Any way of using S-Pen with Google Keep? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My wife has a Galaxy Note 2, and wants to use the S-Pen for handwriting notes with Google Keep. The S-Pen doesn't seem to be natively supported however. Is there any way to enable this??

Unfortunately the app developers have to incorporate that. .. so got to wait till Google updates keep for s pen

Click the more services app in your app drawer. It links directly to the Samsung app store with the video maker and photo editor.
If not, in the Samsung app store its called video editor and not video maker.

Why wasn't it included by default, is it now a paid app?
Is it the same Video Maker app that was in the Note1? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1913544
Additionally can anyone in the US confirm this?

Sounds like many would love to see a YouTube video of it on the Note2 & .apk linked up..
Install the app called "Movie Aid" from play store.

http://www.samsungapps.com/topApps/topAppsDetail.as?productId=G00008447048 but that "Video Editor" app only lists the S3 under "See available device" (& does not look like the "Video Maker" app from the intl Note1)?

Forgive my ignorance. But what additional features would the video maker app provide? From memory on my gs3 it would only give you some crappy borders. We can still trim videos with note2.

Yes.
Thats what I would like to know too
I am trying to install "video aid" instead.
WOuld this be even better than the Samsung "Video Maker", cause I have never use that samsung app before.
Thanks a lot

Pen input in videos: Intl Galaxy Note1 Review Part 7 - Movie Maker with S Pen!
I was really hoping to be able to utilize pen input in videos on the Note2 as the US version dropped the app due to chipset incompatibility.. Shouldn't this be a default app-doable on the Note2? - Thnx
I can't see the photo editor or the video maker in the s selection or samsung apps
Can anyone post a link to the .apk file for Video Maker? Seems that in US Samsung App store does not have that app available.
Thanks,
I tried to install the Videoeditor.apk from my note 1 titanium backup, but it force closes at start.

Disappointing but not entirely surprising..Thanks for trying it debernardis. You tried the following http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5fmfQrWJxg right?

From what I find out Video Maker is available but hidden for some of the countries. If anyone in the country that has Video Maker in the samsung app store would back it up with TT and post a link to backup file that would be great.

tablet apps in the play store that aren't available to install?

just got an n7. like it a lot but one thing is confusing to me... why do some(actually, a lot) of the tablet specific apps in the play store show as not available to install? example... bank of america has a tablet app but i'm forced to install the phone one instead.
am i missing something obvious?

Search these forums for phablet, Google's odd solution to the bigger than a phone but smaller than a tablet interface. In some ways you get the worse of both worlds instead of the best. The search will turn up all sorts of info on the way folks feel about it.

Isn't there a way to trick the market to give us full tablet apps?
Google for a app called lucky patcher. It can patch play store. Never used it myself. So backup your device.

You can just search here at XDA for a useful thread that provides various special versions of the Play Store. You can install one that will force everything to be for a certain dpi value or to ignore dpi or many other options. I have a special version on my Dell Streak that I got from here.

Need help finding the best possible pdf reader/annotator

So far I'm not having much luck finding a pdf annotating app I like. I've tried iannotate and ezpdf reader which either crash often on me or load pdfs and page turns slow as balls.
Anyone out there find something that works great? I don't care if it's a paid app as long as it's fast.
I use ezPDf. It has been consistently the best for doing everything from highlighting to written annotations.

Was reading that Polaris will let note devices annotate documents now. Just click on the plus sign with stylus and select free draw.

Same here on my Note II (basically the same hardware and 4.1.2). Works good for me. I haven't received my Note 8 to try it yet...waiting for the 3G version.
Maybe you have another app or process running that is conflicting or causing lag? I uninstall any apps that I don't use on a daily basis and don't use live wallpapers. My Note II is rooted, but running the stock ROM.

Qpf Notes is the best I have tried and used. I use it on my note 2 every day. I use it to note site maps created from google maps, coolect signatures, fill in diocuments, note existing documents for future changes, and besy of all it has allowed me to be completely paperless in a paper dependent company.. It is perfect for me. Very well supported with updates and improvements. It is a paid app, but if you need somerhing capable of doing this tge price is very low. I love it.
Good luck

You do that after annotating, tap it again and you get a context menu.

I bought QPDF, RepliGo, EzPDF...
None they all look the same, but I found EzPDF rendered each page faster than everybody else.
RepliGo was better designed, but every page showed up blured at first and then it would finish rendering.
QPDF have a weird scroll system, but it loads multiple pages at once
So i'm sticking with EzPdf for now
Annotating PDFs
Hi guys,
I have just released a new slim pdf annotation app that targets those of us who want to annotate while we are reading documents. This app is not for note taking (for those who need that I recommend Papyrus).
My app is the slimmest PDF reader, with pen and marker annotation, I have seen. It is easy to use, and it allows you to annotate and highlight as you read. Exactly as you do on paper. It is extremely easy to switch between the pen and the marker; and to toggle colours.
Also – the app recognizes the difference between your finger and the stylus. Fingers are used to move, zoom and erase. The stylus is used to annotate.
A free version of Stylus Annotator is available on Play. Please try it and rate it.

As far as I am aware, you cannot sideload the Googletts.apk because it will just force close. I have no idea why Samsung didn't include Google TTS, as their tts is so terrible. You will just have to install SVox for now until someone comes up with a way to get GoogleTTS on the phone. Personally, I'm waiting for Cyanogenmod to come out. I can't stand TouchWiz
I went to the Samsung app store and downloaded an HD voice made by Samsung for free. Its got Google tts but it sounds a hell of a lot better.

[Q] best keyboard?

What is the best keyboard on the Note4? Also why I can't download the google keyboard from Play Store? I'm using Swiftkey but isn't smoother like google keyboard..
I use kii keyboard. You wont find it in the app store anymore for some reason. However a quick Google search will lead you to the APK. By far the best app I have used. And I have tried almost all of them. Smooth, numbers on top row if you want, key shortcuts (I.e. r =are) and many more options.
Just try it. I guarantee you will be satisfied.
Sent from my SM-N910V using XDA Free mobile app
Not sure why you can't download it from the Play Store, I was able to. I just received my replacement device and tried the stock keyboard out for a whole afternoon before I switched back to Google's.
I think the Google keyboard is best, it's been my favorite for years. I was able to download it just fine.
Swift key.
