Why just the kernel? just flash the whole stock image and that comes with kernel through odin and you will be good to flash the Rom of your choice through the typical Custom Recovery Zips after you get everything stable again.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987541
Go to the firmwares and pick the stock one, thats should be enough to get you back up and going again.

alright man gonna take the firmware from there and odin it,if it lets me in just hit root twrp cleanrom and saberkernel and not touch it till a cleanrom like rom comes for 4.3
Thanks for the help,Hope this works out good

solved
Gracias my friend all done!! woot woot,Finally got my phone running again, thanks thanks thanks

First off all, yes you are at the good place to ask questions:good:
Second, what is your phone model/provider? (Me i have an SGH-i317M with Telus)
Do you still want root?
If no, you can use kies to upgrade to 4.1.2. I did that, but I have loose root and my custom recovery.
So I have installed a new "stock" rom from this thread witch is already rooted : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2004650
After I installed Goomanager and I have flashed Twrp recovery.
And now I use this rom from miscom : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2016575
The stock rom was not enough for me because you can't use all app in multiwindow.
Hope that helped you

this question is has to do with official 4.2.1 upgrade...

I have googled this question quite a few times but haven't found a real answer so here it is....I am currently rooted and running cm10.1.3 and I want to flash 4.3 ROMs but I'm not sure if I need to upgrade to the official 4.2.1 uvmc6 then reroot my phone in order for 4.3 ROMs to work correctly??? I did see somewhere that said about upgrading my recovery which is cwm 5. Something but its a touch version.. If someone could please shed some light on this process that would be great... I just want it done right so I don't screw something up.. Thanks in advance

Make a backup
Using Odin, install the latest TWRP Recovery
Reboot to Recovery
Make another backup (Once this is done, you can delete the one you just made, if you want to)
Flash 4.3 Rom
Flash 4.3 Gapps
Reboot
Enjoy
Or you can just flash twrp from the development thread.
yeah meekrawb made a flashable twrp 2.6.1.0 go search for it
Cool thanks you guys for the responses but I think I might go with Odin just to be sure nothing goes wrong!!
ODIN flashing increases your flash count. Avoid if at all possible.

Bricked... Which rom to recover

So I need some advice on which ROM to flash back on my phone. I am new to custom ROMs and managed to hard brick my phone. I am going to try a Jig to see if I can get into download mode, however, if I do that I am not sure what ROM to flash back onto my phone. It's a galaxy S3 i747. When this all started I was running JB 4.1.1 on it. Then I flashed CM10 and that went great. After I flashed CM10 my phone said that I was on JB 4.3. Did CM update JB and the bootloader? I know that trying to flash an older bootloader can cause troubles. Afater I had CM running I tried to flash LeanKernel and this is when I bricked my phone. So my questions is, do I need to flash the ROM for JB4.1.1 or for JB 4.3? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Look buddy, the first thing you want to do is flash the latest STOCK rom for you're model. After you've done that you can now backup you're stock rom via recovery (TWRP recommended), after that you now have a stable rom to return to just in case you fail to flash a custom rom. And I would recommend one of the stock mod roms to get the use of all of Samsung's exclusive features. Good luck, and feel free to ask any more questions.

Hey thanks. I really appreciate the help. I got in a little over my head so I'm just trying to get ahead of the learning curve as quick as possible. Now I've searched around for the stock 4.3 flash able ROM and am having trouble finding a clear cut download for it. Do you have a recommendation of where I can find the JB 4.3 stock to flash with ODIN?

There isn't an odin flashable 4.3 rom for i747. The last thing there is is 4.1.1 then the 4.3 you would take as an ota. I highly doubt cm updated your bootloader. Floating around the forums is an sd unbrick method. You could try that. I don't have experience with it, but quite a few people have. Good luck.

Maybe this would work : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2498233 Do some research on it first then let me know. And if you want a good and stable custom rom I recommend using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2504903. Just don't choose the note 3 option, choose the stock.

This is the rom I used to root it a year ago when I got the phone. Would this be a suitable choice to un-brick my phone?

That is only a method used to root you're phone, not to unbrick it.

But to root I flashed a ROM with Odin. The ROM is linked on that page. At least that is my understanding of how rooting works. Wouldn't that've a good ROM to use to un-brick?
Have you ever updated your phone to 4.3?
Sent from my SGH-I747M using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

Not entirely sure. Never updated to 4.3 on a stock ROM. It was on JB 4.1 before I flashed CM10. However once I flashed CM10 the settings page said my phone was on JB 4.3. So not sure if the bootloader got updated or not.
Thanks so much everyone for the help. I really appreciate it. Unfortunately the Jig did not work, so it is all a moot point in the end. Looks like the phone is going off to get JTAGed.

[Q] I Hate 4.4

Hello Everyone,
im new here but ive been on this forum before for help searching similar problems.
now the problem i have today is driving me crazy since 4pm, i tried everything and no hope.
i have Galaxy note 3 tmobile it was rooted working great but i wanted more out of my rom so i decided to go with jedi elite, but it was recommended to flash it with TWRP so i thought i could flash it over CWM. but it didnt work and i couldnt reboot in recovery anymore. no problem backed up my apps and unrooted the phone back to normal with 4.3, then i found out that 4.4 is out so i went ahead and downloaded it thinking i can root with 4.4 kitkat. well after i updated the phone i rooted and tried to use TWRP but it wouldnt work and the phone didnt wanna boot in recovery i tried CWM and no luck either.
now the phone for some reason is not rooted, it wont load in recovery mode and i tried to downgrade back to 4.3 with odin but it keeps failing.
heres what i need help with. Downgrade back to 4.3, be able to root and boot in recovery mode with TWRP...
help pleaseeee.
If you flashed the full 4.4 update your not going to be able to go back but you can have your root and recovery. Just no 4.3 roms, sorry. Easiest thing for me to tell you is there are some good tuts, if you can follow directions you can get straightened out. I was feeling generous and searched for you.
Good tut here for getting going on 4.4:

Once you went up u here. No looking back. I disagree with you cause kit Kat is great. It has speed and great battery life. No more WiFi headaches. U need to search the threads for the how to root video and follow it. The last 10 or so people who hated kit Kat was all them doing wrong. Can't blame something when u doing it wrong. What recovery you got what root method. Where did you get Odin file from. Did md5 check out. I tell you that you my friend did something wrong. Read the threads not just the op. A few guys posted a step by step and it worked for 98% of the people. The other 2 did it wrong

[Q] T889 Bricked, TWRP works, Wiped Everything, Have Android Toolkit, Now What?

Made big mistake. Downloaded Android Toolbox (PRO). Rooted 4.3 successfully. Trying to go to 4.1.2 from 4.3. Did Titanium backup. Downloaded Mr Robinson root66 ROM. Using TWRP (latest), made mistake of wiring everything (not extsdcard). Now stuck at the first Galaxy Note screen when the phone is turned on or I can get to TWRP. Feel dumb as a stump, but can't seem to move from here. Help!
All I really want to do is get back to an operating phone, be it with 4.3 or 4.1.2.

Sorry for the long-winded whiny first post. I'm just stumped how to flash a ROM back on the phone. Can I use TWRP to flash a new ROM? I usually have been able to muddle through but I'm really confused at this point. Anyone have an idea?
Thanks

If you can get into recovery you should be able to flash a custom rom, If not you will have to use Odin and flash a t889 rom to your phone preferably mk7.
Does your phone go in to download mode ? If yes, does it recognized by ODIN ?
If TWRP is working then you should not have any problems flashing any 4.3 rom via TWRP.
Thank you for the hint. I finally woke up after these replies and made the phone into a non-brick again. XDA continues to be my source for all things related to my toys.
