Yes just delete the Blade firmware inside with the exe and replace it with your own.
Any more technical information? How are there "3G updates"?
Just minor tweaks that I made at a personal level, like the rest of my kernel it is very personal. I try to balance performance enough for it to be smooth, as well as easy on the battery to last all day.

Because something smells fishy. The whole zip is 3 megs smaller than most kernels. You didn't explain these "background" processes and tweaks in this kernel. No info about what these network tweaks are or what they do. I wouldn't touch this with a ten foot pole.

There are no sources and no credit given for anything "included" in this tool, at this point in the devices life, I highly doubt there is anything original left to do to it, let alone all that you claim this tool does. The fact that it is solely in .exe form is worrisome, to say the least, as any tweaking can and should be able to be done via scripts, which do not require exe's to run.
This is supposed to make tweaks at a kernel level, sources and documented changelogs should be in place as well.
I don't like it, smells a little off.

Sorry Villain rom is down at the moment if you are having trouble getting the wonderful FROYD 1.2.1 here are some links

These are both for Froyd 1.2.1
OTA Update: FroydVillain 1.2.2 "GPS really needs a kick in the nuts"
VillainROM Updater app finally makes a return to the FroydVillain platform.
New in this update:
•Framework fixes for the GPSLocatorService that fix an issue causing a hang/crash when GPS was obtaining initial fix and location update.
•CPUSpeed no longer supports a screen off profile. See below for details.
•Updated lib_htcril.so to improve GSM switching, -should- also fix the people experiencing GPS+GSM not working.
•Kernel updated to fix some regression bugs in the USB stack, ARM code issues and to prevent the camera app clogging the IO bus.
•All the different OC kernels are now in the OTA app, just enable experimental updates to see them.
This OTA update clears the dalvik cache, as there are updates to the framework, so naturally your phone will take longer to boot.
We no longer support the use of a screen off profile with the interactive governor. It's really not needed. While it may make some difference to battery longevity, the benefits far outweigh the downsides. We're talking -maximum- a loss of an hour, over using a screen off profile. However you get the added benefits of:
Being able to use anything with the screen off without losing performance. For example phone calls, listening to music, etc.
Time for a brave new world of thinking, folks. Get used to the idea that it's better for the governor to accomplish a task as quickly as possible, then clock back down.
The other switch in thinking, is this. It's time we stop trying to work around whatever bull**** problem that apps on the market introduce by being buggy, crap or poorly designed. If we find there's an app or a widget that runs your phone at top clock all night, well, start giving the developer ****. We're no longer going to try and work around issues introduced into the OS by bad applications. Developers need to start taking more responsibility or face people not using their apps anymore.
Screen off profiles are a nasty workaround for this problem and it's going to go away, at least in FroydVillain. Your phone's performance should not be at the mercy of whether the screen is on or not. Having many frequencies in the table is a false economy because, and especially with the

This is a stock looking Rom with lots of tweaks. It runs smoothly. I would use it with Go Launcher. I have tested it with Synergy kernel and recommend it. This Rom comes with a new feature that is not completely ready. You can run it in terminal:
Code:
su
cd /etc/init.d
sh start.sh
sh fkturbo1.sh
This is not a completed rom but all the bugs I found have to do with the added scripts. All of the tweaks should work. Others will be added when I have time. I was hoping to get more done, but I started out in Notepad. It took me a day to remember that's why the script doesn't work. I hate Win 7. lol
Also, themes will be included when it is out of beta.
#NEW# FKTurbo v.2b
This feature allows you have a turbo in your phone. The higher the frequency goes, the faster and more powerful it will be. When completed, this will increase multiple settings towards performance when your phone is used heavily. It will automatically set them back to save power. It will be improved to remove all bugs and errors and work seamlessly with your phone. It is in beta, so I know there are some bugs that will be fixed. It will not activate on boot until it runs perfectly. I will add code to make it activate in a much smoother way in the next release.
Advantages:
-Easily switch to max power when you absolutely need it, automatically.
-Easily switch to power saver mode when you need good battery life, automatically.
-Go longer between charging by using extra power only when you need it.
-No more adjusting multiple settings to go from max power to max saver.
More new features as soon as this gets running right!

Installation with CWM:
1. Download the Rom and your favorite kernel. (Synergy,Bullet,Faux,Darkside) (fkturbo works in synergy, but I haven't checked others yet)
2. Boot into recovery. (Hold Volume Up/Down and power on)
3. Install the Rom first and then the kernel.
4. Reboot and allow it a few minutes on the first boot, then reboot. *No boot animation means that it will go blank for a long time at first boot.
Link to the ROM (4shared):

It is a very rough estimate of all the stuff that's in it. Data speed tweaks can potentially increase speed on networks. Scrolling tweaks makes scrolling smoother. Look in /etc/init.d/new2 or /system/build.prop for many of the tweaks. This is the old version, so the new one will have more stuff and a better explanation. Not all the tweaks are listed. There are many more to come!

The rest of the rom is working. It is version .4. I am still trying to perfect the code the new feature. I have lots of tests coming up (Bio, Chem, etc.), but I will try to get it perfected by the end of this week. This code is just a teaser that may have bugs in it. It will be updated. Thank you for your patience. Feel free to try it, but keep in mind that it may not work right just yet. If it messes up something, just run fkpower1.sh or powersaver.sh. fkpower1.sh is the better choice.
Code:

Good question!
This feature, which still needs some polishing, will allow you to save power when you are not using the phone heavily. It does this by modding the governor settings, which need some tweaking, and the voltage settings, which are being tested today.
When it senses that you are using the phone heavily, it will automatically increase the settings towards performance. As soon as the phone is no longer used heavily, it will automatically change all the settings to favor battery life.
This allows for a perfect balance between the power savings of undervolting, underclocking, and stiffening up the governor and the performance benefits of overclocking, etc.
This eliminates the need to decide between the full power of the phone and the ability to use the phone for longer between charging.
By the end of this week, I will have the settings tested (to make the power change smooth) and more steps between full power and full economy will be added. More settings will be adjusted by fkturbo by the end of the week. It may also be made more universal, but that will take longer than this weekend.
It is being updated to v0.5 for the rom and v0.3 for the feature.
So Ive lurked around for awhile and read all the drama and many threads that ask the same thing over and over. Before XP came out I was on the beta testing group and have written many reviews for certain computer hardware as well as one of the originals of a Microsoft forums start up board and today is one of the largest. I also started a web hosting business and 5 years later sold it for a nice profit. Basically I'm just giving you some past info on me..............
Now my plans are as follows:
Phone:
SGS2, With all common apps installed, wifi on, service on, sync with gmail/contacts. Every test will be setup as a daily used phone. Prior to every flash I will have a fully charged battery, will run that battery down to 0 (till phone shuts off), recharge and then run that charge down to 0. Screen time on will be around 3 hours which seems to be typical (That's my target time).
Prior to each flash I will do a nano backup. I will not be doing a titanium backup of any apps. All apps will be reinstalled via market after initial flash. The steps for each flash will be performed exactly as detailed below and no custom flashing will be done. Each ROM as provided by the dev will be the only thing used.
Steps:
1. Place ROM on ROOT of your SD card.
2. Boot into Recovery Mode
3. Do a NAND BACKUP
4. Flash DARKSIDE.SUPER.WIPE
5. Select perform factory wipe / Wipe data/factory reset
6. Navigate to mounts and storage and format /system
7. Under advanced, wipe dalvik cache+wipe battery stats
8. Choose to install zip from sdcard
9. Wait while the rom is being flashed
10. Fix permissions (for those roms that require this)
11. Reboot
12. Now wait 15 minutes, phone will not be touched
13. Reboot again
14. Wait another 10 mintues before starting setup
Benchmarking (On full charge):
1. I will run each test 5 times (1 test, reboot, 4 test (after each test "Clear Memory" in task manager).
2. The scores of each test will be added together and divided by 5 to give me the average.
3. The 2 benchmark apps will be AnTuTu and Quadrant Standard
4. I will take a screenshot after each test
ROMs:
1. [ROM] DARKSIDE DIGITAL WARFARE [v2.4]
2. |ROM|Paradox II|Paradise|3|5|12|
3. [ROM] Juggernaut v5.0
4. [ROM] slickMOD v3.4[SUPREME]
Reason:
We have so many variables in what can be or is the best rom but I haven't seen one person do a full test on multiple roms for a few days and spend time testing how they work or feel. Yes I know, one rom may act differently on one phone apposed to another but I'm not trying to build a rocket or crown anyone king. I want to give other users a base to start with.
Suggestions:
If anyone has any other suggestions or comments please feel free especially if I have overlooked a possible step some where.
In closing if you think I'm just a nut job and I'm wasting my time please tell me that also. Last thing anyone wants to do is think they are doing a good thing and come to find out it was for no good reason and/or wasn't helpful.
i think this is a fantastic idea for measuring raw performance. however, you also have to keep in mind each rom has its own features, look and feel that is different from the others.

Oh yeah I totally agree and each user has their own dislikes/likes. This is really only trying to measure the ROMs performance via battery life and benchmarking. Just a starting point for end users who come here,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1493097
I started something this already a while back. And haven't had time to revisit it. If you are going to go down this path, keep in mind the criticism from my thread. I still don't agree that the clock speed should be normalized for all ROMs. But running it multiple times might be a good idea.
Having all benchmark apps on sd would be ideal. That way you can install the apk without having to install any other app, thus keeping the ROM in as pristine state as possible. I only found 1 ROM that didn't come pre-loaded with a file manager. So I had to adb install the apk.
It took a lot of time to do what I did, with just a single run, but I thought the results are telling. Some ROMs focus on performance, others focus on battery life. So I think this still has a place.
I was going to revisit my thread this weekend, but it was because I didn't see anyone else (or I was not searching good enough). So if you keep this up, power to you.

Thanks man. You did get a lot of heat in that thread but I applied you because your base test is what I am after. The typical performance out of the box as the dev hands to a normal user. I won't be changing any settings on the cpu or anything else. The dev releases a ROM setup for a reason so there is no need to be changing it like others posted in your thread.
Ive said it once and I'm sure I will have to say it a dozen more times - Base test for roms out of the box on 2 benchmarking apps, battery and personal usage is what I am after.
Great idea!

cpu/undervolting
I really like the idea of testing multiple roms one after another on the same device. It would be the most accurate way to test them imo. Some roms are coming out from the developers either overclocked, undervolted, or any combination of the two. Do you intend on leveling these variables, in any way, before testing or running them exactly as the dev intended.

I'm going to run them as the dev intended. The main reason why is most people only gain the balls to actually try rooting and installing a rom but most won't mess with overclocking or voltage. I know many will disagree and say things like "these test never work or aren't correct" but I'm after the battery stats, out of box, end user results.

ROMs done:

slickMOD v3.4[SUPREME]
Paradox II|Paradise|3|5|12| - Recharging to 100 then running benchmarks and I'll be done

After the rather...disappointing way I departed and the resulting issues, I'm setting some things straight here and now.
1. No ETAs. Period. I don't want to see when will I fix or add anything.
2. No complaining. There's a line between reporting an issue and complaining. This line is crossed when it's reported more then once.
3. Requesting additions is fine, within reason. Keep it within reason, I'm not a real dev.
4. Using this ROM...this is where a lot of issues have come up, generally speaking, you can use this ROM as a base if you choose, however ASK ME FIRST. That's it! Everything could have been avoided if people had simply asked me before using my ROM and slapping their names on it then putting it out there. Please include some credit to waydownsouth, gh123man, randomblame and myself. For 4.3 Jellytime, randomblame in particular.
5. Hosting/mirroring. Please don't host or mirror this elsewhere, I will supply hosts for this ROM, I don't need more, and I prefer to keep track of how many users of a given build I have. Hosting elsewhere interferes with this. The only exception I can see is for our Russian/Ukrainian user community, my hosts may be slow there, or in other parts of the world. If you wish to host for another country, please let me know.
6. READ. For the love of all that is holy and great, READ the OPs, read at least the page before where your post will be. I will not answer questions already answered. If I respond, it may not be the nicest way I could do so. Please, save me, yourself, and everyone else the time and /facepalming and at least attempt to find the answer on your own. This is not limited to only this ROM, but anything you may wish to post about in this thread. Questions about CWM or TWRP don't belong here, but if they are valid questions that have something to do with this ROM, go ahead, after reading up on it.
7. Remaining on topic....well this one is loose. I prefer it to stay related only to this ROM, however I know things stray, and generally I'm OK with this, just try to keep it at least related to android. Or at least something related to something to do with on this planet.

Restore apps and whatever. Do not restore system apps and/or data
Restore user app data if you wish, but it may cause issues. If problems come up, factory reset and try again without restoring data.
Feel free to flash any kernel you want, but don't post about problems here until you use the kernel it came with first.
4.3 Instructions:
Root and unlock your device, if you haven't, visit the All things Iconia A100 link in my sig, and read up. Then read again. Then proceed with rooting, unlocking, and installing a custom recovery.
I'm not going to note each recovery's method of installation, hopefully by now you guys know what to do in your recovery of choice.
Download the ROM to external SD
Download a current GApps package to your external SD card. 4.3 ONLY! Don't report anything if you use anything but the gapps I linked from my site.
Reboot into recovery using whatever method you like:
-Power off then power on holding volume -

I strongly recommend you download and install apps FRESH from the Play Store, and do NOT restore apps if possible. If you want, then go ahead...
Restore apps and whatever. Do not restore system apps and/or data
Restore user app data if you wish, but it may cause issues. If problems come up, factory reset and try again without restoring data.
Do not report any issues if you:
Dirty flashed.
Restored anything with any app.
Don't use the supplied kernel.
Modified the ROM in any way prior to the issue coming up.
Did not read the entire post and noted what bugs are already known to exist.
Did not use the 4.3 GApps on my site which I linked right below the ROM download.
Can not report a bug issue without quoting Hawkeye because you skipped all of this.

So I got myself an A100 from ebay for 140 bucks just to toy with it and find its relevant thread on XDA to flash me some cm9 and what do I see. Working jb port completed already.. Imagine my shock !!!!! Hail *pio_masaki* .... you are the Man dude !!! Any amount of compliments I make is just insufficient to praise the amount of hard work and time you put behind this. :good::good::good::good: Just flashed v5-2 already and its "butter" smooth operation from then.. Wait till I show this to my friends...

Thanks, and welcome to our little corner of XDA! Hope your new tablet is as good as mine has been to me
But really guys, randomblame did the hard work on this. I just got it running on the A100.
Pio, I know the feeling on the time spent on these things and friction with the wife. Use lube, Red Wine is what I suggest, good for the heart.
Jk buddy, thanks for all your work and time. Family first. We understand.

Also....new version with WiFi and some sound is up. Root seems to work to a point but I'll say its broken for now.

Pio_masaki,I have been a silent observer of your threads for quite a while, and I have to say that I have never seen such a nice person as you. Maybe there're other developer in XDA that has a better skill than you (just maybe, haha, please don't be offended =p), but regarding personality and character, I think no one can match you. You really deserve the best person award. Thanks for all the work that you have done to the community =)

Thank you for the kind words, and no I'm not offended, there are certainly much better developers for sure, as I don't really consider myself a developer anyways. Most of this work has been done by randomblame and waydownsouth I just move it over for us on the A100, which isn't always easy I'll admit.
Version 7.8 is now available
Change log:
Root is now working as it should.
Open Super SU
Let it "install" binary (its already there)
Enjoy
External SD is now RW:
Fixed a permission issue in platform.xml to allow full read/write to external_sd.
Brightness control now works:
Auto brightness doesn't seem to work, manual brightness works. This was actually fixed in a previous release, and broke again, and is now working again.
Sound:
Sound works in some apps, but system sound is still broken, ie notifications, music, but some apps/games work, like angry birds now has audio.
Bluetooth:
Bluetooth has been proven fixed by a pairing, testing done by ntan97.
Still Broken:
Gallery/camera
Internal SD doesn't mount
Power LED is erratic, sometimes always on, sometimes always off
Home to wake: works when power led is ON, doesn't work while it is OFF
Video playback is still broken. Tested on stock player, dice player, mp4 and avi.
I'll be redoing the posts to be a little less confusing by moving things to change logs like this.
Wow man. I'm surprised on how much progress you're making on this. It's quite a feat. You can say all you want about how you're just compiling what others have made to the A100, but it takes a good person to continue a project for such a small community like this (even after you said you were going to slow down? I haven't seen you slow down at all) and it's still not just that simple.
You're probably one of the most helpful people here since crossix. Thanks for you're work
Hopefully when I receive a new PC in a couple weeks I could start making the first complete A100 theme for this ROM. To my knowledge there really hasn't been a whole lot of action in the themeing department here.

Yeah....I keep saying ill slow down.....then I get a new idea or theory and go back until I get it right lol
Theme wise stetsonaw has a complete theme that works for us, but of course more is always better, I'm partial to black and red myself.
And PC...yeah don't get me started on that. My fastest machine takes 3 hours to build. That's like 2 hours of prepping 3 hours to build just to test. Unless its something I can do after compiling. That's the version number, first is build second is changes within that build after its built. So current is build 7 change 8, so figure 3 hours per build, plus whatever time of work before the build, plus whatever hour so per change after... plus the builds I didn't even number lol.
All said and done I have at least 21 hours invested in builds. Probably another 15 in smaller revisions, plus the 9 hours getting the initial port worked out. Over...maybe 2 or 3 weeks. Plus the nightly cm9 builds. And a few hours for the scripts, few more for aoikaze, and more on kuroikaze which I'll likely never finish and release. Oh and the guides lol.
It adds up quick. This is just since May...I think closer to June when I started all of this.
Edit: Just realized I have over 99 hours in the nightly cm9 builds, not counting setting up for it and uploading time lol

I just flashed and have noticed one thing (I apologize if already stated just haven't seen)
But it looks like just a density issue. Fonts are just small at times. The stock launcher seems a little weird and when in landscape the notification bar is far on the left.
I tried my best to take a photo.
And just a question. Are their specific 4.1 gapps or are the ICS ones the same?

Yeah not a bug, that's the new 7" UI jellybean uses. Not sure why they killed the combined bar and chose a phone UI though. That's how the N7 will look too.
Oh edit there is a jb gapps but they're kinda broken, so flash them, ten icss gapps over it and itll work, that's how I do it. I'll add them into the OP sometime today, niece and nephew are staying with us for a few days so I'll be busy being the coolest uncle ever with all my modded consoles, devices and toys lol

Bit off topic... but woah, thanks man. Just donated 5€
As most users on XDA, I've got a rooted device that I want to use a custom ROM on, and there are so many choices it makes choosing a ROM very difficult.
And it is all a matter of preference, depending what included features (included Gapps, default launcher, notification options, etc) or what base it is built from (CM10, AOSP, AOKP, etc) everyone has their own preference.
I created this public spreadsheet, but I thought it may be useful for others, and allow others to possibly to keep track of what features are included out-of-the-box on different custom ROMs. It has really taken off since I originally created it.
http://goo.gl/U8a0E
Hopefully this can help others like me who want to quickly know what features they will or won't have with different custom ROMs.
I considered trying to do a forum post on this, but obviously I would have to keep up with updates myself on Post #1 like most stickied reference posts, that's why I thought a public Google Spreadsheet would be more helpful as anyone can update it.
Overall, a lot of this will probably be moot once a stable CM10 is released, but we never really know how long that can take. And we all know there will still be customizations made to it, one I can think of specifically is Paranoid Android.
Thanks everyone who makes updates to the sheet. I would also like to throw out a HUGE thank you to the custom ROM makers giving us stable ROMs that meet our individual needs.
And, as the Google Doc can be viewed by ANYONE, must get permission on google account to edit.
My personal "Must Haves":
- T9 Dialer (avoid having to install separate dialer app)
- Customizable Notification drop down for Additional Toggles (this has replaced the need for Widgetsoid2 since I can have the Flashlight and Wifi AP here.)
- Reboot and Reboot to Recovery in Power Menu (Mostly Reboot as a minimum as I sometimes forget to turn it back on if I Poweroff)
- Battery Percentage in Status Bar (The logo itself is no where near specific enough for my needs, and I now prefer the circle style)
NOVEMBER 24, 2012 UPDATE: Personally I've switched over to Paranoid Android 2.99.3 (beta 3), it doesn't have my personal must haves yet, but I'm sure it will, currently I'd rather have 4.2 and lose a few features, than be running 4.1.2, it is one of the first roms with customizations to be released on AOSP 4.2, so until it is 3.x it could have some bugs.

This is nice. I have bought gnex seven days ago and tried every JB ROM so far.
Also I noticed that paranoid, like you said ( the only ROM that I am using as a daily driver ) is not on this list.
You really should try his alpha 1.9.1 with included kernel. Well now all kernels work on this ROM. But I think that gnex is the beast already and doesnt need any Custom kernels.
Hey I like Franco kernel and I purchased his app and I am playing a lot with it, but as long as I need decent battery life I will use stock kernel. On that ROM I had only 2% of battery dropped in amazing 6 night hours. I just couldnt believe my eyes.

Yeah, I was trying to find a good ROM to get me by until CM10 was officially released as "Stable", and I was going to wait until that to try Paranoid Android, especially with all the customization I can do in it.
I may have to give it a try, maybe once I see my spreadsheet fill up with more user input. I'm already seeing a lot of activity on the sheet.

Thanks, I assume you added Soft and Chewy.
I'm downloading the newest CM10 and JellyBro to load onto my Nexus quick, hopefully I will get those two filled in completely, then at least I will know where my baseline is for my own personal comparison.
A few people have messed it up a bit and I'm sure some changes got lost, but if I don't leave it wide open, I know a lot of people won't make changes.
So, after all of that, and the spreadsheet getting updated by users pretty nicely, it looks like there is a functional enough CM10 (from the +Google page) v1.8 that is stable enough for me to start using as a daily driver for at least a few days.
I'll be using Gapps-b as I need Picasa sync to be working.
Damn! That's great work, well done! Keeping this up to date will be the hardest part but if you manage it you will help the Galaxy Nexus community a lot! I'll try to help. Keep up the good work.

I agree, I didn't put the battery life on there, all roms except the Nightlies like to advertise "Good" battery life anyway.
That's one of the issues with leaving it editable by anyone.

You could leave the public version as is, but add a "revised" version (editable only by you) that weeds out any egregious and obvious inaccuracies.
Oops misread.
I started one of these back in the day for the droid Eris. You should be able to leave it public, you can always see and revert changes.

So, overall, I definitely accomplished what I wanted to do with the Google Doc, everyone has been awesome with their updates to it.
But, for myself, the Doc is basically useless as soon as I found CM10 v1.8 on the +Google page, which is basically a very stable nightly (although it isn't), it is exactly what I wanted....
It's very stable, gives me all the features I have as my "Bare Minimum"
- Toggles in notification screen
- Battery Percentage in Status bar
- Reboot options in shutdown menu
I ended up in the exact same state after trying numerous custom roms on my HTC Desire and Motorola Atrix previously, always just ending up with CyanogenMod7.
And I happened to just fall onto the +Google post with v1.8 while compiling the Google Doc. Was about to download 1.3 then 1.8 was posted and I'm LOVING it.
And as long as I stick to CM10, I shouldn't have to wipe my data, I'm tired of doing all my Titanium Restores (as I don't have the paid version).
Again, thanks everyone for updating the Google Doc, and as I've made it public, anyone should be able to update it and keep it updated for other people out there that want to use custom roms. And if anyone ever needs to revert anything that really breaks it, all you have to do is log in with your google account.
I really hope it helps some people find the ROM they want to use for their specific needs. And it would be nice to see more of these for different devices, especially for devices not officially supported by CyanogenMod. I may have to get one started for my Motorola Atrix 4G.
Anyone notice this on both CM official and jelly bro.
There's no Document Viewer app??? it's in stock! I can view pdf, microsoft word, without needing to download 3rd party app.
Show widget before lockscreen seems not working in both CM official and jelly bro.

It may be in stock, but is not in AOSP.
Plenty of apps on the market for it, which is how we justify not adding one.

Speaking of that, does anyone know what document viewer the stock Nexus uses, and if there is an Play App, or APK I can install on CM10 that is the same.
I have Documents to Go, but I'm wondering what the Stock nexus one is.
I've added this to the spreadsheet as CM10 not having one, so if we know which app the Stock has I can put that on the spreadsheet.
Thanks.
