amFilm screen protector review - Nexus 5 Accessories

I had one of the spigen glas screen protector s installed and it had the air bubble issue. So I'm never spending that much coin on a screen protector again, I just installed a amFilm protector on today it's flawless cutouts are perfect, and it feels great to the touch. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...1807&sr=8-2&keywords=nexus+5+screen+protector

Can you tell me, does it fit nicely with a case? I just applied a caseology protector with a caseology case and believe it or not they're not very compatible. The screen protector seems to be just a smidge too big. The case fits perfectly, but I'm getting air bubbles on the 4 corners that aren't there without the case.

I have a spigen slim armor case it is perfect with this screen protector. The protector doesn't go all the way to the edge of the glass there is a tiny gap when centered perfect

how is it with fingerprints and dust? I have the ultra clear crystal on right now and smudging finger prints all over it

it gets fingerprints ,but seems no worse than touching the glass screen without it.

I have it and it is amazing. I'm typically not good at applying screen protectors, but amFilm's hinge method does it nicely.
I have a video if you guys want to watch it

When the phone/screen becomes warmer after some time do you find the screen protector becomes much less slippery?
I've noticed that with my Invisible Defender and it's annoying because when the phone is cooler my fingers glide easily but not when the phone heats up.

Never had that on the amFilm screen protector (at least for me). It's hard to tell when it's winter. Everything is cold in Canada lol

Just got mine.
I was always using steinheil/sgp screen protectors for the past 3 years, decided to try amFilm.
To my surprise I got 4 in a pack instead of 3.
Installation was super easy, tho I misaligned from the first try, but simply took it off and reapplied.
All cutouts are exactly in place.
I can barely notice protector on the screen, only feel it swiping down notifications (can feel cutouts for sensors and speaker)
Highly recommend it!
The only thing I would prefer to have tabs on the other side as I'm using peel back application method and it's easier to start from top side to get a perfect alignment.

Diztronic and screen protector

Hey guys just received my matte black diztronic case from amazon! Love it. But like others here have mentioned the zagg HD screen protector doesn't play so nice with this case so I have 2 questions.
1) I am currently using the screen protector that came with the case and the edges don't seem to stay down. And tricks to getting them to lay flat?
2) Do you guys think its necessary to use a screen protector with this case and if so which ones would you guys recommend to use that would fit with this case?
I can post some pics of the case if anyone wants. Have the pebble blue gs3 but I think there's already been quite a few posted.

I don't have my diztronic case yet but maybe you can tuck the screen protector under the case lip?
I would definitely use a screen protector. I've already managed to scratch my screen somehow. Gorilla glass 2 is not scratch proof.

I purchased the Diztronic black matte case with screen protector also. How are your sides not staying down with that screen protector? The included screen protector is a protector that doesn't extend all the way to the edges. I had the same combination on my phone and I had no problems.
I'm now using the Body Glove tpu case with a Reearth screen protector. This combo has been the best so far. Be sure you don't use any wet application screen protectors with a tpu case. They do not play well together and the edges of the screen protector will start to bubble up as the tpu case edges push against the screen protector edges.
Also, most dry application screen protectors for this phone do not extend to the edge of the phone because the edges of the phone curve downward. So if you have a dry application screen protector that extends to the edge, then chances are you will have a problem with the edges staying down as a result of the downward curve of our phone around the edges. There is a company currently manufacturing dry application screen protectors designed to fit the the downward curve of our phones along the edges, however these are currently in pre order.

To be honest I'm not sure why its not staying down. I have bubbles that go to the edge of the screen on the top left and it appears that the whole right edge of the screen protector is not down. Not matter how much I push it down it comes right back up. And I have the protector centered almost perfect on the screen so it shouldn't be because its sloping down because the other side is doing fine so well.
Anyone have any other screen protectors that work with this case? Or even wet ones that don't get close to the edge?

Glass-M Glass Screen Protector

hello guys
Just wanna let you know that the Glass-M Premium Tempered Glass Screen Protector, is now avilibale fot our Nexus 5. Iv'e used this for my xpiera Z and thought its was as good as the spigen, maybe even better because off the smooth edges.
i've ordred one, price is 17,99 $ and 5 $ for shipping. Will tell more about it when i'll get one.
http://theglass-m.com/collections/featured/products/glass-m-premium-tempered-glass-screen-protector-for-google-nexus-5
Those protectors are very good. A friend of mine using that for the iphone 5 for over two months.
But the big disadvantage: you cannot use a case with the glassprotector because the glass protector is too thick.
Hi, I just installed mine. I used the hinged method to install this screen protector on to my Nexus 5.
Here's a video of the hinged method http://youtu.be/dt9_fZDT-As
It works as advertised. Screen sensitivity is maintained thanks to its super thin 0.15mm premium tempered glass.
Interested in your feedback 3 months later OP
Has anyone got any more feedback on this tempered glass? Fit, strength, chip resistance, oleophobic coating etc?
Ordered One actually Ultra slim..didn't reached yet..!

Sorry for the late response as I have been following this thread and my 0.15mm slim Glass-M screen protector for my Nexus 5 shipped earlier today and it fits nicely. It is my first time putting on a glass screen protector, or a screen protector for that matter on. I used the hinge method and it fits almost perfect except that the earpiece cutout isn't that aligned but it's fine, what's done is done lol. I love the feel of it, pretty much feels like the OEM glass. I am using it together with a Ballistic Shell Gel case (the less beefy version of the SG MAXX without the belt holster) and it fits fine, no interference though it feels a bit snug when putting the silicone and then polycarbonate backing on with the screen protector but nothing serious at all. I tested out scratching my keys on it with medium pressure and there were no scratches. I don't think I'd do anything harsher than that though LOL

Thanks for your feedback, one question I have is how does the oleophobic coating perform? Coming from Nexus 4 to nexus 5 I was immediately impressed with the coating on the Nexus 5 screen. If I am going to use a glass screen protector I would like it to also have good oleophobic properties.

Hi again! Yes, about the oleophobic coating, I feel it is decent, not amazing though. It will occasionally pick up some fingerprints but light presses on the screen (after washing your hands) won't leave any prints.

I received my Glass-M today...
It is my first tempered glass. 19.99$ US for the new 0.15mm
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/0-15...en-Protector-For-Google-Nexus/1500677869.html
I must say that I'm very impressed, the installation was easy, I had everything in the box (tempered glass, cleaning cloth, alcohol cloth, dust cleaning film, etc)
I can't compare to any other since it's my first one but it's very nice
it feels very smooth (glass) , no bubble or spider webs (yet),
my old screen protector was VERY fingerprint magnet but not this glass !!
it's cool !
here are some photos
Thanks, very helpful. I went ahead and ordered one
So can you confirm this thing have a GOOD oleophobic coating?
I tried so many different screen protector, glass or not, and so far nothing can match the coating that came from the phone manufacturer - it last much longer.
Spigen has a good coating. Closest I've used to not feeling a protector on at all.. Very good.

I'm using Glass-M, the thick one, since december or so.
It's really good, but it has some problems: I can't use some cases like Diztronic's (I don't know if I could with 0.15mm version), and the oleophobic coating is vanishing with time. Today I can notice more fingerprints than the first day.
I had just installed the 0.15 mm, one word, brilliant, very easy to install it not a single bubble, very thin is very hard to notice that is there the touch is very smooth and most important isn't a finger magnet, highly recommended. I am using it with the spigen ultra crystall shell case.:good:

Diztronic case with Spigen GlasT

Sup guys, I have the diztronic tpu case, which is awesome by the way, feels exactly like the nexus 5 itself without adding much bulk.
I was wondering if anybody tried this case with spigen glasT screen protector? Does it work?

You're good to go, I have a spigen protector on my screen & am using the diztronic case. You just gotta make sure you put it on straight/lined up.
The first time I applied it, it was a little crooked so the material was a little off the side, so the case made that bubble type effect on the corner. I peeled it off quickly & reapplied it & it has been perfect ever since.
I have earrings & I like that the screen protector still isn't scratched up like others.

Do you have the glas.t or glas.tr? I would imagine that it might be better to put the protector on with the case on. That way it can center itself inside the frame of the case.
The diztronic works fine with the MIME ghost glass. Can't even tell its there.

Would like to know this too!
The Diztronic case does not work well with the GLAS.tR. The case causes the protector to lift off the screen in areas.

Well its not perfect, sometimes the front of the case gets up against the glass instead of on top of the glass and I have to pull it over it. It did lift up the edges the first day, but now it doesn't. I did not put the case on after the glass for 6 hours. Then I put the case on and made sure it was on top of the glass and left it overnight. Had issues the next day lifting the edges, I just kept pushing it down and since then has been perfect. The thinner mime feather might be better for the case but I'm happy.

Spigen ultra fit and the screen protector that came with it
The case is too tight and scratch the left top corner. My advice is to keep the case on and never take it off. Or use a soft case like a tpu.

Case took only a few days to get used to and it's worth it. Helps when the materials are soft touch as on the Fusion Hybrid.
The screen protector is nice having the piece of mind but the plastic ones can never be as smooth as glass.

Shellster case for my N5
Hi
I use this shellster case for my N5 and for still I have not used any screen protector on my N5 as it protects my phone completely it does not let the screen to touch surface even when I put it on the table even from the screen behalf...it has a 180 stand view that also makes me comfortable for media viewing in both mode in landscape and portrate and it also ensures the safety of my phone quite well too..so I like this case and would recommend too...the only thing I just need to update in it is to have some protection in the lower end as it is open from their...but that hardly effects as it covers the corners properly...so simply I have a case with a combo of Holster and Kick stand....So I just love it and quite happy with it.....
I was using an extreme guard screen protector...but it was coming up at the corners and looked pretty aesthetically displeasing so I took it off a few days ago.. the bare glass is so nice and smooth to the touch... I think I will let the Gglass do it's job until I have to run into my old nemesis quartz sand when I go to Florida this spring break

No case, no screen protector.
First we don't need a screen protector, the screen is hard enough to protect from friction.
Second you'll waste the original back of N5, course the touch feeling of any other case cannot be better than the skin like material.
That's my opinion:fingers-crossed:

Actually, the screen can very easily scratch, all it takes is a bit of sand or dust in your pocket. Glass is harder than steel, so keys are not a concern, but most sand is silicon, which is the same hardness as glass, and some sand or dust can even be corundum or diamond, and there is just no way to stop that from scratching any surface.

I think the case has the same feel as the phone itself, and stays true to the design.

Film Screen Protector for HTC 10

What are good film screen protectors for our device? With full coverage and proper cutouts. Clear and not soft.
Looks like there won't be any decent tempered glass option, so I'm starting this thread.
This is what I use, and I am happy with it.
I did figure out that it was polarized the other day when using my 10 for navigation in my car. I could not see it in portrait with my sunglasses on. I had to either turn my head or rotate to landscape to be able to see the phone display.
EDIT: The screen is polarized *Not* the screen protector

Spigen crystal is pretty good. I tried a couple of TGSP's and they sucked really bad so I turned to the PET film from Spigen. It's really thin, clear, and precisely cut. It could be a tiny bit wider, but it does cover the viewable area. It feels pretty decent for a film (not a lot of friction) and you can barely tell it's there. $7.99 for a 3-pack on Amazon.
I second the Spigen Crystal Film screen protector. I've been using it and it's done a decent job so far. Not as nice as a TGSP would be in regards to feel but decent smudge/fingerprint resistance.
Post some pictures of your phone with the Spigen film?

I've Spigen Crystal PET screen protectors were my go-to before tempered glass became the norm, so I'll probably be pretty happy with them (although I will miss the feel of glass)
Spigen Crystal
Fitment is perfect at the top of the phone. Could be wider but otherwise it's awesome.

This is the first picture I've seen regarding the fit of this screen pro. Cheers!
I'm using the Spigen crystal too; unless the light is just right, it's hard to see it at all.
The surface is less 'slippy' to the finger than the glass, but having used a similar protector (not Spigen) on my old phone, I find it familiar.
Definitely a much better fit than any of the tempered glass protectors.
However, I've noticed that it's much thinner/flimsier than the older Spigen Crystal PET protectors.
I split a 3-pack with two buddies of mine with the HTC 10, but unfortunately I think mine warped slightly during install:

Sent an e-mail through asking for a warranty replacement - we'll see if they are willing to replace it.
Other than that warp bubble, I'm pretty happy with it overall. Not as slick as glass, but does the job.

I found your post! I love your reviews, keep em coming !
I have the spigen based on comments here and I don't like it. The adhesion is poor and I already had to replace my initial protector after a week, not to mention its a little tacky and not smooth, and looks wavy and uneven under light. As far as dimensions are concerned its good, I just wish it lasted longer than a week.
Another vote for the spigen. Applied properly, mine has no bubbles and is not wavy. Also, the comments about it being too small are incorrect. It is sized perfectly for the flat part of the screen. At the edges on all sides the glass on the 10 is beveled. If the screen protector went to the edges there would be bubbles or the protector would peel off.
I just placed an order for the zagg film.
Ill report back when i receive it
Just received in the mail the spigen crystal screen protector, and incipio NGP case. Both fit perfectly! The screen pro fit as close to the edge as possible, and no issues with edge lifting while putting the case on the phone! After installing the screen pro there are very small little waves which I've seen on other screen protectors, which disappear within a day or two..
Prior to this film protector I tried the nillkin glass and was a horrible fit. (I did receive a refund for it however..)
I am now content with case and screen protector!
Cheers,
I installed Spigen crystal film, it could be 2mm each side wider but I dont mind. Its not bad.

I don't know if you figured this out yet, but it is your screen that is polarized, not the film protector you applied.
For some reason, the Tianma display panels are polarized. Probably for enhanced viewing in sunlight, is my guess.
