Greetings.
Question One: Is there any way to find low-level logging of incoming call details on my Note II? A call came in the other day -- "Unknown", hung-up in 4 seconds. Would like to see what call-related information is logged on the phone to see if the source can be tracked down...
Question Two: Trying to search these forums with phrase matching by using double-quote enclosed strings. Does not seem to work. For example searching "incoming call details" seems to just search the words of the search phrase individually even when enclosed in "" characters.
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Basically there are a lot of people with the same problem.
When we hold down the magnifying glass and say "Call someone" the person isn't dialled and instead a google search page is displayed. The search terms on this page are "Call someone"
Its almost as if the phone recognized the word call, but ignored its responsibility to actually call the person, and instead just thinks we want to search google for these terms.
I have a hunch it down to some of us installing the android keyboard to obtain voice input, before another method to obtain the feature was realised.
So my question to you suffering with this....
How did you enable voice input on your desire?

I have this problem too its very annoying

Sometimes it works for me, sometimes it ignores me.
ie sometime I say "dial xxx" and it calls them, other it does a google search. Sometimes I say "directions to xxx" and it opens directions/maps - others it google it again.
Unfortunately saying "what can I say" doesn't tell me anything - what I really need is some documentation on the keywords / commands required but I can't find reference to them anywhere.
Anyone know of any?
Thanks, M1
Press the magnifying glass and say nothing and it brings up search. Say something and the same happens.
Fixed
Maybe it has something to do with the local settings? I can choose the language and country > English(Netherlands), but not English(UK/US) or something..
So yes, I can't get it to work either..voice search 2.1 and android keyboard installed..
Have you actually installed the voice app? You are long pressing the mag key? The voice app mike is coming up?

Is Voice Search 2.1 a more recent version than the one pre-installed in the Desire? When I check my applications I get 'Version 140' under Voice Search....
It isn't pre-installed at all on the Desire, or wasn't on mine. The reason it doesn't work is because it isn't installed (in UK)
When I use the Google Voice Search to say "Call xxxx" (xxxx = any search term/non-contact) the number that shows after the search has a +1 in front of it. When it tries to dial it would ring, then a Verizon message would say the number cannot be dialed. I was hoping flashing CM7 would take care of this, but now it just fails to dial without the Verizon message. It fails immediately after attempting to dial.
I've seen a few topics across the web about this, most of them have to do with the phone adding a country code in place of the number and failing. However, I can't find a working solution.
CM7 doesn't appear to have call settings that would help. Has anyone experienced this issue? Can you dial a number that begins with a +1 from inside the US? I've heard (don't want to test) that dialing other countries with the plus sign works. I've also read that it's a known issue with HTC, and they may be working on a fix.
It's not a major problem, but that's what I typically use voice search for is searching for an address or number quickly. It's kind of a pain to memorize the number and dial that way.
For what it's worth, the issue is gone after flashing MIUI. It may be that I wiped the dalvik cache before flashing this one.
I apologize in advance if someone has asked/worked on this before, but I couldn't find anything specific, except someone asking the same question in the AT&T GS2 forum.
So something that bothers me is when I go through the call logs, it lists each and every call as a different entry, even if it is to the same contact. I came to Android from a Nokia E71x, and in that, the call log showed one entry for multiple calls to a contact. Just that when you selected the entry, it showed you multiple entries in that for incoming/outgoing/different times. I hope I didn't jumble up my problem too much. Basically, I want to know if a) there is a ROM which does this (I don't think there is) or b) if there is an app that does this.
Thanks!
I have a T-Mobile T989 GS2 and I have discovered a glitch in the text-to-speech function that others must have as well. When the program reads a message (eg, reading a text message in car mode or repeating a message you have dictated) it has a problem with any words that contain an apostrophe. For example, instead of saying "what's" as in "what's up?" it appears to read the alpha code for the apostrophe, so what it actually sounds like is, "What and apos semicolon s up" instead of "What's up." It doesn't do this for any other punctuation that I can tell, but does it for virtually all contractions and possessive forms with an apostrophe s.
I know this isn't just a problem with my phone because I went into my local T-Mobile store and their model did the same thing. I haven't found anything about this online and I wanted to know who else has encountered this problem. Is this a problem that is likely to be solved with a firmware update and does anyone know anything more about this problem? Thanks!
Hi beautiful people -
I posted this question in the Q&A section as well. Unsure which was the most appropriate place to ask. So if anyone can help, please post answers in the below thread.

Hi beautiful people -
I dial into allot of meeting and with that, I tend to dial the number and passcodes as one number.
ie. xxxxxxxx,yyyyyy#
So when I goto my dialled history, I only see the number dialled "xxxxxxxx". The histroy does not store the pass code and the entire dialled sequence.
Is there an app that will store this entire sequence in history by default?
thanks!

"x" is the phone number
"y is the passcode
"," comma is the 2 second delay
"#" hash is required to complete the dial sequence.
