Did this get solved I'm having this problem too. I don't want to hear Samsung's tts on my navigation

As far as I am aware, you cannot sideload the Googletts.apk because it will just force close. I have no idea why Samsung didn't include Google TTS, as their tts is so terrible. You will just have to install SVox for now until someone comes up with a way to get GoogleTTS on the phone. Personally, I'm waiting for Cyanogenmod to come out. I can't stand TouchWiz
I went to the Samsung app store and downloaded an HD voice made by Samsung for free. Its got Google tts but it sounds a hell of a lot better.

Voice Actions Plus will not give me any sound output. I also downloaded SVOX Classic and the SVOX Grace voice pack and updated my TTS settings but still can't get the sound to work. Any ideas?

I came across this problem, but i managed to fix the issue by installing the free version as well. Because the free version worked for me from the start, but make sure to use the free version of the app, there wont be any ads or anything because you have purchased the full version.

It works for me, thanks!
Changing to US language didn't work for me. I had to defrost it in titanium backup, then it started working.
Thanks.
Is there any other apps that need defrosting? Google Wallet?
...
To answer my own question. I found the option to show frozen apps in titanium backup
So for the UK frozen were:
Google Ears - Sound Search
Google Play Magazines 1.0
Wallet 1.1-R67-v5

I got it to defrost both Google Ears and Google Play Magazines. I already had Google Wallet working Anyways, when I go to open Play Magazines, it says to look for mags in the Play Store so I click it, but it doesn't list the Magazines topic. Any help with this?

Does these apps freeze again after a reboot?
In my phone they do. I honestly only care about Sound search. In Venezuela there's no use for Books, Magazines, Movies or Wallet.
But I'd like to have Sound Search permanently enabled.
I do have the phone set to US English.
Cheers!
Hi el_charlie,
same for me - after rebooting the widget is removed and I have to defrost it again.
Did you already find a solution?
Michael
Use Package Enabler from play store. It will automatically unfreeze those apps after a reboot

Does anyone have the official Bing app APK? I can't find it in the marketplace and I know it exists.

When in doubt Google search. Well, I guess now you can bing search. I just tested this on my att sgs2. Works fine. Enjoy!

Thanks, but that's not exactly a current version (it looks like it's from 2010). I'll use it for now, though.
You would find the new bing app on http://www.appbrain.com/app/bing/com.microsoft.bing, but it is not compatible with a routed ICS KF. So you might try to stay with the one the Amazon Appstore offers.
Has anyone figured out a way to get a bluetooth earpiece to open google now rather than the google voice dialer in Jelly Bean?? Not sure why google wouldn't have incorporated this, since google now seems to do all that the voice dialer does and more...
I'd like to know the same...

I just spoke to a google rep. He said that he would send the suggestion to their development team. We'll see if there is any follow up.
My GF has an iphone 4s and she wants me to add an app so we can skype or whatever. What does everyone recommend?

You can't ask better than Google talk built in your android device, which is connected to Google hangout and YouTube. Meaning you can video chat up to 10 people at the same time from any device. Pc via android via iPhone, etc. Plus you can watch YouTube together and share screen view and make effects. Best of all you can talk from Wi-Fi and lte. Everything is interconnected.

I like sidecar for the "see what I see" functionality. Does the same thing as all the others with the added ability to share what your camera see with the person you are talking to so they can "see what you see". Its pretty awesome...to me at least
The point is that it should be INTEGRATED and one button use... if you have to fiddle with everything and only us nerds can use it then we will never use it with the people who we really want to see during a conversation
