[Q] Optimus G Reboots - LG Optimus G (International)

Hello everybody
I have a problem with my phone, today I installed a game, Plants vs Zombies 2, and after a few minutes I was playing the phone has rebooted. Since that time at start up, after 15/20 seconds the phone reboots again.
I tried to do a hard reset but I have not solved anything.
A couple of days ago I flashed the firmware France "H", so I tried to flash an Italian firmware and I redid the hard reset but it has not solved anyway. (Now I have an "unknow IMEI")
I'm trying to do a restore with LG support tool, but the battery was too low then try again later.
*EDIT*
LG support tool has restored the original firmware (brand vodafone), but still no imei and reboots
Any other tips? Could you help me please
thaks!

Do you have freegee backup folder saved if you ever used it to unlock boot loader.
If yes restore it. Seems you have messed up efs.

Hi,
if is not possible to restore the emei without a backup, is it possible to recover data from the storage if the smartphone is in download mode or recovery mode? I did a backup but i did 2\3 hard resets.

hardreset means complete factory reset and al ur data frm the internal storage will be deleted..!!...wrong choice

I do not understand why the phone reboots (and after i flashed the 10h firmware the phone worked fine for 2 days).
Without imei phone should not make calls.
I can not even flash another firmware because in the process the phone reboots and after a few seconds and the phone will reboot again before the process is finished

exactly the problem i have right now , sent it to over 4 shops , all couldn't fix it , said i had to send it back to lg to fix it , but lg is asking me for 300$ to fix it ( , im phoneless atm.

It seems is mainboard issue.hardware problems can't be fixed by software solutions....

well then after the reboot sequence for a couple of days , i flashed another firmware 10e or something and it started working again for 2 days but it went back to the reboot sequence like in the beginning... i don't really think it's a hardware issue , when im charging it in the off position , it just works normally.

Overall i performed each n every possible method but none of them helped.

Use fastboot and flash back to stock. See if that solves it. If not, it is possible it is a hardware issue.

[Q] Maguro rebooting radomly

Dear community,
i have a reboot problem with my gnex gsm for several weeks now. The phone seems to be rebooting randomly after freezing. The only situation where no reboot occurs is when it is attached to the pc via usb docking station in developer mode.
Ususally, i had cyanogenmod nightlies installed, but i also tried stock 4.2.2 and 4.3 images. Moreover i tried several full wipes using cwm and twp recovery. After the last wipe, I did not recover anything using titanium backup. At the moment i am running on 4.3 stock image and stock recovery with no root. Bootloader is still unlocked. The phone keeps rebooting...
Has anybody an idea where to locate the problem (probably some certain log files) ?
My GNex had that problem. It started with random reboots. Then got into a boot loop from which it never recovered.
Good luck. Hope you don't have the same fate that I had.
Try flashing back to stock and lock and unlock bootloader. If that doesn't stop the reboots, IMO, time to look for a new phone.
Edit : You might want to send it to Samsung for repair, if you are still under warranty.

Actually, I'm still under warranty, but i was hoping to solve the problem by myself to avoid being without phone for a few weeks.

Already tried that, i have a replacement battery. By the way, the reboot problem also occurs when charging from the normal power supply. Only the usb connection with debug mode avoids rebooting.
Thank you for your advice.

Yes, it is not distiguishable from the original one.
I was hoping, that there can be any hint in some sort of log file or something.
Have you tried booting into safe mode to see if it is an app issue?

Are you using the original cable to charge it? I've had problems where using cheap ebay cables made the touchscreen all jumpy and needed a reboot to fix. I changed to the original cable and it never happened again. Dont know if you could have a similar problem but with random reboot.

I'm using both the original cable and two docking stations from amazon, one with ac/dc adaptor and one with usb. The phone always reboots no matter if it is charging or not. Only when connected to usb in debug mode, there is no reboot.

So What was the hardware issue because i have the same problem and out of warranty..... And I would like to repair the phone.
If the costs aren't to high.
It is happening to my gnex since yesterday.
I was on shiny Rom and all of a sudden it began rebooting randomly.
Looking at the last_kmsg I found a kernel panic related to I/o error of the ext4-fs (or something similar).
I performed several wipe, thinking of a kernel issue.
It continued rebooting randomly so I completely reset to stock 4.3 including format of sdcard.
I have the feeling that reboots began when the sdcard began to fill.
I also re_locked the bootloader, but reboots still occur.
It is probably a faulty Emmc chip, I will go to the store for warranty.

ROOTED VZ G4 Bootloop - Will this break my warranty?

XDA,
I just got into a bootloop while on the Facebook App and I pressed the home button. I read that it happens to random people, but I want to make sure that I am safe.
I rooted roughly 5 months ago, when I got this phone and I've never had an issue.
What are my options? If I call VZ/LG will they accept my rooted phone? Or can I fix this bootloop? Will using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/guide-lg-g4-stock-firmware-to-stock-kdz-t3107848 help me ?
Thank you,
-J
EDIT: My phone booted up, the apps were optimizing, but then it just rebooted back to the LG screen and now it's stuck there.

If you are stuck on LG screen you could have the same issue as;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/lg-g4-stuck-bootloop-t3268734
I had full bootloops apart from when MM was installed, it just sat there on the LG logo. Could be that your on MM with the issue?
I have tried LG Bridge, Flash Tool and LG Up with various different roms, both LP and MM nothing worked.
Mine is also Rooted, with the bootloader unlocked. LG UK have been sat with my phone for over a month - hopefully I will find out soon if they have fixed it using the warranty - but even if they do, mine is with LGUK not LGUS ...
Think what I am trying to say is, try all the methods and if it doesnt work send it for RMA with your fingers crossed :/

Just so I understand you, I basically have to RMA my phone? All the other options seem like they resulted in a bootloop. And RMA I'm assuming you mean using warranty?
And I'm not on MM.
Just out of curiosity, would the fact that I rooted my phone disqualify me for using mywarranty?
I guess you rooted with injected system.img. If you can go to download mode you could write the original system.img back, so then you are not rooted. Or you could write a KDZ file in LGUP.

As far as I'm aware, simply restoring an original unrooted system.img backup will still show "Modified" in the download mode status, once it's been rooted. The only way to clear that status is by flashing the KDZ. (You can still keep your personal data with that option though.)

Based on what I've read in the main bootloop thread, the bootloop issue is a hardware problem that requires the phone motherboard to be replaced so I don't think they will be able to detect the root during the RMA process:
...
I have received confirmation from LG that series from May, June, July and August are afflicted by this issue and that the revision number doesn't matter. They also said that it is not necessary that all phones in these series will fail, but that under certain circumstances (not disclosed to me) they will start producing the bootloop issue which is h/w bound.
...
Update: It seems not all bootloops are due to deffective motherboard as on some phones they were able to detect the root and refused the repair under warranty.
So maybe for some G4's stuck in bootloop there might be a solution to be soft repaired.
I saw this in another thread, can you try this?:
...
Using DL mode (device off -> press and hold volume up while(!) connecting to PC) and LGUP you should be able to push any KDZ on your device and get out of the boot loop.
...
I don't have the bootloop problem so I can't test it but it might.
What's the build date of your G4 (between May-August 2015?)? What are the 1st 3 digits of your phone's S/N?
If you root any phone you automatically void your warranty. There's no exception to this and I actually understand why they do that because most people don't need to be rooting their phones lol but if u find a KDZ you're str8, use the flashtool and you'll never get into a permanent bootloop and you can use your warranty. But most likely something you modified or something another app was doing caused the bootloop not a hardware issue. Also it'd probably the last thing you ever even thought that caused it lol

yes it is its pretty easy... . file is big though... download kdz for you variant.. what android you are using.? MM or were you on stock LP.?
well i think since your phone is from 2015 august. that bootloop was supposed to be fixed by then. but newer phone are still getting hit by the bootloop.. but be aware unlocking the bootloader voids warranty.. some been lucky that phone were repaired some were denied repair..

LG G3 Bootloop and random restarts

So I was on holiday in London recently and i left my phone charging for a while, when i went to use it to check my texts all of a sudden it froze and got stuck in a bootloop.
After coming back from my holiday i bought a new battery which didnt fix the problem. Sometimes the phone manages to boot up but its either laggy or it ends up restarting into a bootloop eventually. I have tried everything, hard reset, upgrading to 6.0, flashing, and nothing seems to work.
I dont know what else to do at this point, is my phone screwed or am i missing something?
LG D855
find any fix
tried new battery but no luck
factory reset and re-flash
Same here
I have the exact same problem my lg g3 d855 would randomly restart or/and bootloop. I did everything I wiped dalvik cache data even internal storage and started from scratch. It stopped for a while but then again it started to do the same thing. If you find any solution let me now.

I think this was caused by a virus or bad update. before I updated my friends I managed to get it to to boot once and the Wi-Fi did not work either after update Wi-Fi still did not work. Which would explain why this happened at the same time to multiple people... tried everything to fix Wi-Fi nothing would work he ended up sending it back for replacement under warranty.
All the flash does is update it to the latest android which would not cause the Wi-Fi problem

I cant believe this, I was looking at a post i made on another forum a while back and someone said the sd card was corrupted, so i removed the sd card and Lo and ****ing behold my phone is working perfectly again. Somehow the SD card is corrupted or something while still functioning. hopefully this helps, i dont get why this isnt suggested in LGs official troubleshooting guide, ridiculous.
downgrade to kitkat 4.4.2 stock rom
For LG G3 boot loop issue, only downgrading to stock ROM KitKat 4.4.2 worked for me. Newer android releases seem to cause hardware conflicts with this model, especially while using Wi-Fi and enter in a boot loop. To downgrade, I used LGUP Tool and a suitable kdz file as LG stock firmware which you can find after some research on the net.
