Hi Everyone,
New user to XDA, have been trying to find a uvle1 radio download for the better part of 2 days. Mostly only found broken links within old posts on the subject. I have viewed all the posts in regards to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024514 (free and permanent unlock etc) so this is not just me asking for help.
I know what I need to do to unlock my phone from Telus but no available radios makes it difficult. The full Tmobile ICS version with the UVLE1 continually fails while attempting to update via odin and CWN. Tried multiple times and no success.
I get into the menu to unlock radio but unable to do so. So if anyone can PM me a copy or a useful link it would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Allan

There is a Radios thread in dev section but I see the radio you need has broken links, here is a working link.

Almite, Excellent you are the best! If you lived somewhere near Canada I would buy you a beer since you saved me 50 bucks from Telus. Will post in Radios next time.

The reason it's failing to flash is because that radio is made for use with a 4.0.3 or 4.0.4 rom, if you are trying to unlock your device (my guess) you need to go back to a factory image of 4.0.3 or 4.0.4 stock rom, then you can flash that radio and it will allow you to unlock using a <#someNumberCode#> found in the free unlocking thread.

My touch has been unlocked by CoKe MFG 2.31 and can be flashed any other roms. But I can't use my internal GPS right now. After I was trying to change any other PRI and Radio by the guides, I haven't found any solution yet.
Now I flashed back my original Verizon Rom and found my phone can't make a call any more, and I failed to reactivate my Touch.
Could anyone help me?
Many thanks.

Please refrain from opening new threads simply to ask questions. Should you have any, please use the Q&A thread in this section. I have transferred your question over there. Thanks.
Hi
I have rooted my Hero and have a custom ROM installed but the GPS does not work and I use it all the time.
I have looked around the web and these forums on pulling the original ROM from the device but it is all to confusing. My wife has a Hero from the same carrier as I use. Is it possible to pull the original ROM off her phone and then I could flash it to mine and get back to original.
Sorry if this is a re-post.
Ta,
Ross

Yes I have tried all the RUU ROMs and they will not load on the phone.
You could visit HTC.com and download the original rom from there, it will work (but then, so should the roms the previous poster linked to).
Perhaps you can share with us, why flashing is not working.

Got a FTP site from the local agent, does not work they say there is a problem.
If I use the web site, it does not accept mine or my wife's serial number.
A friend just found a serial that works and it actually downloads - RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_2.73.405.5_WWE_release_signed_NoDriver witch is available in the Sticky.
Decided to try it again in case there was a download error. Same problem:
The ROM Update Utility cannot update your Android phone.

When i go to the HTC website and look for ROMs to download, there isn't any at all. I don't even see the page that asks for my serial number.
The HTC webpage is here : http://www.htc.com/sea/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=283&act=sd&cat=all
I used this site:

Sorry about the wrong forum. Maybe a mod can move the thread.
Are you saying flash the radio to fix the GPS issue or so that I can flash back to the old original HTC ROM?
You could try installing a standard build from here:
http://android.modaco.com/content/h...oms-radios-in-update-zip-format-for-gsm-hero/
Just wipe and install as usual from the recovery screen.
Some of them are even rooted, or you could root yourself after. That way you will have everything working and stable (including GPS) and also have the advantage of having root as well. Just a thought.
PS.I use HTC Generic 2.73.405.5 which I rooted myself (just seach xda for how to do this) and everything works perfectly.

what i am saying is:
i had this exact problem just yesterday: i could enable gps, but there was no icon in the statusbar, and position was not aquired by any app. no error in logcat. i tried to reflash mcr3.1 without wipe, nothing. wipe, then reflash, nothing. when i reflashed my radio it worked again, even after restoring my nandroid backup.
Can't you just get the official update in update.zip format and flash it from the recovery screen? That should work. Easy as that.
Or do a nandroid backup of your wife's phone and recover it on yours, though it probably doesn't work that simple because of serial keys inside the phone's hardware and stuff..

Perhaps you could explain why this OP is in the wrong forum ? If someone swaps to a custom rom, then needs help to recover in some way as a result, why should that not be asked here ? and if not here then where ?
Just asking
he has a problem and asks a question about it. comes to mind that the q&a (as in questions & answers) category might be the right, doesn't it?
since he is not developing anything, and that question is in no way related to develop anything it is for sure wrong in the development section. people tend to post here because they download the roms (which are obviously developed) from here, one more reason for a rom download subforum...
This thread contains the stock ROGERS firmware that comes with the GT-P1000R.
Andrew_Low has provided a copy of his stock FROYO backup, which I tested on my tab and confirm that it is working. The kernel is rooted, other than that it is a clean ROGERS rom. For further details on this refer to post 2.
He was also able to capture the GINGERBREAD update (which I have not tested as of yet, any testers please post your results).
This is the stock update available from KIES. For further details on this refer to post 2.
Many thanks to him for this, if it helps you, hit his thank you button. If you find this thread helpful as well, hit my thank you button.
Instructions on flashing are not provided. If you need these files it means you know how to flash your device, have flashed a custom ROM previously, and require this to return to a stock state.
As usual FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK, don't blame ANYONE here for ANYTHING.
PLEASE NOTE: The FROYO stock ROM is currently unavailable, will be back up soon.
Downloads can be found here
Further more, I would like to thank kpetrie77 for setting up a wiki on the Samsung Galaxy Tab, the wiki is full of great links for all things Galaxy Tab. You can find it here, and if you have anything to contribute please do so as it helps everyone here at XDA.
Thanks to theREDlegion for putting this together. Happy to try to help others both on P1000 series.
The FROYO version was rooted with SuperOneClick 2.2 - if you use this utility and unroot it will remove the superuser.apk and after a reboot, adb won't connect as root. Before you do that reboot, you'll want to remove the busybox binaries /system/xbin to reach as 'near a stock state as possible'.
The GINGERBREAD version was snagged from Kies during the update process. It seems the Check Fus Donwloader doesn't know about Rogers (but it knows about Bell?!).
Real life gets in the way for hacking, but I'm motivated to make the Tab (mine included) as useful as possible beyond stock.
Thank you. This will come in handy.

Sorry to respond almost a month later but I have not been checking my PM's regularly for the past little bit with so many other things on the go. It is better to post these kinds of questions in the thread itself, as this would help other members with similar questions. That is why I created the thread, and this is a good question to ask and answer in the thread. It is a REALLY GOOD QUESTION, that I'm sure others would be interested in and therefore I will post it in the thread. If you would like me to remove your username please contact me.
The Samsung Gingerbread release is not locked, it is signed. You CAN flash custom kernels and ROMs, DO NOT use the PATCH tool that Chainfire has provided, if that is why you ask, see that thread. That patch is an amazing tool provided by Chainfire, there is nothing wrong with the patch it just does not apply to us. If you use it, the tool will ask you to patch, DO NOT PATCH. You will screw things up with it and have to re-flash, re-stock and re-do everything just to fix it.
If you are uncertain if you should flash anything, than DON'T FLASH ANYTHING. Read, read than read some more before continuing any further.
These stock ROM's are not SamFirmware downloads, they are STOCK Rogers firmware from the device and from the update from KIES.

I haven't had the opportunity to restore a tab yet. One of these days someone will lend me one for testing and I will try test these files.
Looking at the files, these will need to be restored via heimdall correct?
Also looking for the Bell Froyo rom. Any suggestions?

Heimdall is correct.
Have not come across a stock BELL Froyo ROM (haven't even looked really). Will see what I come across and post back.
How to flash P1000R to stock Gingerbread
I wrote up how to take the Gingerbread firmware in the OP and flash it to your device.
http://lowtek.ca/roo/2012/restore-rogers-galaxy-p1000r-to-stock/
It's short and sweet. Ubuntu (Linux) as my desktop, heimdall as the flashing tool. Key is really mapping the files in the firmware to the heimdall partition names and getting through the boot sequence (flash, recovery and allow update, reboot).
Rogers CWM flashable modem UXJJ6
Following instructions found here http://androidforums.com/galaxy-s2-...t/540640-make-my-own-cwm-flashable-modem.html I created a CWM flashable modem of the Froyo Rogers ROM.
Why? Well, this modem didn't appear to be available in this form - so here it is as an attachment.
Hello there,
I am very new with Android phones and I have some questions if someone can answer me please.
I have done hard reset my Galaxy S3 couple days ago and I was trying to run "Video Hub".
"Video Hub" was giving me an error message that is "Device authorisation is failed"
Honestly, I do not mind that this app does not work but it really challenge me that the "Hard Reset" does not really clear all the information on my phone.
Here is my question.
1. Is there a way to re-format or re-install android OS on my phone? (something like returning to the beginnig of my phone when I bought it)
2. I have two ROMs (one is the Bell Jelly Bean ORIGINAL rom and Bell Jelly Bean ROOTED rom), using these ROM, can I re-install android OS without voiding warranty?
3. if my phone get "Bricked", using the Bell Jelly Bean ORIGINAL rom, can I unbrick my phone? (I saw some post that I need CWM? do I need to get additional file to download?)
Could please someone explain me? I am ready to learn new things but I need some basic knowledge. please help me...
Thanks, guys!
Device authorisation is failed
here is the link to earlier official firmware http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1968625 download the appropriate files drivers, and flashing software, no need to root no cmw you will be able to back to orgional stuff.

Come on man this is simple. you shouldn't be flashing if you don't have a failsafe anyways. Look up the correct image/country/carrier for your phone and that is your backup. If you can get to Odin you can always get back to square zero
Thanks for the replay.

Hi, I need help please, here is question:
I bught my i747m a week ago, im from mexico and Telcel is the local carrier, Can something go wrong if a Install any official stock rom from another country?
I am using a Bell Galaxy S3 SGH i747M with baseband MVLUFNH2 looking to unlock this phone. I am currently under the impression I have to revert to jellybean to do this. Is this correct and if not can someone please point me in a definitive direction?
Once the phone is on 4.3 or newer bootloader, the only way to unlock the phone would be to purchase an unlock code.
I know that the regionlockaway app can be used for Bell/Rogers/Telus s4 but I haven't seen any method for the s3.

Ok Your post is confusing me in that it sounds like the second sentence hints that the regionlockapp can unlock a bell/rogers/telus phones for free even if on 4.3 for S4?
For the s4 from Bell/Telus/Rogers (sgh-i337m), you need to downgrade to stock 4.4.2, flash the stock 4.2.2 modem, root, run regionlockaway app, reflash stock 4.4.2 or 5.01 ROM. The s4 should now be permanently sim unlocked.
With the s3, certain modem/bootloader combinations can brick the phone so I don't know if regionlockaway will work on the s3 sgh-i747m.
God this is a nightmare i figured such an old phone would be easy to root and unlock and every damn lead I follow leads to a dead end.
I searched high and low for a free unlock method. I finally gave up because I did not want to take a chance and brick my phone by trying to downgrade the modem, rooting, and installing regionlockaway. Unlock code was $15.
I'm not too great with this stuff anymore but why can't a good coder edit the files within and unlock it simply by flashing the edited file? In the end its all code right?
I'm on 4.4.2 running an old cyanogen nightly. I purchased an unlock code and when I type it in it says Network Unlock Request Unsuccessful. Any Ideas?
You need to be running a stock dialler in order to enter the unlock code which means you need to flash back to stock or flash a custom rom built from a stock rom.
I did manage to sim-unlock an I747M with 4.3 version of Android (build JSS15J.I747MVLUEMK5) -- or, at least, it doesn't show the "enter network unlock code" anymore... via ServiceMenu, perso SHA off, and NV rebuild/restore; procedure is described elsewhere on the forum. No such luck with 4.4.2 (tried downgrading -- no go)
Now -- an assumption: since there are various remote USB unlocking services on-line, claiming success remotely unlocking the I747M with 4.4.2, someone -- and likely more than one -- here on XDA knows how this is done. I've been trying to piece together the procedure for it, going through pages and pages of discussions, not finding much.
I'd like to appeal to those who know -- please share the knowledge, or at least point in the right direction those of us who want the DIY solution...
cheers
You sim unlocked the i747m that was running stock 4.3 using a hidden menu? That would be great news. Did you try inserting a sim card from another carrier and connect to their network?

I tried inserting a few non-registered/old SIMs from a variety of carriers (incl. european); the phone did not produce "Network lock code" prompt, and just reported "unregistered SIM", just like a _known_ (i.e., tested in the field) SIM-unlocked phone I have.
If you are able to get a sim to try connecting to a network, other than the original carrier, let us know. Thanks.
I rooted my old milestone many years ago but havee been keeping my devices stock ever since, until today that is. Today I decided I wanted to try to root my Samsung SGH-I747M with Telus and everything seemed to start off smoothly. Once installed the SuperSU stopped working. I tried fixs I had read online such as updating the app, but this did not work. I read on a forum that you could flash something to disable know to help fix the problem. When I tried going this avenue I was not able to reboot my phone. I tried restoring from a backup taken before flashing, but I havent done any of this in so long im not entirely sure the backup took properly. At one point I got a message saying no OS was installed but after restoring this seemed to go away. I apparently do not remember anything about rooting from my milestone and am hoping someone may be able to help me get out of this mess. I am currently downloading the stock firmware and I think I will try flashing it tomorrow. I also was hoping someone could point me in the direction of a thread on xda that went into a more detailed explanation of how rooting works, what specifically roms and flashing all is and does. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Well that info is already in the Sticky Index. Understanding what you're doing (or about to do) is really important but you gotta start reading, it's all there.
OS, firmware and ROM are the same thing.
When your phone boots, it basically goes: Bootloaders -> Kernel -> ROM (OS).
The kernel has pretty much all the "underground" controls (RAM, Mhz, governor, scheduler, BT, Wifi, etc).
I won't write everything but those are the basics.
Also, having a Canadian variant of the S3 (that's what the M is for), doesn't change much other than flashing bootloaders and stock ROM (which you'll wanna use the Canadian variant bootloaders and Telus ROM for stock). Everything else is basically the same.

Sweet I will definitely check that out. So I did flash twrp to my phone. Is it possible that I flashed the version say for the i747 but not the m version and that is why the phone wont move past the samsung screen? Also should I attempt to get rid of twrp before flashing the stock firmware. This should answer all my questions and then I will explore the stickies some more.

If flashing a stock ROM, flash the Telus one. If flashing a custom ROM, it doesn't matter (I747 or M variant), as long as it's D2LTE.
Your recovery doesn't change anything to flashing with Odin, it will overwrite it.
Flashing the stock firmware fixed my problems. Thanks for all of your help and I will definitely be checking out the links that you sent me before trying to root again tomorrow.
