Is there? Pretty much every AOSP ROM has it as menu, and that pisses me off.
I'd much rather hold the switcher button for menu.
Help please
why does every single question i ask on this forum never gets answered? please help
ViperX has that option as a tweak, more of a sense Rom with the option to choose apex or nova launcher for aosp look and feel

Not just ViperX, every Sense ROM, including stock has that.
I want this for AOSP based ROMs, though, and I can't find a single one with this.
For now, all AOSP Roms use the appswitcher button as Menu, and long-press home as appswitcher. I think most people like it that way and that's why everybody have chosen to have it like that in their Roms.
I know you can change the button by yourself, but it will need a little hacking.
If you read in Tripnravers CM9 thread a couple of days back, someone explained how to do it..
I would like to know this aswell. Could anyone post how to do this?

Did you find anything? I really would like to know also, i want a slim rom (like asop) with the app switcher button intact. I would also like to know if it would be possible to use the recent apps in sense style. Thnx in advance!

It's intact, just hold it for like 2 seconds, can't be that much of an effort right? (imo)
The Domination cm9 rom has adjustable buttons in settings. So only aosp based rom that works for me. I'm a bit surprised that people need the menu button so much.

That is the legacy way though.
Google stated that the app switcher should be separate, and I want it to be like that.
Its not so much need. Its the way it has always been in android to long press home for recent apps. So that building from source you would have to modify it to have the sense style app switcher layout

But it's not like that anymore! The app switcher should be a dedicated button!
And it is NOT Sense style. It is ANDROID. Google says that it has to be like HTC did it.
Besides, is it too much to want to have the buttons do what they say?
I switched to Jelly Bean now, and I just don't know what to do.
...you know that you could simply open the the keylayout file which is located in /system/usr/keylayout with a simple texteditor
and remap the button yourself back to appswitcher?
In tgascoigne's thread he suggested just undoing via the file. It wouldn't make sense to feature the option on an AOSP build, but can see it making it into CM builds.

@SilverHedgehog:
Did you find anything yet? Im using the renovate rom with novalauncher. The app switcher button is still intact there, with a few sense options too. The rom.is around 300 mb. I asked the question in the rom thread but did not get a reply.
People, Android is OPEN SOURCE, so please stop wining about rather it would be better the way its being used by most ppl, thats not the android way people.
I am using adroid with the reason that u can customize ANYTHING.

@rbadal
there's the domination ROM, but that's all to my knowledge.
can't find anything else, sadly.
uhhhh.....way hot here eh?
Ok, let's try to re-start, thread has been cleaned, from now let's try to have a clean discussion, ok?
Did you try the RENOVATE rom? Im using that one on a daily base. I will try the domination rom.
Didn't try Renovate.
I'm on Jelly Bean right now, for which, sadly, I couldn't find a solution...
Does anybody know if such a MOD exists? I've searched XDA and the internet, but haven't found one. I know several ROMs have the option to unlink (AOKP, CM, etc) so it's possible to fix this in the source code of Android. I could flash a custom ROM of course, but I'm happy with Jelly Bean stock except for this single issue. I've found dozens of MODs for the power menu, color stuff and all, but surprisingly nothing for unlinking. Looking through Google I'm not the only one who finds the linking annoying.
PS: I also know about the ICS enhanced ringer control app in the play store, but I think having an app running constantly in the background just to unlink volumes with a workaround is rather silly. This should be fixed lower level imho.
Nobody?

Bump?
Just use CM or AOKP, as you've said, and both have options for that. And both have JB versions, the CM10 kangs from here are really nice.
Yeah it looks that's what I'll do.

Hi,
Is there an ATT TW Jelly bean rom that has the volume rocker music controls? If not, is there a zip I could flash to get this to work for a touchwiz JB rom? I tried the zip that was posted for the international version of the gs3 but it didn't do anything.
Thanks!

Any help? Is there an app that can be a temp fix?

No real answer for you, because I'm also looking for this. I enjoyed this feature on CyanogenMod, but now I'm on stock, and I would really appreciate having this feature back.
I wanted to know if its possible yet to tweak the sound on an AOKP or Cyanogen Mod 4.2.2 ROM to make it louder?
I like those better than Touch Wiz but I cant stand how the sound isn't as loud as TW.
Is this something that will never happen or is it a possibility?
If needed, I can try to work on it but I have no clue where to begin.
I wouldn't mind testing it out.
Let me know. Thanks!
There are apps to amplify volume if you really need it, but the volume has been fine on AOSP ROMs ever since dastin came around with 4.2

Anybody know how to make the volume louder on KK AOSP ROMs? I've seen mods for other AOSP ROMs that can be flashed to make the volume louder both thru the speaker and earpiece. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
