Hi guys,
more than 2 years i search for a slowmotion app like i saw long time ago on the Samsung GT-8500 (Wave 1 with Stock bada).
It worked really well but i searched and test some apps for HTC Desire ...but none worked really well.
Now im using a GT-9300 and hope their should be a cool application ?!
Please give me some tipps or examples!
Using atm ROM:
CM/AOKP based
...dont know if stockrom support this feature on camera app.
Thx Pritti
I am not sure about a specific app but there is a camera app from note 2 with fast and slow recording capabilities.. Search that in this same section..
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
But is it really possible to use Stock apps on ASOP Roms? Because some stock features are nice ...but the hole touchwiz concept sucks!
Few apps might work but I guess this Camera app won't work on CM or AOKP.. Sorry, I missed that point..
Noone there who know or want that feature in AOSP Rom?

Try the note 2 camera app..it has a slow and fast motion recording. However, it is for samsung based rom only afaik.

Thx but the note2 stock application already be mentioned!
There is a slow motion app on the market. It is called Controlled Capture. It is available in Lite (free) or Pro (costs $2.99 US). There are some videos on YouTube that were taken with it under the names: "Water Drip Slow-Mo taken with Android Phone" and "Lighter Slow-Mo taken with Android Phone". Sorry can't do outside links due to newbie-ness.
Hello there I'm running a costum rom on my gnex (maguro revolt) and the 4.2 camera is cool but lacks a lot of cool features like burst mode or camera effects ( I don't want to use third party camera apps) so is there a camera that can replace the stock camera or add some cool features , or maybe an s3 camera flashable zip
Thank you
Good luck with that...I haven't seen a port of any of the galaxy cameras, they're dependent on touch wiz framework and device specific drivers to function. There are some great 3rd party cameras that easily replace stock and do all the things you want. Or you could try the old miui camera (which I am partial to and works well on gnex). Download one at http://db.tt/7esIix13

There is a zip for the cm voice shutter camera somewhere on xda but you should check with the Dev of the ROM your using if it works as some ROMs don't like it and make the camera f.c

Is there an extracted camera application from cm 10 that u can post? Or a link maybe
Thanks for your help
I'm sorry,I guess I didn't understand your original question. Are you looking for the cyanogenmod version of the 4.2 camera? Because, it seems to have all the features you want.
Edit: here's one from yesterday's nightly. Push it to /system/app and fix permissions to match other files. Since your ROM is at least partially based on cm, you shouldn't need any other files. You can install right along side the stock camera. Be aware that cm camera had no photosphere. http://db.tt/Ns24GuyZ
Your first answer was quite helpful but I need a camera which is stable and fast and has cool features, a cm 10 camera would be okay.however if u can provide me a link from which I can flash, I would be thankful
Gotcha...here's a flashable zip of the same apk: http://db.tt/bUC4ps9L

Let's get clear on topic:
GalleryGoogle.apk 1.1.40001 on JellyBean 4.2 Introduction, first generation of Photo Sphere, been working on multiple devices since then..
GalleryGoogle.apk 1.1.40012 on JellyBean 4.3 Introduction, prior to this thread it crashed after taking first photo under Photo Sphere mode on endeavoru running HTC Sense 4+ & 5. AOSP have no problem, though.
What's new in Photo Sphere on version 1.1.40012:-
The Photo Sphere team worked incredibly hard for +Android 4.3, so there are a few big quality improvements that you're going to love!
First, alignment and stitching are much better, giving you more level horizons and fewer errors throughout the image. While environments with lots of moving things are always challenging, scenes like the one attached here with a long flat horizon are now much better.
Second, we've improved exposure compensation for each individual frame, producing a beautifully exposed photo sphere. You can compare this to the previous versions that produced gray areas and inconsistent coloring in areas of high contrast (near the sun, horizons, buildings against blue sky, etc.).
Thank you to the incredible team of engineers that I work with who really make it fun and inspiring to come to work every day!

Step 1. Download and extract com.google.android.gallery3d_1.1.40012.part*.rar
Step 2. Flash photosphere_library_patch.zip through recovery.
Step 3. Install com.google.android.gallery3d_1.1.40012.apk on phone normally.
FAQ:
Bouncy landscape on Photo Sphere viewfinder.
All I can tell is the app doesn't my panasonic gyro scope.
90° rotated landsccape on Photo Sphere viewfinder.
Known issue on endeavoru since .40001, simply switch between modes it will resolve itself.
A blink of artifact while finish capturing Photo Sphere.
No harm, either deal with it or remove the APK.
My advise on Panorama.
Endeavoru suffer poor performance while scanning panorama, wrost case scenario may be system not responding.
Since it had no advantage over stock, you shall opting HTC camera for Panorama instead.
How to completely uninstall?
Uninstall the APK, then remove system/lib/libjpig.so through file explorer.
I'm not Endeavoru owner, can I use it?
If you have a device running HTC Sense 5, the answers is most likely positive.
For others manufacturers' devices, it's hard to tell.. Worth a try, though.

I would like to express my apologies to Joint Photographic Experts Group for renaming libjpeg to libjpig
Reserved for murmuring.
It all begin with introduction of a newer version 1.1.40012 eventually broke GalleryGoogle compatibility on Endeavoru (and tegra devices).
Despite minor 0.0.00011 version bump in numbers the update actually packed in bunches of improvements , unforunately our beloved tegra is complaining.
Logcat: F/native (13549): image_transform.h:27 Check failed: resizer.Resize( ... )
The crash thrown from the burdensome native library lightcycle.so right after each time first photosphere photo taken.
P.S. LightCycle is the codename of PhotoSphere.
Meanwhile we must have native libraries embedded along the apk ready to be loaded from system in order to let the app up and running properly.
For instance .40001 had 3 native library, .40012 carried pretty impressive amount counting 27 libraries.
Among one of them is libjpeg.so, you can get to known what is it about straight from the name.
The libjpeg.so conflicted with another version used by our system libraries, libjpeg.so used on tegra devices suspected including proprietary sauces for hardware acceleration on pictures encode/decoding.
Replacing it on a tegra device will render your android with crashing loops because of JPEG. If you try to take a photosphere after replacing it, photosphere works..
However there is no excuse to keep it on your system will ever stoping crashes simply it can't process images, you can't see most of them either.
After identified root cause, I was able to came up with a little hacky solution altering lightcycle.so to look for libjpig.so[A rename & edited version of libjpeg.so from GalleryGoogle] instead of original libjpeg.so on tegra system.
Somehow Android jni interface will refuse to load libjpig.so from data app path, let us no option but adding libjpig.so into /system/lib/.
I suspected the situation occured because the libjpig.so is invoke by lightcycle.so directly and not a nativelibrary load through app.

Concluding what I'd done in simple.
Extract GalleryGoogle v1.1.40012 from latest Android 4.3 firmware of HTC One Google Play Edition.
Make lightcycle.so re-point to libjpig.so instead of libjpeg.so to avoid conflict.
Rename libjpeg.so from GalleryGoogle to libjpig.so plus giving it a new soname.
Repack the apk embedding all 27 native libraries to avoid flooding them into /system/lib/. Still need libjpig.so to be there, though.

In fact, I already do that. All native libraries is embed inside the apk.
Just updated post #2, the reason why it cannot be a full standalone package is well stated there.
What's the point? Any benefits over the stock camera and gallery? Screenshots weren't much help.
Gotta try this one.
I installed it and it works, the panorama and regular photos turn out Ok. The only problem is when I try to take a photosphere, the first couple of shots are aligned but after a while the composed image starts spinning without me moving the phone, it's like a slow drift that makes impossible to get a 360°. Anyone else has this? Is it software related or the phone sensors could have something wrong?
I've tried recalibrating everything but there is no improvement.

what's up with part 1 and part 2 in the downloads...? I'm on ARHD 31.3, and there's no mention how or why to use the parts.
Quick Note on Kitkat
So it's KitKat time.
What changes? Gallery and Camera are now seperated respective packages, previously the was under single GalleryGoogle.apk
com.google.android.gallery3d 1.1.40304
com.google.android.GoogleCamera 2.0.001 (893803-30)
They will provide you a Gallery and a Camera, installing either one is fine but they are slight dependency on each others.
You will need both, so make things it simple.
You will also need the new Play service 4.0 to be able view Photo Sphere through updated Gallery.
The same libjpeg.so trick I applied on previous version still work so now here is a updated version.
Previous patch works fine, an update to date version is always advisable.
Since they came under Nexus 5 as system apps and has been splited into two, that mean harder to tracker down native libraries.
Almost certainly I missed some libraries on both packages, thus not everything works for now
Good news is Photo Sphere works fine, however you will get empty result for the Photo Sphere tutorial.
Meanwhile I said we wait for GPE devices' OTA to see if they are distributing unstripped version of apk like before. Everthing will be easy if there are libraries embedded inside... See ya~
Flash the patch_1.1.40304.zip & Install the apk as usual.
Grab all necessary file here..
Camera app still FC when selecting Photosphere
this will work in a original rom?
ok guys i know sense camera wount work on CM builds cuz it needs sense libs and framework
but is it possible to port the app with its libs like @Rizal Lovins did on the Xperia media apps here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2059203
Great Question and Topic.
Me too, for almost 1,5 years always search and stayed alert for someone that create something, so we could have Sense Camera and Sense Keyboard on other ROMs (AOSP, CM,...).
The only feautures that I miss, since I changed to AOSPs/CMs ROMs.
I already request if possible, a Sense Keyboard Module on Xposed Framework thread forum.
The only method I know, was some Developer that I cant remenber The name, sorry, that create an app named "clicker", and after install that, flash Sense keyboard on recovery and worked.
I think that APP "clicker" had some libs and components of the sense framework, so the sense keyboard could work.
The problem is "clicker" only work on old versions of Android, I think if remember well, on JB cannot work, kitkat neither too =) lol
The other developer that one day tell me that was not impossible to port Sense camera to AOSP ROMs, was KernelDev101.
I ask her because she ported Touchwiz camera to Cyanogenmod here.
She tell me that with hard work she and her team could maybe make too the sense camera port, not impossible.
But unfortunelly her Xda account was disable or she close the account, do not know why =(
So me wish too, to have Sense camera on all types of roms, to Desire HD, because until nos I think all users and developera think that is the best camera to our device, because is the only that can work better with original blops and hardware inside our phone from htc.
Alternative , and maybe you already know that too, the best cameras to replace the quality of Htc sense camera, that I have read on all reviews, foruns and opinions all users and Devs, since many research months, lol, are:
Camera FV-5
(Best quality similar DSLRs.
But many manual controls/config, without auto config, or presets, this is more Professional and not easy for beginers)
Focal camera (Cyanogenmod new camera but still on development, not work very well on DHD)
ProCapture
(Pro version PlayStore)
"A better Camera"
(From Almalance on PlayStore) discover and test today, because read on Xperia foruns.
LgCamera Pro
Version 6.4 or 6.5 beta
Camera Zoom FX
(On Play Store too)
Lenovo Camera
(a port version that you can install on our device)
And port camera versions of SGS4 and HTC One Google Play Versions for our device.
But I think not work so well.
A port version of Sony xperia Panoramic Camera also I read that is one of the best to Panoramas shots.
And for Burst Shots, I think after the Sense cameras, the best for DHD is:
Fast Burst Camera
&
Ultra Burst Camera
(Both on Play Store and same Developer)
Sorry for the long post, lol, and the errors, because is fault of keyboard sometimes, and english not my native language =)
Hope I help something, for a thanks button Lol
Thanks and Cheers
And Merry Christmas =)

From all cameras i try nice variants give LG Camera (the only one with focusing in video) and FV-5 Camera. Also, camera from Moto gives awesome ptohos, but dont catches video.
Yes, I forgot to tell that.
From all cameras I previous listed, all you can try and choose the best you like more for your taste.
But for Video mode, the only and Best one to record is LgCamera Pro.
Is the best and only you can choose on settings, video frame rate, bit rate, video and audio encoder type, focus while still recording, and many many more...
Cheers to all, continue to give more sugestions.
We want sense camera or another one that can use the closed Htc hardware components.
This is, we just wish the Best of best, Camera app quality possible for our Desire HD

So because of that you are Senior member, and I am just a member on profile stats =) lol
You are not a noob, don't say that =)
Guys continue to post ideas or any of Great developers here can port HTC sense camera to AOSP please.
We can collect donations for that project =)
One more thing Phoenix on internet, I not remember which site, search on google, is already a petition to ask for Htc give us and to our developers all blops and closed framework of Desire HD open source.
If Htc listen that petition and made open source or give access to developers, our devs can use our hardware and closed sensors of our camera to made the port or even a better camera than Htc sense. =)
Cheers friend, and thank you

I really love the stock camera app that is pre installed on the Find 7. I did find it sad that once I tried installing a new ROM like AOSP or Cyanogenmod, I lost the camera app with special features. Features as 120 FPS or GIF Animation etc are all gone. Is there a way to return the app back to such ROM or is there a similiar app that does the same kind of tricks?
Normally stock cameras won't work on any custom roms, there's dependencies and blobs from stock that would need to be ported over, It would be awesome if someone would be able to do this, the stock camera app was pretty sweet.
I would love to have this feature, I like the Google camera app, but it's nowhere near as powerful as the colorOS one.
Subscribed to this thread... Simply to expect some very kind developer would be kind enough to port Oppo Stock Camera App to be able to run on AOSP custom ROM or on CM12 with Lollipop...

Almost impossible to work it out for AOSP.
Sent from my FIND7 using XDA Free mobile app
Exactly the reason why am not flashing other ROMs as the camera feature is important as it is being used for work and leasure. I tried so many ROMs since my S2 days, however, after weeks of experiencing the Camera of the Find7a, and comparing it with CM and other android , the Oppo version really nailed it for me. Have you tried the super macro? Lately, this was included in the COS V2.0.5Beta.
You can try this now on AOSP builds, it works on my Find7a CM12 as the OnePlus One is a "hardware copy" of our Find 7!

My situation is, I can take using ultrahd but when I look at the picture size, it was only 3-5 mb max which to me that it's not working , on colour os rom, it was usually around 9mb. And the picture itself is much sharper. For the slow shutter, it can go up to 30+seconds,but in reality it's only around 2 seconds. The picture end up really dark.
oh yeah, the mod and plugins need an update to suppor the new cm/oppo camera blobs including it's HAL for it to work on newer roms
