have a similar problem - but possibly the opposite to yours.
I have approx. 15Gb of music on the MicroSD on my TP2, and regularly use Windows Media Player to sync new music to the phone. However, Windows Media Player appears to sync ALL the music BACK to the PC as well - meaning I have each song duplicated on the PC (sometimes many times), which is rapidly filling up my hard drive unless I periodically manually delete all duplicates (which is painful).
I'm sure there must be a setting within Windows Media Player to stop this happening - but I still want to be able to sync music TO the phone (just not back).
Has anyone else encountered this issue or know a solution?
I'm using WMP11 to sync music to my phone. When it's in disk drive mode the mp3's transfer but the playlists won't. When I'm in active sync mode the playlist gets copied as well. Is this the way it's supposed to work?
Also I noticed sometimes the tf3d music player takes forever playing a mp3. Once it plays is fine for awhile then will do it again the next day.
I transfered about 8gbs of music. Could it be my miniSD Card or is this happening to other people?

Click to collapse
It is normal with that much music for it to take awhile when it updates. I have about that much on mine and it takes awhile when it is searching, Far as I know the playlists only move over when in AS mode but could be mistaken
Is there any registry tweaks I can do to speed this up. Once i do a soft reboot or change anything on my sd card its seems it scans for music again. It takes up to 15 minutes before the music starts playing again.
Hi,
I hope I'm posting this in the right section.
I have a problem with HTC Music player not showing some artworks (which are directly saved in mp3). I already tried 3 (Cubed) player as well and it has the same issue.
I also tried updating the artwork several times just to make sure Desire would recognize the change but no luck. The phone does not refresh the id3tag at all. Winamp and WMP on my desktop show the artwork correctly.
Does anyone else experience something similar?
Well, it seems that deleting the folder albumthumbs from SDcard solved this issue.
Although it does not explain why the phone is unable to refresh the id3 tags even when the affected songs are deleted and copied back again.
Oh well
Have you tried to use the app called SDrescan?
I can stream audio to my car stereo easily enough through USB. The trouble I'm having is my stereo only sees music in my sdcard\Android\data\com.dropbox.android\files\scratch folder and not my sdcard\music folder. What is the problem? There is no .nomedia file on the sdcard root nor in the music folder. I've run the resync app a couple of times and I can see the music files with the phones music app. I used root browser to copy a song from music to sdcard\Android\data\com.dropbox.android\files\scratch and the stereo was able to see it. I've rebooted and removed/re-inserted my sdcard several times. What am I missing?
